@@MrJosh066717 Were you born addicted? Why do you need "addiction" to replace something that shouldn't be there in the first place. Same with nicotine, after your mind switches back, you see it only as poisonous substance.
13 years of drinking n suddenly i make my mind to be sober its been 10 days sober this time my target is 60 days 😎 Its a wonderful experience feeling very energetic to be honest but have to be disciplined in the first 5 days Its hard but not impossible.
6:15 non-alcoholic beer is a step into the right direction. I support anyone who drinks it because it's better than the alternative and for some it's a major stepping stone. It's also pretty good tasting. I like the taste of beer and wine so when I don't want something with alcohol, I choose non-alcoholic beer.
Great video My current special drink that does not try to mimic alcohol is Chinotto I also enjoy sugar free tonic water Of course also water, tea, coffee Next March I'll be two years sober, first time and thanks to this channel
Christmas time, sitting with family or in-laws or friends or whomever that slams that beer or cocktail on the gathering table and says "come on, buddy!!" Take out a list of your greatest intentions for why your greatest most aspired self does not partake in this alchemic quantum corrupting substance. Perhaps the worst part of alcohol for me is how binging creates a delusion of memories, feelings, and thoughts that do not go away until days of being sober. At some points I've thought life is already dead, there is nothing greater than drinking and yet going a few days and feeling like a demon just left possession of my mind. This is a time for a Christ'MAS of energy and peace and 'actual joy', not a Christ'MISSED or Christ'PISSED. Heard of many incidents were people became evil drunk on Christmas - what a terrible way to go into a new year, be a miracle to yourself.
If you are an alcoholic or semi-alcoholic weekend warrior it can actually help the first months to repalce it with sweet soft drinks like Coca cola or sprite. But after the "clean up period" these are very solid advices about what to drink instead of alcohol! I `ve been sober for 13 years and this summer 2024 I tried non alcoholic beer for the first time. That was a really, really bad decision that triggered my brain. So I did not relaps, but will not try non alcoholic beers again. Thanks for a great video!
Soon 3 years sober. Totally agree with changing the replacement mindset and just change the activities and try to encourage friends to other activities besides drinking. Personally I do not like sweet drinks so for me alcohol free beers are occasionally ok but the thing is that after one you are done when in the past I could drink 10 beers in an evening.
I am rooting for you. 69 yr old woman here drank my whole adult life and finally accepting i really need to stop! Sending love and prayers for us both.
Hi Leon, I watched some of your videos towards end of last year (2023). About 1 week away from a year alcohol free (01 Jan 2025) and I don’t think I would have done this without seeing your videos first, wanted to say thanks. Love my soda water now and I also drink the alcohol free beers and really like them, must make sure it is truly alcohol free though, stating 0.0% on the label, which means it will be 0.04% or less which is about the same as eating an orange 🍊
2 weeks as of yesterday, don't know if I'm gonna be OK this time of year though, it's challenging, I've gone 17 months before then started last Feb again and now I decided back to getting on track, I shouldn't be drinking with my health anyway, but it's not easy 😔

The secret to quitting alcohol is actually seriously wanting to do it in your heart
No it’s not. The secret is finding a healthier addiction

I am doing a big switch from plastic to glass this year. Love Pellegrino.
I Like to drink my sparkling water from wine glases. Looks nice and makes it kind of special.
A teaspoon or maybe a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, with the mother in a glass of sparkling water

Great insight. Great recommendations. Last but not least, thanks for continuing to educate us on all you've learned.
Your future self will definitely thank you!
Sugar can be a trigger to drink alcohol best to stay away from sugary drinks.
I make a weak green tea with a little honey and iced.
Please pray for me to STOP drinking ! I went a whole day last week. I am having a hard time. But I'm drinking a chamomille tea right now :-)

I keep it simple with some sparkling mineral water and a splash of fruit juice. Keeps me hydrated!
