Of course EMG PJ configuration is VW groovy sound but I love Fodera/Seymour Duncan pickups' sound and their versatility (with the choice single coil/humbucker).
@Gabriele Squaratti I mean I’d rather them not. It’s ok to think his playing is the best man. You prolly a big fan. I just think Mike Bendy does a better job demonstrating Fodera instruments.
@Gabriele Squaratti oh so you’re an SJW. Oh good for you. Teaching all the big bad guys a lesson online for saying mean things. If you are this sensitive to people’s opinions maybe you should reconsider visiting RUclips or any other site. It was a comment and one that was made/intended playfully. Hope your day gets better punkin
That cab sound on its own sounds a bit weird, esp with the EMG's, but I bet it would absolutely slice through a mix without covering anything up in the lows and highs.
I'd guess they're the alnico. Wooten spec. Which is the PJAX set I think. I'm putting this combo in a Ritter clone scratch build. Seems the right balance of warmth and clarity for me.
Some of the legends/descriptions are incorrect. As mentioned before, neck-pickup in humbucking mode for the SDs is incorrect; that's definitely both pickups. Equally, both pickups in single-coil mode for the SDs is incorrect; that's definitely neck-pickup.
Nice Bass! Thanks for this vid, when using this purple heart wood for fretboard, how does fodera finish it (or otherwise) to prevent it losing the vibrant purple colour ? Thanks!
I thought this was a PJ pickup set vs a PJ pickup set. It's not. Since nobody has a bass that will fit both of these sets, what's the point in comparing? I'm trying to decide which PJ set to buy.
There's quite a few videos comparing various PJ sets. I went with the EMG PJ-X, with an EMG BQC System, in my main bass a couple years ago, and I still absolutely love the tones, the versatility, the reliability, to the punch through the mix that can be felt in your bones.
At 2:45 that's definitely both pickups in single-coil mode, not the neck pickup in humbucking mode.
Yep the EMG pickups for me for sure they sound much better to my ears
WHOAAAAAA!!! these are awesome.
The prettiest bass I have ever seen and heard

PLEASE do a demo without slapping!
Really I thought his finger style was even worse than his slapping 😂😂 Mike Bendy should be playing

The EMG config for me ...
Duncans... nice, but prefer the EMGs. However, in regular pizzicato I'd take the Duncan's.

EMG for the win.
Hi fodera, are the PJ pick ups in this video the original EMG PJ set or are they a modified design for you guys?

The wooten is pax and jvx

and you don’t care about half the body turning dark?
Seymour! Bottoms up 🎵🎶
To my ears the EMG's highs are more unforgiven. Kind of a piezoelectric pickup mixed in...

I searched for Fodera pj vs dual coils so this is perfect for me.
It's a Fodera demo made for potential Fodera customers. These are the two primary options for one of their four string basses.

EMG all the way
ok.. i'll take both.. any discount for both? haha just kidding.. maybe some day i'll have a fodera!! ..even the DI only sounds amazing
emg+
Idk but…
I cant hear 10k usd on this video at all…
Something is off…🤔
Seymours for me, but the bottom line is my skill level is no where equal to one of these bad ass guitars 😁
Leo got it right. Full humbuckers on bass sound like a wet fart, too much low end.
😉
Emg wins
