It now grants "When you leave your Banner's Area, recover 30% of the Valour consumed for that Banner" instead of "When you create a Banner, it gains 40% of the Stages of your placed Banner".
have been keeping an eye on your stuff since your rain of arrows builds back in the day, only reason i didnt play it is because last time i played a bow build getting the bow stuff set up was a nightmare, but really loving how this build works and i LOVE that its functional with super super basic gear + ichimonji. Will most likely be using this build for my league start, never played lightning strike before(i waited a bit too long to try it out and then they turbo nerfed it) but it looks like fun, thanks!
FDG is by far my favourite guy for melee guides, im gonna start an melee bleed gladiator and play around with the new retaliation skills. even if this is an lightning strike one i can learn so much from this

This is really designed for getting your atlas clear and first 2 pinnacle bosses down on a very low budget. I will then personally farm essences and maybe Ultimatum or Destructive Play, but it should be ok with most league mechanics at league start as long as you are not someone who wants to juice your maps straight away. I will be swapping to Slayer when I have currency and I will bring a guide our later for this once I have made the swap

I just saw in your video and PoB that you use Leap Slam, is that a must or can I also use Whirling Blades without any problems? What is the reason why you are using Leap Slam now?
You can use whirling blades with swords. I think I just use it because that is the skill I use in the campaign as you cannot use whirling blades witrh an axe

Champ isn't that great for hardcore now as it lost quite a bit from the ascendancy. If you wanted to do it you would probably go fortify first and take a few more life nodes early. However I don't think it's a great build for hardcore

maybe im dumb or i missed this in video, but why in pob was placed 3x vaal lightning strike as active skills on body armour (it boost full dps in pob) and is it still viable to upgrade this build to claw and crits? Or its no needed anymore?
Lightning Strike for burst damage hits 4 times. Your own melee & Projectiles and 2 x Vaal Skills. POB cannot calculate this is so you have to duplicate the skills. You will only have one set up and do not need to worry about fitting 3 x 6 links in your body armour :)
I heard what you said it would probably work for other ascendancies too, but which one would you recommend taking if one would do this build with a ranger?
I played LS Raider last league and kept an eye on your Champ the entire time. My plan was to start your version this league as I felt that I was too reliant on freeze as a defensive layer on Raider. With the Warden introduction and changes to Champion, do you feel that Champion and eventually Slayer will be more defensively sound than Warden? Seems like Warden’s damage will be silly but it is lacking in defense.
I think warden you will need to freeze regularly and that will be your defence just not sure how you would consistently do it on lightning strike. Barkskin looks bad. Be interesting to see what people do with tinctures. I do think deadeye is a good option for lightning strike and you can always switch to warden later

Thanks. It is the same way every league. Unless you are running the BEST build then it is bait, but variety is what makes this game fun. I know if people follow this build it will get them well on the way to end game with a stack of currency to help them either develop this character or reascend to slayer
When you say boss rushing what do you mean? Bossing is probably this builds weakest aspect so if you want to do actual bosses as in shaper, elder, maven, etc.. this is not a good build for that. If you mean destructive play rushing map bosses it should be pretty good at that
@@azura4186 Build is very good at both of them so you shoudl be good. You will need half decent gear though as you want to be killing bosses quick. I did destructive play last league on the same build
Probably not but it is something you will do later on when you have lots of GCP. I think you should gamble on getting an expensive skill gem like ele hit of the spectrum or lightning strike of arcing

One thing... You can save some points by taking the mans cost wheel on the right side of the tree by the sword and bow node unless you need more mana You could take vaal pact if you're not getting any regen.
I think vaal pact now turns off all recovery so no flasks on instant 25% recovery unless I'm reading it wrong. I'll take a look at the tree as the build might have enough mana to miss those nodes and the mana cost reduction will be nice to have
Good enough for early league. It has decent armour and evasion, 15 fortify, adrenaline and taunt and 95%+ spell suppression. You could always add enduring cry for endurance charges, but I feel it is too many button considering the build already uses a few
You would go totally different on slayer I would think as you would go crit earlier and use totally different gear. Levelling should be similar but once you get to maps the builds would be totally different

man, leveling this build in 3.25 will be a pain, since we will lost all flat dmg on LS, so you will need a good weapons, any suggestions? especially for the warden variant?
You don't need good weapons when you get double the damage efficiency. Phys weapon also got buffed so gems like added fire can come into play and the skill still converts 50% damage to lightning
@@FuzzyDuckzy its 135% >198% for lvl 1, but without added flat dmg, so its not really a buff while you leveling, unless you have a good weapon, which might not be the case.
Lightning Strike double hits but POB does not account for this so you have to add 2 gem setups. One set to Melee and one to Projectile. The third setup is the vaal skill as again POB does not calculate this and you get 2 charges so max burst damage on map bosses will be 1 x Lightning Strike Melee, 1 x Lightning Strike Projectiles and 2 x Vaal Lightning Strike. If you wanted to see mapping DPS and Pinnacle Boss DPS you would disable the vaal part as this will not always be up, but you will always have it up for map bosses, guardians, etc when you reach them
is 4 million dmg is fine on T16 map ? i thought it should be 10+ million. and what minimum number of damage to fight pinnacle boss and uber pinnacle boss ? thank you im new to this game
No you need nowhere near 10 million for T16 maps unless you are juicing and using 4-5 delirium orbs. At league start a few million dps is ample for T16s. First 2 pinnacle bosses are easy you can do them on a million. The second 2 are tougher but they take longer to unlock. Ubers are a different kettle of fish and take much better builds, but not many people will target Ubers with their league starter. I also hate bossing so never really design my characters to attempt them
It is hard to simulate as you will do quite a lot more damage next league. As Lightning Strike builds only used 1 totem I feel the skill has been given too much increased damage which will be hard to simulate in low level gear
I just came back at the end of necropolis after a long break , my lightning strike looks nothing like this game play , i only see +1 projectiles on most of the trees ive looked at , what am i missing ?
It is probably due to multistrike as this will send out more projectiles. The skill has 3 as base. You can get 1 more from the tree and 1 from getting quality on the gem. The vaal portion has more projectiles too, so sometimes you will see lots of projectiles and other times you wont
I would think slayer would be better in hardcore champ lost fortify stacks and a lot of armour and evasion along with a defiance banner nerf. The build is also heavily reliant on the unique swords which are extremely common but dropping 2 is unlikely.
@@b44dsss didn’t even realise that. I guess it is balancing what is best as Vaal skills share souls so it means less charges for Vaal LS. Seems like a good option for maybe early on with bad gear
I don't think it's good unless you are on warden. The damage is about the same since.you lose 30% damage from point blank and a support gem. Early on when you are not as well geared returning proj often means it takes 2+3 hits to kill and enemy instead of 1.
Yes but it will involve switching to slayer as champion I am just using the ascendancy for a boost at league start. Later on in the league when gear is cheaper slayer will be much better You could scale this to do everything but think it will be better to switch to slayer
I don't think it would be great as things like block and lightning immunity would feel bad. It would work but I feel there would be way better builds for logbook farming
Because of armour, multiple layors of evasion or shade charges, max res, spell suppression and jewels hat prevent shotgunning hp has become far less important than before for defense. It's still good but it's not be all end all.
Sorry not sold on ranger as a starter. With gear it looks good but so many builds are relying on the new taming to get damage and they will be expensive as they don’t drop they are a vendor recipe
It turns off all recovery now so I would not get the life recovery from the ascendancy and I also think you cannot use life flasks. I am not sure I like the look of new vaal pact
even though it should be able to abuse both instant and normal leech, it's still expensive to setup :( already calculated at least around 20 for tanky setup with good DPS

@@skyler1469 the 40% per ailment is offset by the fact they removed the two 30% flat elemental damage boost statlines. for the majority of builds you will be doing either the same damage or less than before vs bosses. and a bit more than before vs regular mobs. the only reason cost would change is because its been talked about so much, reasonably the cost shouldnt be much different than every other league
Agree. it is fairly common so once the rush dies down after a day or two it will be cheap. However even when Lightning Strike Champ was the meta build it was still only 10c on day 1 and quickly dropped in value
Yeah you respec your ascendancy points then run normal lab and when you use the font at the end you can switch ascendancies. You can obviously only do it within your class, so Champion can switch to Slayer or Glad
End game yes but champ can get what I want out of a league start for less than a divine. I can then swap to slayer with all the easy currency I have farmed. Lightning Strike is gonna be crazy popular this league which means gear for it will also be expensive. Champ is bad now not denying that, but for a cheap build to get me my first 20-30 divines it will be very quick out the blocks. Champ is basically the new raider in my eyes. An ascendancy full of stuff you can get on gear and the tree but not for cheap early on, but after 1-2 weeks it is a worthless ascendancy. I want to have my atlas and 4 voidstones done in a day or so and I know this gets there very cheap
Worked for 100s of people already farming end game. I also say at the very beginning of the video it relies on uniques that you should buy straight away. I was pretty clear if you decided not to pay attention then that’s hardly the builds fault

bait build. Champion got absolutely gutted in every way imaginable just so it cannot even function as any kind of ranged ballista build or any build for that matter. Then adding lightning strike, which requires outside scaling to even have decent single target damage outside of mapping and everyone should know this is bait all the way. My advice to people who don't want to get the bait is to roll a chieften. Attack speed will ensure that most item bases on melee with attack speed will be incredibly expensive like bow builds which is why the low investment option is going to be a build that does not exactly rely on that like slams. Chieften gets 100% uptime on warcrys and your character is stationary while slamming so that -20% fires res makes it an easy choice to stack endurance charges, max res defences, damage, and eventually attack speed.

Yes. Instant leech is only from melee portion. That's why I'm thinking maybe go slayer this league.
Anything glaring you would change for HC? I typically use your builds hc just wondering if anything comes to mind besides normal node swapping

LS champ was one of my favorite builds ever.

Lightning Strike double hits but POB does not account for this so you have to add 2 gem setups. One set to Melee and one to Projectile. The third setup is the vaal skill as again POB does not calculate this and you get 2 charges so max burst damage on map bosses will be 1 x Lightning Strike Melee, 1 x Lightning Strike Projectiles and 2 x Vaal Lightning Strike.
If you wanted to see mapping DPS and Pinnacle Boss DPS you would disable the vaal part as this will not always be up, but you will always have it up for map bosses, guardians, etc when you reach them

is 4 million dmg is fine on T16 map ? i thought it should be 10+ million. and what minimum number of damage to fight pinnacle boss and uber pinnacle boss ? thank you im new to this game
No you need nowhere near 10 million for T16 maps unless you are juicing and using 4-5 delirium orbs. At league start a few million dps is ample for T16s.
First 2 pinnacle bosses are easy you can do them on a million. The second 2 are tougher but they take longer to unlock. Ubers are a different kettle of fish and take much better builds, but not many people will target Ubers with their league starter. I also hate bossing so never really design my characters to attempt them
Last league I killed Maven in SSF with 1 million dps. You need less than that for T16 maps unless you giga juice it.
Any recommendations for how to do a practice run while simulating the buffs?
It is hard to simulate as you will do quite a lot more damage next league. As Lightning Strike builds only used 1 totem I feel the skill has been given too much increased damage which will be hard to simulate in low level gear

I just came back at the end of necropolis after a long break , my lightning strike looks nothing like this game play , i only see +1 projectiles on most of the trees ive looked at , what am i missing ?
It is probably due to multistrike as this will send out more projectiles. The skill has 3 as base. You can get 1 more from the tree and 1 from getting quality on the gem. The vaal portion has more projectiles too, so sometimes you will see lots of projectiles and other times you wont

what are your thoughts on slayer vs warden for endgame?
I have not looked at them enough but for an overall build I would go slayer as the only defensive option I see people saying about Warden is freeze

I would think slayer would be better in hardcore champ lost fortify stacks and a lot of armour and evasion along with a defiance banner nerf. The build is also heavily reliant on the unique swords which are extremely common but dropping 2 is unlikely.

@@b44dsss didn’t even realise that. I guess it is balancing what is best as Vaal skills share souls so it means less charges for Vaal LS. Seems like a good option for maybe early on with bad gear

I don't think it's good unless you are on warden. The damage is about the same since.you lose 30% damage from point blank and a support gem. Early on when you are not as well geared returning proj often means it takes 2+3 hits to kill and enemy instead of 1.

Yes but it will involve switching to slayer as champion I am just using the ascendancy for a boost at league start. Later on in the league when gear is cheaper slayer will be much better

I don't think it would be great as things like block and lightning immunity would feel bad. It would work but I feel there would be way better builds for logbook farming

No it's fine. 4k life is high for this type of build. Remember we now.get bigger life roles on all items so you could probably push your life to 5k

Because of armour, multiple layors of evasion or shade charges, max res, spell suppression and jewels hat prevent shotgunning hp has become far less important than before for defense. It's still good but it's not be all end all.

+1 strike is more important and it is 1 rage every 1.2 seconds definitely not worth a glove implicit in my opinion as that is 36 seconds to get to 30%

Sorry not sold on ranger as a starter. With gear it looks good but so many builds are relying on the new taming to get damage and they will be expensive as they don’t drop they are a vendor recipe

why no vaal pact?
It turns off all recovery now so I would not get the life recovery from the ascendancy and I also think you cannot use life flasks. I am not sure I like the look of new vaal pact
even though it should be able to abuse both instant and normal leech, it's still expensive to setup :( already calculated at least around 20 for tanky setup with good DPS

for the majority of builds you will be doing either the same damage or less than before vs bosses. and a bit more than before vs regular mobs.
the only reason cost would change is because its been talked about so much, reasonably the cost shouldnt be much different than every other league

Agree. it is fairly common so once the rush dies down after a day or two it will be cheap. However even when Lightning Strike Champ was the meta build it was still only 10c on day 1 and quickly dropped in value

Yeah you respec your ascendancy points then run normal lab and when you use the font at the end you can switch ascendancies. You can obviously only do it within your class, so Champion can switch to Slayer or Glad
A shame about the spammy buffs, kinda a deal breaker for me sadly.

End game yes but champ can get what I want out of a league start for less than a divine. I can then swap to slayer with all the easy currency I have farmed. Lightning Strike is gonna be crazy popular this league which means gear for it will also be expensive.
Champ is bad now not denying that, but for a cheap build to get me my first 20-30 divines it will be very quick out the blocks. Champ is basically the new raider in my eyes. An ascendancy full of stuff you can get on gear and the tree but not for cheap early on, but after 1-2 weeks it is a worthless ascendancy. I want to have my atlas and 4 voidstones done in a day or so and I know this gets there very cheap

Worked for 100s of people already farming end game. I also say at the very beginning of the video it relies on uniques that you should buy straight away. I was pretty clear if you decided not to pay attention then that’s hardly the builds fault

I mean it is explained in the video. Slayer costs money to gear up champ doesn't. I can then just switch to slayer when I have currency

bait build. Champion got absolutely gutted in every way imaginable just so it cannot even function as any kind of ranged ballista build or any build for that matter. Then adding lightning strike, which requires outside scaling to even have decent single target damage outside of mapping and everyone should know this is bait all the way.
My advice to people who don't want to get the bait is to roll a chieften. Attack speed will ensure that most item bases on melee with attack speed will be incredibly expensive like bow builds which is why the low investment option is going to be a build that does not exactly rely on that like slams. Chieften gets 100% uptime on warcrys and your character is stationary while slamming so that -20% fires res makes it an easy choice to stack endurance charges, max res defences, damage, and eventually attack speed.
