Kind of interesting the actor playing the drum teacher was a professional drummer student in his youth, the producers didn’t even know that before he got that gig.
I actually met Burgess Meredith at a fire base in Vietnam. He was the only Hollywood actor to go out to the field when I was with the Big Red One. He was the nicest person ever. He flew in by helicopter and walked right up to us in the open in a hostile area. One of the best memories of Vietnam.
The Rocky scene is absolute pure gold. In my opinion was the realism of somebody who opens up when someone leaves the room. Screaming for help that was needed a time ago.
I agree Joshua. Awesome scene. We are all flawed people, broken and alone. We cannot affect the winds of change, but we can set our own sails. Remember to set your sail straight and true, and do not deviate to the right or the left. Be your authentic self.

Sly never gets enough credit for his acting. He may have been pushed to be a "B-list action star", but Rocky is HIS masterpiece. Not just acting, but writing. When you watch Rocky movies, you're not seeing Stallone playing Rocky Balboa. What you're seeing is Sylvester Stallone being Rocky Balboa. There are few actors who have put so much heart, mind and soul into playing a character like Sylvester Stallone did with Rocky.

In elementary school my music teacher gave me my first panic attack. She was a spiteful woman who despised kids who didn't excel in music. I felt trapped in a cage during her classes and I was "sick" a lot of times on those days. Sometimes I find myself grateful I had her as a music teacher as opposed to J.K. Simmons.
The jazz band scene was my high school band class everyday lol. I know we're called "geeks," but that doesn't negate the violence between the conductor and the drummers :)
I remember my junior high band teacher losing his mind every now and. He would throw shit and scream at us. That was than any athletic coach I had because it was hard to figure out what to fix.
In 4th grade, we all had to pick an instrument to play. Wanted to play drums like every boy but my parents said they would be too "loud", so I picked the trumpet which isn't exactly a quiet instrument! Anyway, I hated it from the get go. One morning, we were in band practice and I blew a really loud "clam". Well, the music teacher goes batshit crazy, gets red in the face and starts screaming "who did that"? I was scared to admit that it was me, although he probably knew. Never admitted it, he finally calmed down and the next day I quit the trumpet and never played an instrument in school again.
It's always roughest on drummers. It's like the intensity of the drummers' correction increases in proportion to the size of the band. And regardless of how many mistakes everyone else makes, it's always the drums who get sorted out first if they're not perfect. I played the clarinet/bass clarinet, so I had it easy.
"I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could've been somebody" Every man will say that at some point in their life. I don't care who you are or who you think you are now. You will think it or say it out loud. Time is not on your side.

oh man Sylvester Stallones performance is just .... i can describe it, im still speechless. The voice acting, the facial expressions, even how he walks as Rocky. Thats just mindblowing. Now i have to rewatch the full rocky series
Sadly, Rocky was the only movie I watched out of all of these. In fact, it was the only movie I saw out of the three “great scenes of all time“ series. 🤷🏼♀️
The scene at the end of On the Waterfront in which Brando’s character finally lets Johnny Friendly have it is also epic. TCM used to include a bit of it in their commercial for their Essentials series and just that ten seconds or so made me watch the movie. He’s the GOAT.
The scene from Marley, is from the heart! The hardest thing in this world to do, is to put a pet to rest, after all the love that you have given each other. I know if had to do it twice. The crying, the tears, the heartache, is so intense, you think it will never, ever go away. When you come home the next day, and your companion, your loving best friend isn’t there. You realise a part of your heart is gone, and it will ever be there again. I have told many of my friends, who say, I can get another pet, they won’t be like him or her! They aren’t supposed to be, each pet is different in their own way, they all have different personalities. That is why we’re love each of their funny things they do, the different ways they show us they love us. And in the end, that piece of heart that you loose, is replaced by a different piece of heart, that loves just as much, just in a different way, and you’ll find a heart full of memories and many new ways to love!
I had to take our German Shepherd Dog to the vet to be euthanized - he was only 7.5 years old. I cried like a little boy all the way home. I swore to myself that I would never have another dog.... it's just too heart-breaking at the end of their life.

I can agree these are all fantastic scenes and the best monologues were also great, but the lack of actresses in these collections when so many exist is not equally represented when they do in fact exist. Please try to also acknowledge these scenes and monologues.
A time to kill - mathhew mconaughey - end speech in court True romance - christoper walken and dennis hopper scene Inglorious bastards - opening scene Dangerous mind - michelle pfeiffer class speech, no victims The champ - ricky schroder end scene Braveheart - mel gibson battle scene what will you do without freedom Full metal jackt - r lee ermey , sergeant hartman speech Just a few others that come to mind. Damn i love movies
I feel like that one’s cheating. Any scene with a dying dog is gonna be a tear jerker. You put the dog next to a cardboard box instead of Owen and it would still be a powerful scene.
I love Robin Williams. My two favorite movies with him are Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting amazing acting by him in both. Will forever miss you and your amazing talent.
@@reeblite My favorite Rod Steiger preformance was in his movie 'No Way To Treat A lady' Inwich he played a variety of characters including an Irish priest and a camp hair dresser. Paul Bacchus
Watching this reminded me there was once a time were Michael Fassbender starred in good movies & was good in them. But that was all before Assassins Creed & The Snowman.
You should see the movie “Shame”. Fassbinder’s acting is unnerving and full on soul bearing. In today’s internet age MANY PEOPLE will find Fassbinder’s character and the subject matter too uncomfortable and way too close to home.
Other great scenes I'm thinking of: Paul Newman's monologue at the end of The Verdict. George C. Scott's monologue at the beginning of Patton; Robert Shaw's monologue about the U.S.S. Indianapolis in Jaws; Mike talking to Fredo privately in Godfather II (You're nothing to me now);
I think what’s truly jarring about the “not my tempo” scene from Whiplash is that we’ve all been in a situation like that. We’re doing something new, in a room we’ve never been in with people we don’t know being instructed by somebody we also don’t know. But they have this authority over us. We make mistakes and they assure us it’s okay despite the obvious frustration because “hey, I’d be frustrated too!” We’re out of our element, on edge and anxious. Normally things just work out, but after putting ourselves in Miles Tellers’ shoes for the past 30ish minutes, we watch him get a chair thrown at his head, he gets screamed at and threatened, and we feel that shake of disbelief.
I love that scene in Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air but I have to admit the best scene from that show was when Will's dad left him, again, and he is telling Uncle Carl about it. That was one of the best scenes of that show. Maybe if you make another one of these videos that could be added. 🤷 These are great though. Some movies here I've never heard of especially the first one, Whiplash, holy crap. 😧
I watched Steve Jobs recently and holy crap the acting and dialogue in that film is fantastic! As much as I love Michael Fassbender, I feel like no one gives Seth Rogen enough credit in this film cause he absolutely killed it! He should've been nominated for Best Supporting Actor!
I'm glad to see Rocky here. I love that scene,. And when the music kicks in at the end and you don't hear what he says but you see him put his arm around Mick and just know he apologizes and accepts his offer.
@9:59 His expression is so humble, yet so passionate! He wasn't acting. He really believed this. The human soul is so complex, yet so simple. We rush and rush for meaning, yet the meaning of it is always right in front us; poetry, art, love, romance, music, literature, beauty.
So many people think of Rocky and enjoy the cheesy fights or the training montages. But the magic of that first movie was Rock and Mick and a raw story of grit and failed dreams.
Fresh Prince may not be the best acted or scripted among these clips but its amazing to hear the mutterings of the studio audience. You can feel the electricity as the realisation sets in that this is serious and the actors are going for it. Wonderful Live performance which the movies cant replicate.
Dang it! Thank you so friggin much for a great 23.14 minutes of my life! And for bringing some scenes and actors no one ever shows as 'the best'. I am not so keen on Stallone as an actor (apart from Copland), but together with his coach they are so... real. Joe Pesci in this movie I never heard of....magnificent!! Dont get me started on TSN and Garfield/Eisenberg..thats total brilliance. Same goes for Robin Williams & those boys, and ofcourse for Michael Fassbender, dear God yes!, but also Seth Rogen seriously holding his ground in this scene. Keepin' it so real! But the one who keeps a dry eye with the Marley scene with Owen Wilson, is , well....inhumane. I loved that scene, that dog and that acting so much. Its like a scene from everybody's veterinarian room, when they have to say goodbye to their treasure of an animal....
@TheActorsAcademy What is the theme music that plays before the actual content of the video starts? It is BEAUTIFUL! Is it part of an actual full song?
It depends. If you don’t have any real material to offer up yet, I wouldn’t offer your monologues unless the agent asked for it OR if your monologues/filming was so well done, than I’d make the exception. Typically actors who are new/younger can get away with not having much to any material in the beginning
Who remembers the closing scene in first blood with Sylvester Stallone. The scene which captured how Vietnam veterans felt they were treated in America after the war. phenomenal acting job.

Joe peschii and the Robin Williams speech surmises everything one needs to listen to , To add their own verses to the Verse we call Life. ♥️
My son is 15 and he introduced me to Whiplash!! Awesome movie!! So glad it was put on this list somewhere!!🔥
I can agree these are all fantastic scenes and the best monologues were also great, but the lack of actresses in these collections when so many exist is not equally represented when they do in fact exist. Please try to also acknowledge these scenes and monologues.
Agreed
Stallone is so under appreciated as top notch drama actor. The man is a genius
Yep, definitely. He's always been framed as a dumb brute, but he knows how to act write and direct hard hitting stuff.
Absolutely and watch his portrayal in Copland, simply superb.
@@vivianokon7256 he was excellent in FIST
Stallone. God, Rocky was/is just so, so great. And Stallone was an open wound in that scene.
A time to kill - mathhew mconaughey - end speech in court
True romance - christoper walken and dennis hopper scene
Inglorious bastards - opening scene
Dangerous mind - michelle pfeiffer class speech, no victims
The champ - ricky schroder end scene
Braveheart - mel gibson battle scene what will you do without freedom
Full metal jackt - r lee ermey , sergeant hartman speech
Just a few others that come to mind.
Damn i love movies
I can see why that Labrador Retriever was put on the list. That dog deserved an academy award. It's co-actor wasn't bad either.
This is pure magic, thanks for
posting, Marlon Brando and
Rod Stigar ftom On The
Waterfront is my favorite.
Paul Bacchus
Rod Steiger. Yes, Steiger was considered as good as Brando to some.
@@reeblite My favorite Rod Steiger preformance was in his
movie 'No Way To Treat A lady'
Inwich he played a variety
of characters including an
Irish priest and a camp hair
dresser. Paul Bacchus
Watching this reminded me there was once a time were Michael Fassbender starred in good movies & was good in them. But that was all before Assassins Creed & The Snowman.
Assassin’s Creed I thought was actually pretty good.
yeah... but now he’s in next goal wins with taika waititi and assassin with david fincher so maybe he’ll redeem himself lmaoooo
I think Ashton did a better job portraying Steve
You should see the movie “Shame”. Fassbinder’s acting is unnerving and full on soul bearing. In today’s internet age MANY PEOPLE will find Fassbinder’s character and the subject matter too uncomfortable and way too close to home.
Dead poets society, one of my favorite movies ever. The kind of teacher I wish I had.
💯 I'm grateful every day to have lived at the same time as Robin Williams.
Other great scenes I'm thinking of: Paul Newman's monologue at the end of The Verdict. George C. Scott's monologue at the beginning of Patton; Robert Shaw's monologue about the U.S.S. Indianapolis in Jaws; Mike talking to Fredo privately in Godfather II (You're nothing to me now);
Pesci's actually a very decent actor.
Ah man, wasn't expecting Marley and Me to come up. Crying so much.
14:05 in this scene I always think ,,shut up timberlake, this is great acting"
Right?! He's adding nothing good to that scene. Treating it like an snl skit!
@@MasterOfMagnet2099 thx
maybe its in your other videos, but Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking. The scene when he finally owned up to crime to Susan Sarandon's character.
OMG! In my opinion "On the Waterfront" is one of the Five Absolutely Perfect Movies Ever Made!
Thank you for posting these. I love your videos with these movie clips. Next time please keep the movie title up, please.
…and then we sue the bastard for all he’s worth.
The Rocky scene and the Facebook scene are my favorites from both movies!
Totally agree, the two best scenes in both films.
Whiplash is a trippy movie. It surprises you. A must see. It isawesome.
Simmons character was best villain ever.
Did you ever watch the HBO series OZ? Pure evil,
Simmons is equally villainous in _21 Bridges_ , Chadwick Boseman's last movie. Highly recommended. 👍🏻
The folk hero James Dean! Hard to believe he only made 3 movies.
Good luck to all my fellow actors. Good luck
I watched Steve Jobs recently and holy crap the acting and dialogue in that film is fantastic! As much as I love Michael Fassbender, I feel like no one gives Seth Rogen enough credit in this film cause he absolutely killed it! He should've been nominated for Best Supporting Actor!
Slings a chair at the drummer and breaks something. “Ya, we cover that”.
Lmmfao
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
I'm glad to see Rocky here. I love that scene,. And when the music kicks in at the end and you don't hear what he says but you see him put his arm around Mick and just know he apologizes and accepts his offer.
That was a wonderful contribution. Thanks.
I cant believe I still havent watched Whiplash yet. I need to watch that shit ASAp
Idk what movie that first scene is from.. but that scene was intense asf 😂
Whiplash, in case you wanted to watch it for more intensity 😅
That movie is a very great one. Go watch it.
@9:59 His expression is so humble, yet so passionate! He wasn't acting. He really believed this. The human soul is so complex, yet so simple. We rush and rush for meaning, yet the meaning of it is always right in front us; poetry, art, love, romance, music, literature, beauty.
Fassbenders Hamlet is the greatest film adaptation. His performance is unsurpassed.
All were great. JK Simmons was out of this world. Whiplash was spectacular.
Rocky… brilliant beyond belief!!
Wozniak "It's not binary. You can be decent and gifted at the same time."
That line is very important right there.
@@muhammadosamaraza4105 nah
Shame that the Pac scene from “Juice” when he 1st snapped won’t be on any list. That’s the monologue I use when I audition…& it’s SO golden…
"Give me the gun!" --goes on to play guys with guns.
So many people think of Rocky and enjoy the cheesy fights or the training montages. But the magic of that first movie was Rock and Mick and a raw story of grit and failed dreams.
The Marley and me scene always gets me...🥰
Like all Jennifer Aniston movies,,,, instantly forgettable
Fresh Prince may not be the best acted or scripted among these clips but its amazing to hear the mutterings of the studio audience. You can feel the electricity as the realisation sets in that this is serious and the actors are going for it. Wonderful Live performance which the movies cant replicate.
Oh Burgess......what an amazing scene!
I became a sobbing puddle watching Marley and Me!
Just watched the social network for the first time today! Good movie
I was surprised by how much I liked that film.
@TheActorsAcademy
What is the theme music that plays before the actual content of the video starts? It is BEAUTIFUL! Is it part of an actual full song?
Hi. Is it ok if i give an agent some monologues I have done since I don’t have a demo reel or played In anything yet
It depends. If you don’t have any real material to offer up yet, I wouldn’t offer your monologues unless the agent asked for it OR if your monologues/filming was so well done, than I’d make the exception. Typically actors who are new/younger can get away with not having much to any material in the beginning
yes!
@@TheActorsAcademy luckily I’m just 14 :D
That first scene...WOW. The boiling rage the viewer feels toward the bully bandleader means that the role is being played to perfection.
Who remembers the closing scene in first blood with Sylvester Stallone. The scene which captured how Vietnam veterans felt they were treated in America after the war. phenomenal acting job.
13:50 makes me cry every time! Forgiveness is so hard but so beautiful esp between a father and son figure
Giant is a great movie. Great drunk scenes and great fight scenes.
"What will your verse be? "
"I wanna be your manager. "
Though I am a big fan of Leonardo, Michael Fassbender should have won that oscar
Whyyy did you have to show “Marley and Me”? 😭
