      it was, not Jay Wilbur's rendition but Maurice Winnick's one in a collab album called "past present and forever"

    i remember my Dad singing this about 1949 - maybe there was a version which came out then in the post- war spirit.
    Such a sweet song..

      I too remember this from when I was about 4years old. My Mother used to sing this most days and more than once a day.It would have been around 1949.

    I remember hearing this as a kid too, when I grew up in the 1950's. I always thought that a version was recorded by Max Bygraves, but apparently not.

      if we're both talking about the same person here, he seems to have sung it, but the cover itself has been uploaded onto the internet yet.
