In this fishing episode we run into flag yellowtail snapper. The reason these yellowtail snapper are named flags is because they are monster yellowtail snapper! They have big yellow flag tails.
One of the yellowtail snapper we caught was even bigger than a mutton snapper in this snapper catch and cook. Both the flag yellowtail snapper and mutton snapper will be used in the fish head soup we are making on this catch & cook. I love making fish soup because it's a nice warm and filling meal. Fish head soup has amazing flavors.
I also talk a bit about my fishing rigs and how to catch snapper. You will be able to find the snapper fishing rigs on the South Florida Fishing Channel website next month! So if you are coming to the florida keys make sure you know how to catch yellowtail snapper and also how to catch mutton snapper because it's the perfect place to catch them.
The fish head soup really utilizes almost all parts of the mutton snapper and yellowtail snapper in this catch n cook. The fishing video also shows everything from how to catch fish all the way on how to clean fish and cook fish.
I try to give a lot of information during the catch and cook part of the show on how to make fish soup so you can also make this fish head soup at home. And this fish soup catch and cook will work with not only snapper but pretty much any fish.
I hope you enjoyed this Flag Yellowtail & Mutton Snapper Fish Head Soup Key Largo Catch and Cook fishing episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel. I have some awesome fishing videos in production! Please leave a like and comment to show your support. Thank you!

Trigger Fish are good eating. Though they have firm meat they're still great. If you gut them and grill them whole and dip it with a mixture of soy sauce, lemon or lime, and onion, it tastes amazing

Wear a scuba mask when cutting onions never cried since I started doing it. Also roast the veg in a large baking dish at 400 degrees 30 min for carmalazation, in the stove top pan over crowding prevented the process from happening. Also I have a sweet and easy knife sharpener I want to give you next time Im in KL prolly in 2 weeks hope to pick up a couple rigs from you then too.

Delicious looking soup. Another good way to try, after you strain the soup, put and boil half the vegetables. Then using a blender or hand blender, blend it all. Put back on stove and drop rest of vegetables and fish filets without using tomatoes or tomato puree. Round it up at the end with some heavy cream or half & half!

OH yeah and pro fish broth tip, put all the potatoes and carrots and garlic and stuff in the water to boil first, add the fish last, you'll get all the broth and also all the meat because the fish meat will still stick to the bone instead of breaking apart. The fish only needs about 15 mins in the boil. Then you just suck the meat off the bone like meat off of ribs. yummmmm
