I made a stove out of a steel 5 gallon pail when I was a kid for up in my treehouse. It took some trial and error but it ended up working very well, almost too well.

What did you use for the pipe flange?

That can wouldnt last long, very thin metal.

Be careful because of rust, if necessary paint with heat-resistant paint.

Have you considered making up a bit of “glass paint” to treat the can, so that you could get more time from it?

If any of the items used to build the stove are galvanized, this is dangerous to your health.

After firing four times, nothing was left of the galvanizing... then the oven was painted with heat-resistant paint.
