    I think the reason International team is considered the best team in the game is because it is one of the most flexible teams in the game. Capable of handling almost any content due to multi element damage, cc, good single, and AoE damage. In 3.7 abyss it was the only team that had a 50:50 spread on team distribution.

    I usually see exactly the opposite. Childe is usually being underestimated, and not quite recommended by a lots of content creators. For every video that praises him, there's at least two which calls him unneccessary, and mid.
    I let people keep me away from playing him, so I left him collecting dust at level 10 in my account. I just built him recently, and he is a beast. Also fun to play.
    The other advantage of using Childe, that you have to build/level both Xiangling, and Bennett. These two are quite popular characters, and can be used in a lots of teams. None of you resources will go to waste building Childe's supports. :)
    Childe international is a well rounded, stable team, which has no elemental counter, and can be used in every situation.
    I regret that I didn't built this team sooner.

    One thing you forgot to mention is extra xiangling procs, xiangling gets additional pyronado ticks against a lot of the bosses, sometimes even 60%-70% more, usually in other teams xiangling cannot vape those extra procs and it won't be that big of a dmg increase (still decent increase), but childe's extremely high hydro application makes you able to vape most of it and result in a really big dps increase, which makes it so you don't need that many 5 stars to one rotate bosses, just pretty good artifacts with R1 childe and xiangling is enough

    I don’t really understand why having one team is bad when that one team can be used in nearly everywhere to great success. (At low investment)
    I’d agree childe can be overhyped by some speedrunners but I also think he’s largely still underrated for how well he works with Xiangling and how easy she can clear abyss at a baseline.

      having one team isnt necessarily bad but the lack of being able to flex out anyone on the team can be a problem if facing content that walls his team, such as an enemy like the thunder manifestation which counters the entire team

    I got childe in 3.2 simply because I liked childe in the story, and I was just starting out. I loved the damage he did, and how often he would spark reactions with nahida, whom I also incidentally got on my first ever pull. (I actually, funnily enough, lucked out on both their banners in my first pulls), He would work well with nahida and thoma, or nahida and raiden, or my fridge teams, and in my case, did great damage even solo. His kit flowed well for me, I found his move set aesthetically pleasing and I loved seeing all the reactions that he could proc. So then I fell into the rabbit hole of making as many combinations that I could. So now I just love nuking with him

    I actually think childe is actually Underrated in teams outside of international,where he can be situationally optimal .(examples at the end)
    One thing is that Childe's down time and lack of off field application can ne an advantage in certain teams because it helps you accommodate units that generally need alot of field time but have alot of downtime as well.
    Take the example of Raiden.Raiden's burst can last 7-11 secs depending on how you use the hitlag,but let's say on average she takes 9 secs.That's 9 secs of downtime.
    For example,
    Let's say you have something like 'Bennet-Hydro-Kazuha-Raiden,
    This Kind of team might faces issues in multiwave or finishing of a boss at low HP without screwing over the energy economy in the next chamber.
    Childe can fit pretty well into this downtime to finish off a wave to enemies which can be a bit overkill for Raiden.
    Ayato in this particular team may not be great as he will extend Raiden's rotations,and XQ/Yelan may not have have the frontload to finish of a wave of enemies quickly.
    He won't always be better than Yelan here,but he sometimes will.
    It's also similar with someone like Yae Miko who generally spends alot of time on field,but not really enough to qualify as a carry,Although I can't really find any videos to demonstrate the Yae synergy
    Also about him in Dendro team-your right that his very strong hydro application in dendro teams can be a problem especially in ST because he flips the Dendro Aura over to hydro.But he can be used to play HB in a more AoE context since him applying strong hydro can help swirl hydro(which is hell with Nahida)-especially with Venti who can make hyperblooms hit multiple targets.
    Ill give you a video example for each of these:
    Nahida HB in AoE and with Kazuha(tried to get a video with Venti but couldn't)
    ruclips.net/video/e42PIpLLyIY/видео.htmlsi=7YTWSw__LvMmIbwo
    Quickbloom with Raiden
    ruclips.net/video/Q83xVp9w7Pw/видео.htmlsi=JYmxHY00ofxlMOkd
    Overvape with Raiden(gameplay isn't great here,but you can see how it works)
    ruclips.net/video/-ofO1R7-LXg/видео.htmlsi=qxUU3rEX-ir6sFtE
    The clear times aren't the great because of gameplay issues but you can see how the team works mechanically .
    For example in the raiden quickbloom team ,replacing childe with ayato would extend the rotation and XQ/Yelan would reduce the quicken uptime for Raiden(can lead to more bloom triggers but still)

    The way you calculated the teams DPS using a 5* weapon (and usually giving the signature to carries) makes the calculations a bit biased towards Hypercarries. Giving a Hypercarry their BiS makes a lot more difference than giving a member of a balanced quickswap team any 5* weapon. Hence a team that relies a lot on their Hypercarry aka Wanderer will give much higher numbers than a relatively more balanced team like International.
    It would be interesting to see how the teams compare when you only allow them R1 non battle-pass 4* weapons for example. In a more ftp friendly comparison

    Then the abyss is only a small part of the content so he is enough flexible for the rest of the game.

      Now there is just a minority that tends to call his team the best team in the game, mostly because his best team remained relevant for a very long time and still is a very good team at high investment if you are good at playing it. Something important that you didn't note is that Xiangling hits 2 times against bosses and can hit 3 times if you dash at the right time. You should adjust your calcs to reflect that, since International is the only team where she can vape all of those hits (she goes from 12 to 21 to 28 hits iirc). If you adjust for that, you'll see why speedrunners call it the best team in the game. Many people like to think his cooldown/downtime isn’t an issue because of the existence of his team with Xiangling, but I think his cooldown/downtime plays a major part in limiting Childe’s effectiveness in other teams. Other than that, there is the lack of off-field Hydro application limiting his teams.
    Often he also gets called a driver, but in my opinion he lacks the qualities of a good driver, that usually comprehend having a better uptime than Childe has.
    Childe was probably designed to simply have bursts of great AoE damage against groups of enemies, and that’s it. Luckily he found a good/great team with Bennet and Xiangling, where he can front-load a great amount of damage, enable Xiangling to Vaporize her Pyronado, and then recharge her high cost Burst during the downtime. This team plays around his issues. With his limitations, he is unlikely to find other teams that are similarly as good and consistent for both single target and AoE. His best chance is probably a “better Xiangling”, and the team would likely be played similarly.

    • @deadencicle
      @deadencicle Год назад +3

      Not for coincidence, his constellation is designed to reduce his limitations, increasing uptime and giving him some off-field Hydro application, but it is the constellation of one of the first 5 star characters and like most others falling in this category, it is a rather weak and not too well designed constellation.

    Childe is my favourite character, before getting Wanderer I saved Primogems for over 6 months and I got his C4 (mainly because I think it is a really fun constellation to have). That’s why I had Layla C6 for Wanderer from the day one.
    Gameplay wise he and Wanderer are now my favourite characters (Riptide is just incredibly satisfying), but now I use Wanderer the most because I tend to go with the character that makes me clear things more easily and comfortably. Before getting Wanderer, I was using Childe over 99% of the time.
    Anyway, I have Childe C4 with Skyward Harp, Kazuha C2 with Favonius, Xiangling with Deathmatch R5, Bennet with Skyward Blade or Aquila Favonia.
    I know Childe can be really strong, for the reasons you explained, but I’m really bad at using him. I know the rotations, all the relevant mechanics, but I never learned to use his team efficiently. I also struggle surviving or at least to avoid being thrown around, sometimes, in the Abyss 12, and this is the only reason why I want Dehya (even if I know the team DPS will greatly suffer), who is at least better than Thoma.
    I also wish I could play him in more teams, but I never found a good alternative to the aforementioned team. I mean, many teams work fine against groups of enemies, but they seem so bad in single target. If I’m wrong and there is anything else that works very well, please tell me, as long as Kazuha C2 is in the team because I always want to have someone effective at grouping the enemies with him.

      @@GxGNoirpeople still think he's a bad dps because xiangling does more dmg when its a misconception. also your perception of international is quite wrong, it doesn't have much flaws. the only "flaw" it has is being energy hungry, but so are half the teams in this game, and u can easily fix this by building more er or use fav kazuha. your reasoning for him being overrated is because newer teams are easier to play, his team is hard to play, and he needs investment. starting off first, u can't rate a character based on how hard they are to play if ur basing it off meta. secondly, every team outside of bloom teams needs investment. you're saying this as if international is the only team that needs investment. last but not least, xiao, wanderer and nilou teams are not better speedrunning units than international. i will let the numbers speak for itself, u can go onto bilibili or tiktok and see the clear times of the top speedrunners in the community. childe has one of the highest frontloaded dmg in the game which helps a lot in speedrunning more than u think. nilou and xiao doesn't have any at all, and wanderer has some, but not at the level of childe wanderer teams aren't nearly as good as international in AoE and nilou sucks in single target. xiao is kind of in between. one more thing u mentioned is that bosses with split phases hurt the performance of international, but thats literally the case with every team. in fact, it isn't as much of a performance loss to international compared to teams without frontloaded dmg. take maguu kenki for example, once u deal about 250k-300k hp it starts to get into its i-frames. if u were to play xiao, he has no frontloaded dmg so you'll be wasting time while u wait for the i-frames to be gone. for international, u can bypass the first phase by using childe's burst, then use xiangling's burst when the i-frame ends. this is why his flexible rotations also help a lot in speedrunning as opposed to hypercarries who only have 1 rotation. international has no real weaknesses. it is great in both AoE and single target, has no counter because they have 2 elements as dps, has high dpr and has an excellent grouper. that's the reason why childe/international has a high abyss usage and it has remained that way for 3 years even with changing meta. similar to how u will see people glazing neuvilette as the best dps in the game, it doesn't mean he's overrated. he's rated so well by the community for a reason, same with childe. just that childe gets more hate because hes an enabler

    • @GxGNoir
      @GxGNoir  7 месяцев назад

      Didn't I point out the misconception of him just being an enabler that doesn't do damage in this video though? I'm pretty sure I did and broke down the math showing that he actually does a very high percentage of the teams output and his damage is just as important as XLs there. My overall conclusion was that people overrate him, but I still pointed out his positives and the things that make his team really strong. I certainly don't agree anymore that Nilou is a better speedrunning team than International, but Wanderer usually very handily beats International. If you look at speedruns for the current Abyss, I haven't seen any International come close to beating Wanderer at the same cost. Wanderer teams are incredible in AoE though and I'm not sure.
      International is certainly a very strong team when played well and built properly, but I stand by my opinion that it is overrated. That doesn't mean it's not great - it can be great and overrated at the same time. You disagree and think it's properly rated, that's also fine I respect your opinion and I can tell you're a smart fellow. Why is Childe Hyperbloom and Burgeon team inferior to Ayato's?

    • @GxGNoir
      @GxGNoir  Год назад +2

      because of his cooldown+lack of off field application - ayato has his burst to keep up application during his downtime

    I've been a Childe main ever since 1.1, I'm very used to his playstyle now, which makes it sound weird to me when people say it's hard to play him. Sure, there's a learning curve, but you can learn everything you need pretty fast, and using him will feel pretty natural after a few days.
    I do hope he gets more teams in future tho, I don't have Nahida, so I can't really play the intergrassional team, but I've always been trying out different stuff like electrocharge, freeze, hyperbloom, and burgeon with dendro MC, just because playing only national gets boring after a while. Planning to get his c1 in a few days, to have more team flexibility too.

  • @deltaspecies1697
    @deltaspecies1697 Год назад +2

    Imo whether to pull him or not comes down to one question which is whether u wanna olay international or not. Theres also the fact that international hogs bennet,kazuha/sucrose and xiangling and theres literally no other substitutes for them. Also has to consider that national has ALOT of other variants and they can be better than international depending on the situation as well.
    Overall,childe isnt really a unit id recommend. I would recommend ayato over him to most people.

    You claim you are a theory crafter and then post one hell of a misleading childe guide. The dps chart that you show in your video, you don't talk about whether they are ST or Multiple enemies scenario. If it's Aoe then Childe international beats every team in your chart. If you wanna argue on this topic be my guest in childe mains tc. And one thing your dps sheet is pretty sus.

    I'm glad I managed to snag haitham and use him instead of International. It got very boring and stale using Internatinal in every abyss, especially not having kazuha and using sucrose. Childe is not bad, but being limited to only 1 good team is such a big disadvantage in today's meta.

    Pretty much my thoughts exactly. A lot of people act like hes an absolute top tier dps and imo the fact that he has exactly 1 inflexible team thats amazing and no others that are anywhere near top level makes him disqualified from being a top dps. All the other top main dps' can at least mix and match some units OR can be played in different teams entirely. Hes great at his niche but thats the thing. Hes niche.
