What is with this court? It's got about 50 feet of grass on the left and and the right. Never seen such a wide court.
Look up the Tennis Hall of Fame Weddings and Rehearsal Dinners. You'll see that this lot is typically a row of grass courts available for club use. I believe it's something like $250/hr to play on them. Newport, RI has big money. Rich folk everywhere.
Most grass tennis courts around the world are just long lines of grass with a bunch of courts painted on them. That way they can shift them left/right and up/down each yeah to ease the wear on the grass, and it’s also easier to maintain as you can just run the mowers and fertilisers along one line of courts instead of multiple fences off areas. I’d imagine this court is just that without the extra lines
I think they just put the stand on the courts beside the court in the middle. Many clubs would do that, especially for the matches in deep rounds😅
@@suvantolas2608 from my experience (albeit in Australia), courts at grass clubs are put pretty close together so they can fit as many in as they can. I genuinely think here they just didn’t paint the lines for the other courts, as they wanted a centre court. But I’m also not familiar with Newport TC

I haven't seem Reilly Opelka for a while now. I'm glad he is back. I believe Marcos Giron has his third ATP final on his hands. I hope he wins this one.

I’d say a semifinal showing in his first tournament back after a 2 year absence is an incredible showing. He couldn’t have asked for much more and will start climbing the rankings playing like that. He shouldn’t be alarmed, can’t win them all and served well otherwise this tournament. Remember this is a career high #17 with 4 titles, the tour should watch out for him!

From what I see, these super tall guys have a very hard time with re-direction on grass. Eubanks was basically guessing on several occasions and, often times, got it wrong.
What's going on with Opelkas ground strokes? They have no power or depth on them. Looks like he was really struggling to deal with Michelsens power.
The only return I ever see eubanks hit is the slice. I guess it works for him

Eubanks needs to get a lighter racquet. He has zero racquet head speed and is just slow.
Opelka is easily the best mover on tour. He has such grace and the way he moves reminds me of Federer, Opelka is like a ballet dancer, hits with such ease. What he lacks on power and serve and reach he makes up with incredible feel. One of the most talented guys on tour.

Eubanks has improved but his movement isn't elite!
He hasn't improved from a year ago. He was much higher-ranked then.
He's very lanky and slow. Also plays with a racquet that's far too heavy for him and lacks racquet head speed
