    Can we just commend the fact that yall have revamped the entire style of this video?!? I love the fact that u both have a chance at talking about different features in the same section of the vehicle and mason with the measuring tape and ruler helps so much especially when doing comparison test. This makes the channel so much better and makes reviews more fun to do. this is the teamwork that makes it fun for all. The “Whats going on YT” is a hallmark but i find this intro to be 10x better 😄.

    I use to own a 1995 Pathfinder and there’s always been a place in my heart for this vehicle. So glad they dumped the CVT and I really like how they’re bringing back allot of the features from the legacy generations, such as the front hood slits, C post pillars, and really like what they’ve done to the rear of the vehicle (exterior).
    We test drove one in Oct 2022 and found that the Pathfinder didn’t tick as many boxes as the competitors, however, the price point was relatively the same (or more!). Looks like they’re slowly trying to play catch-up adding options such as a power passenger seat to the lower trim levels (finally!). Rock Creek didn’t impress, it seemed like badging, roof rack & wheel package, not to mention the front passenger seat was not powered!
    We loved the way it drove, really like the shifter over push button. Also found it super comfortable and very good ride quality.
    However, with the launch of the new Pilot I see the Pathfinder falling behind & playing catch-up once again with the competition in this class. Only 7” ground clearance for the Pathfinder, pretty well the lowest in this class.
    If you are a Pathfinder loyalist you’ll love what they’ve done with the Pathfinder.
    If you’re in the market for a vehicle in this class it won’t take you long to notice that you can get more vehicle for the same (or less) money with another competition brand.

    As a new owner of a '23 Pathfinder Platinum all wheel drive, you both are spot on. The seating is incredible/quiet/good factory warranty. The fuel savings engine on-off switch drives me nuts...I would like a switch that I can permanently turn off. With 2k now on it, averaging 23.2 mpg, I'd say 9/10 so far.

    Pleaseeeee call out headrests that are uncomfortably too far forward with no ability to adjust the angle. I’m having to shop for a vehicle that doesn’t hurt my neck. Same with the seat for long drives - needs to be comfortable. Your long haul opinions are valuable because we can’t do a long drive as a test drive. Lucky to even get a test drive with some models. Who could possibly choose a vehicle without even driving one. That is why your Opinion matters. Not just features only. Not afraid to point out negatives = more views and trustworthiness. Keep up the good work!

    I just purchased this model three days ago with the Baja Storm color. I passed on the Rock Creek as it didn't have the rear remote Hatch opener nor a driver side electric seat. My former Pathfinder had the same problem and my passengers were sitting lower to the floor which I didn't like. The new Platinum will be my final car.

    Nice review! You hit on all the good points of this PF, especially now that Nissan got rid of the CVT transmission.
    I own a 2022 Pathfinder Platinum. Kind of regret not getting the Palisade. This new PF isn't all that cracked up to be.
    1. All the paneling seems flimsy, within the first two month of ownership the plastic trim above the headlight came off, the double sided tape used didn't hold anymore. Good thing it was still under warranty.
    2. The side mirrors doesn't auto fold when you lock the car, it's a manual button you need to remember to press every time you get out of the car. (I also have a Kia Stinger and that options comes with the top of the line model GT2) Since the PF Platinum is the top of the line you would think it would have that feature as well. Also, there is no auto dim for the side mirrors either. Just the rear view mirror. In this day and age, with all the LED headlights coming from the back and front you would want the side mirrors to dim to keep from getting blinded.
    3.The front passenger chair doesn't move up or down, just back and forth. This can be an annoyance if you are about 5'2 or shorter cause you will require a booster chair.
    4. The brightness level of the dash is dim to super blinding bright. The dim I feel is a little too dim and it strains the eyes when looking and the bright is so bright it creates a almost halo affect around the dash.
    5. Now it's nit picking, but why would Nissan put the steering wheel warmer on the passenger side?
    6. The camera's are good but not intuitive, you would think putting it in reverse and then drive the camera would switch with the drive selected, nope. Imagine parallel parking your car, you throw it in reverse the camera comes on and then you put it in drive and you have to press the camera button to show the front view so you don' t hit the car in front or the curb and scratch up those rims
    7. This one is a bit of a safety issue, the gas nozzle pops the handle like when the tank is full. Not all PF has this issue, it might be a limited to a batch, but every time I pump gas, to avoid the pop, there is a sweet spot on the gas handle that you have to hold to keep the gas flowing until it's actually full. We've mentioned it to Nissan and they just told me to hold it like I how I just explained it.

      I wish I saw this review before I bought my 2023 pathfinder. I do like the suv, but some of your points are mine as well. Why is the steering wheel button on the other side?? Love the fact that they went with a standard shift transmission rather then the CVT they have in the other vehicles which they have had issues with forever. Also give me the V6 without the turbo. The Pathfinder is nice. A very big step from the last gen. The platinum model is also very good, however i do feel like they could’ve done more for 55 grand. I feel the same way about the highlander with some of its features on the platinum. The incandescent cabin lights aren’t it especially when u have vehicles cheaper than this with LED’s. The signals and reverse lights could be better, however its nothing to grudge about. But when u think about it and compare it to the palisade and telluride those do offer plenty more features at the same price. The X-pro on the telluride being 55k offers features that u made find on a 70k vehicle and the overall appearance of it would put any luxury SUV to shame. This looks more like a 47k vehicle than 55k 😬.

      But, they are Hyundai and Kia vehicles. I will take Nissan's long history of safe, reliable, dependable and long-lasting vehicles over either of those two manufacturers - it's the Pathfinder for me. If the pathfinder hadn't been beautifully redesigned, I stillnwould never even consider palisade or telluride. I would pick Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, even the Honda Pilot before rolling my dice on Kia or Hyundai. No thanks.

    Sure, the Pathfinder doesn't have the Palisade's high-polish or Telluride's cool factor, but with them getting rid of the CVT and keeping the tried and true VQ 3.5 V6, it is a MUCH improved CUV.
    The Telluride SX-P lost some of its appeal with its less-dramatic front-end styling on the 2023(but the interior did get advanced). And loaded Palisades are $55K+ in my area, so the Pathfinder does have a value card there.(likely to get a better deal at Nissan below MSRP).

    Cool car. Now when you get a scratch on the leather in all cars good luck with cost of repairs and all the digital displays. that's why i use manual cars and cloth interior and regular lights.

    Next year my wife and I will be buying a new pathfinder. It will be either the base or the SV trim.
    Up here in Canada heated seats are standard on the base model

    If the rates would come down or Nissan offers 0%. I'm getting one. Have the '18 with 90K miles and I can contest to the seats being comfortable. The Bose will blow you out if you are not careful. It's going to be a toss-up between the '24 Passport and this. Really don't need the third row and the Honda 10 speed is smoother.

    For SUV's a very useful measurement is can a 4' wide sheet of plywood or drywall lay flat in the back? The Armada is barely wide enough so I'm guessing the Pathfinder isn't.

    • @b1riley1000
      @b1riley1000 Год назад

      Alex on Autos review does mention the width between wheel wells is just over 48 inches. That is one reason I picked the Pathfinder and I have already moved a few items that were 4 ft wide, like flooring for my basement.

    Even though this engine is great, the explorer is better. In every category of the engine especially on that ST trim making basically 400 HP. One of the best V6’s in terms of power figures. However with that inline 6 cylinder coming in clutch with the new mazda cx-90 i can already see it being almost as good if better than the entire class even the explorer.

    • @skslone9450
      @skslone9450 2 года назад +3

      I owned an eco 6 cylinder in the explorer for 6 yrs, great performance. But when 70,000 miles hit and the timing belt slips(a recommended change at 75,000 miles) it tears up a lot of internal parts including a turbo charger. I just bought a 2023 pathfinder because of comfort, towing and a naturally aspirated v-6. The afore mentioned issues with the explorer is a problem with all of them apparently for the model year I owned. Don’t know if it’s been corrected in newer models or not, but wasn’t worth chancing again for me.

    Be aware they removed the fog lights from all trim levels of the 2023 rogue and have not made the parts needed to put the fog lights in available in Canada yet.

    • @Ricky-mo6mv
      @Ricky-mo6mv Год назад

      Fog lights are becoming a thing of the past regardless. And nobody is really going to miss them. Headlights have evolved which has rendered fog lights obsolete. Ten years from now we’ll be saying “remember when vehicles had fog lights? What was that all about?”
