    Sir My husband and I found your video very informative and well made covering many of the different aspects of the job. We have to replace our water wall assembly for Samsung model DW80M9550UG. We can not find the what the part number would be for entire assembly. Everything we find is the individual pieces. Could you provide a number for us? Thank you. Nice video.😊

    Thank you so much for making this video! I've been researching how to DIY my dishwasher because of the grinding noises. I looked up my model number (DW80R9950US) and it looks like they've discontinued the entire assembly. I can still purchase the replacement motor by itself, do you have any recommendations for preventing water leaking into the motor since I can't purchase a brand new assembly?

    You are an excellent instructor! I was able to do by following along with you… Anyway I wanted to let you know that if you have a tap-to -focus screen for your camera, tap and hold down and it should come up with a focus-locking icon (might look like a little padlock, it does on Android) which will lock the focus where you want.. That's the only distraction that I could point out in this entire video which is otherwise excellent is that every other few frames it's zooming in and out. But you can lock the focus on most video equipment. Keep up the great work! Thank you so much.

    • @nurrappliancerepair
      @nurrappliancerepair  9 месяцев назад

      Glad this could help! We do use manual focus for recording at one focal length but when you're on a job and need to actively change focal lengths, unfortunately manual focus does not work as the subject would be out of focus (I.E showing a part up close after taking it off). The auto focus helps to show the subject without needing a second person to film. The tech can film and do the job with this in mind.
      We are working on bettering the quality but for now this is what we have to work with haha.

    Very helpful video that seems to have fixed our dishwasher. Since it was recorded the price on this part has gone way up. I found it for $179, Samsung wanted $232 and wouldn't budge. I couldn't even get to a person at Samsung to see if they would offer a discounted price. Really unfortunate that they built this line of gorgeous kitchen appliances that have been so flawed. Refrigerator icemaker froze up just past warranty, I struggled with doing a manual defrost for about a year until I finally got them to cover the parts and labor after warranty. Now it is noisy but at least it works.
    I dealt with the poor controls on the OTR microwave for 5 years before finally replacing it with another brand. And that was after 3-4 out of warranty (attempted) repairs. It would randomly display a 7 then maybe more 7's or once in a while a 3. If we lock the display it was ok but why can't they just make a unit that works reliably?
    No more Samsung appliances for us.

Noise during slide indicates motor is spinning but there is some mechanical gear/belt issues...Motor to be replaced only if arm stops moving back and forth..is it ? Hello Jesse!
      The water wall system for this unit is a bit different but the fundamental process for the repair is almost the same. Your unit seems older then the one in the video.
      You have a choice of replacing the entire water wall system with this Part# DD97-00484A (Retail $258.66) (You can look at the picture on this link. partsdr.com/part/dd97-00484a-wash-arm-assembly?gclid=CjwKCAiA-P-rBhBEEiwAQEXhHzyg_zzhhxXzYL6XzghCZNXdfPivsFK2X9RXR5v0RY5DDl82A0a46RoC_wQQAvD_BwE)
      Or you can just replace the Motor Assembly Part# DD97-00496A if you can find it. Our research states that this part# is discounted so this may not be an option for you.
      You can also replace just the Motor Part# DD31-00013B (Retail $185.90) which is available but we personally would recommend replacing the entire system if you're going to put that much effort into it.

      It really won't matter what brand you go with. They all have their issues. If you care for reliability, look for something with the least functionality & keep up with maintenance. Remember, a dishwasher only needs 6 main components to do its job. Control assembly, water valve, circulation pump, dispenser, heater & drain pump. The simpler these systems are, the less problems they will have.

    This video is excellent. It’s the best repair video I’ve seen as it covers every single step. Keep posting more. I noticed after the new motor my waterwall finally works again, but when it gets to the back it seems to try to keep going back more for a few seconds. I’ve read this is a magnet sensor problem. Do you have a video for that?
    A few comments in this video, thank god you said to test it to look for leaks, I went back there and noticed that big collar had come off completely. If you don’t turn it far enough with hitting it with the screw driver, which I thought I had, it slowly turns itself back and comes off.
    Another thing, my water supply metal tube had no slack so I didn’t know when te to disconnect it at the sink, or by the kick plate? (It appears it goes underneath to the front by the kick plate. ). When I put the dishwasher back though I had the hardest time getting the tube pulled back to the front. I used a string tied to it.

    • @nurrappliancerepair
      @nurrappliancerepair  Год назад

      Really means a lot, thank you! We're going to keep em' coming.
      It really is up to you how you would like to disconnect the water supply line. Either way during reinstallation the water line is going to need to go under the dishwasher to get under the sink. There is a little groove where the water line will fit under the dishwasher so it doesn't kink or get squished, it tends to find it's way there after a few movements of the dishwasher.
      It's common practice for us to disconnect the water line from the front as it give us more room to work versus trying to disconnect it under a sink. But if you're going to do this repair, might as well buy a 6-8 foot dishwasher water line and replace that while you're at it if it's your personal home ($10-$20 on Amazon, steel braided 3/8 inch). Just remember to shut off the water valve under sink first and also check to make sure the water valve under sink is still functional. In older houses they tend to still leak water through the line (sometimes worse than others). Once you take the hose off and there is still pressure in the hose, you're going to have a hard time putting it back on; find the main waterline to your house before hand just in case you need to shut the water off to the home completely (just a disclaimer to be safe).
      If you decide to leave the water line you have, you can tie a string around it and pull it under the dishwasher when reinstalling the unit, but we recommend just replacing the hose if you have to go through all of that.

    • @wstt4
      @wstt4 Год назад +1

      @@nurrappliancerepair I edited my comment above before I realized you replied. My comment is very different now. Can you look back above?
      Also, someone in another video said the default motor position when you put in a new motor is for the waterwall to be in the back. They said you need to put your waterwall to the back before putting it back on the new motor. I didn’t do that. Maybe that’s why when my waterwall gets to the back it keeps trying to go back further? Some say the magnet sensor breaks. I am afraid the motor will break bc it’s keeps trying to push it back further.

    • @nurrappliancerepair
      @nurrappliancerepair  Год назад

      @@wstt4 Did you replace the entire motor assembly or just the motor itself?
      During your repair you should of seen 2 connectors, one connector for the motor and one for the sensor. The sensor comes with the entire assembly if you did replace the whole thing (which we recommend). There is the position (Vane) sensor for the motor. You can buy it separately, its #17-2 on the diagram. Part# DD32-00011A
      Also where did you get your parts from?

      @@nurrappliancerepair I got the full assembly part, not just the motor, from an Amazon, third-party seller, shipped by Amazon, because I wanted it quickly, and I wanted a chance for possible hassle free return.
      By inserting a small screwdriver in the side of the door latch opening, and starting a cycle, I see the water wall keeps trying to go back for another 10 to 20 seconds after reaching the rear of the DW. A few times, when the water wall was going towards the back, I took the rear of a flashlight that has a strong magnet on it, and got it close to the sensor, and the water wall, then stopped and started going forward again. This leads me to believe it is my magnet in the bottom of the water wall gray attachment. I have seen many people say these magnets go bad overtime, and some buy a string rare earth magnet, and either epoxy it, or, just stick it onto the water wall gray piece that connects to the conveyor belt.
      I’ll add I’m in Hawaii so most parts can be expensive or long to ship so Amazon is best. Once it took over 30 days as a regular merchant sent a tiny item by boat.

      @@wstt4 At this point we would suggest probably returning that to Amazon and ordering a factory part. We can order it for you if you would like and ship directly to you with our distribution partners. Truthfully we have not come across that magnet issue.
