- The Alvis Stalwart is a 6x6 amphibious truck that served with the British Army from 1963 to 1993. Over 1,000 were built by Alvis in Coventry, UK, between 1960 and 1971 for Britain, and the vehicle was also used in limited numbers by the armed forces of other nations. The load capacity is 5 tonnes, and the 6.5L Rolls-Royce petrol engine can take the 'Stolly' to a top speed of 40mph on roads. When swimming, water-jet propulsion units deliver a speed of 4 knots. The all-welded hull means that the driver and any passengers have to climb into the cab through hatches in the roof. This Stalwart was on display at the Tanks, Trucks and Firepower show in August 2023.
