Sarah is walking around filming with the Sony A7SII "lens whacking" in case you were wondering!
Thanks Mr Bloom for posting this.
Isabella Plantation is a lovely spot where my Mother often visited when she was alive.
I grew up round the Park but haven't been back to the Plantation for a while, not until now that is.
Thanks again for this gentle piece.
All the best.
Lovely work Philip. It's great to see someone who clearly knows what they are doing using these lenses! They seem like a great value for the price.
Great work Phillip as always. Good to see Sarah take stage centre and frame at last.
Beautiful work. Those red flowers complimented her skin tones lovely. You cannot beat filming in a garden or park on a summers day.
One of my favourites! Simply beautiful!
just in awh cos of the video in total, your colorgrading is inspirational, and the music makes this such joy to watch.
Cool mood with lovely visuals, as usual!
Love is a beautiful thing. Nice work.
Wonderful shot! I love the tone of the flowers!
I must know that this video is beautiful not because of SLR Magic Cine Primes but because it is filmed and edited by Philip Bloom. I must know... - my credit card said.
everytime phillip upload new video. happy come to my mind.
😍👏👏👏beautiful work
Beautiful movie master Bloom and she is very pretty!!!
Pure bliss! Beautiful!
Amazing sir. You have a true talent of taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. I've always been a fan.
Awesome look, it reminded me a bit what I get from my Helios 44m
I clicked on this video because I wanted to have a look and see if these lenses are any good (especially the 75mm) but I keep getting distracted by how beautifully shot and edited the video is! Dang it! :)
This is unbelievable SLR magic, good lord those aperture numbers,
cant wait for them to build a full frame Anamorphic lens
Another great video. Just goes to show the simple things are the best.
such beautiful colors. Really love that handheld look!
So beautiful and peaceful! Really nice video Philip!
Hi Philip, did you have a chance to test the MicroPrime Cine series? What are the key differences? Thank you :)
hallo!whati is the deifference between microprime and cine lenses?
Stunning work featuring my favourite person. 😎😎 So inspiring making me want to try shooting something like this.
Theses lenses clearly need to be in my collection!!
I just bought the 50mm. Can't wait till it gets here.
love the colorssss ahhhhhhh.
Beautiful all around
Lovely shots, great video!
Very poetic ! I love your work !
wow...over the top awesome, Mr. Bloom!
mikewinburn huh!???
Philip Bloom ... edited for clarity... your vids have all been Enjoyable... but this one was over the top...full of emotion, pace was excellent, and the story was intriguing. ( the color grading / post work choices are always professional in your vids... that's been foundational for your portfolio here on RUclips.) I look forward to the next short film.
I like this footage so much that I have watched it few times. I wonder there is slight grainy effect of this video. Is it b/c of SLRMagic lens or the FilmConvert Fuji Velvia stock you applied? Please guide. Thank You.
Just marry her, she changed your blog/posts with some injection of happiness and love.
I thought the same way...
the title of the song is 'soon'.
nice one there philip ;)

Dude this looks amazing
Love that look! 75mm F1.4 WOW
Bloomin' beautiful ;-)
That was cracking good! Love it!
Well, that was just lovely Philip
Your work is always great. Love this.
Love the punchy reds!
Great video. I wonder are these lenses worth buying now? Just purchased a7r ii. Read that these lenses are not at all sharp around edges and overall, not sharp at all. Pls guide.
Great cheap lenses. If you want sharp lenses then get modern Sony glass. If you want something with character and more like a vintage lens then get these.
@@philipbloom ty. But i wonder these lens has soft edges and sharpness in middle. Thats pretty much sort of unacceptable right?
@@milanjani7615 I think i've already replied. It sounds like you want modern pin sharp lenses. That is not these. Look at the Firenze video too, that was also mostly shot with SLR MAGIC
@@philipbloom ty. I just saw firenze video and for some strange reasons, I love this lens.... :-) this look infact appears quite cinematic.... :-) then regular 4k footage which is too sharp looking artificial...
Lovely. A touch of the 70s.... maybe that's just me.
I was thinking about the 70s too. Lovely feel indeed.
Great colour rendition.
Jaw dropingly beautiful, that is all.
Very good job. Beautiful. What about focus breathing with this lenses, Philip?
Lovely work Phillip!
Quick question, what is the lowest aperture that you feel comfortable shooting with these lenses in order to maintain the maximum sharpness of the lens without the image falling apart and/or excessive vignetting? Thank!
Beautiful! Well made!
Loved it
What do you think about the 35 f1.2? I have the sony a6500. It's good for the price? You already compared it with the rokinon/samyang 35 1.4? Thanks
I am interested in the same thing.
I did the review and comparisons with Samyang on SonyAlphaRumors, including the 75mm f/1.4
www.sonyalpharumors.com/slr-magic-cine-35mm-f1-2-75mm-f1-4-battle-samyang-counterparts/
Does 12mm and 25mm have the same sensor size coverage? I bought to of those lens and using on my MFT sensor and the 25mm looks like 50mm and it's perfect but the 12mm looks way wider than 14mm. Is it just the way it feels or is it actuary wider? If anybody can answer, please comment on this.
Beautiful, slog 2 s-gamut, any in camera saturation or color phase changes? thanks!
Damn that is some beautiful grading. Nice work!
Excellent film!!!! If you only can afford one of the lenses, which one do you recommend then?
Hey, Great footage. Do you know where I can rent these lenses in the UK?
That looks so nice. A great 'look' and feel to it. Looking forward to seeing what short cinematic feature you'll shoot with the Fuji XT2.....hint, hint ;-)
Hi Philip. how do the lenses compare to rokinon or other budget cine lenses? love this video too btw.
Hi Philip, So nice! May I ask what aspect ratio your export was to get that wide look?
Beautiful cinematography, thank you. I find it interesting that the bokeh is similar to Russian lenses, like the Mir/Helios/Jupiter. The SLR lenses are a great deal.
Man, I just got my first camera a few days ago that is capable of shooting S-Log. I understand how to expose using a Grey Card and Zebras, but grading is another task entirely. The grade here is fantastic.
Since the lens thread of these cine lenses is 82mm, will any of their anamorphic adapters work well with it? and if so, which one is recommended to pair it with?
brock b sorry they aren’t. I believe they are 52mm.
@@philipbloom Oh really? hmmm, guess my research was wrong. well if they are, then even better since the less expensive options for their anamorphic adapters cover 52mm threading. Ill have to research more but thanks for your reply and what a wonderful video!
you are probably referring the the SLR Magic Micro Primes which are all 82mm @@brockb4452
@@philipbloom Yes, thats right. ok thanks sorry for the misunderstanding
Nice video, please can you tell lens manufacturers especially Fuji, to give us an 18mm f1.2 lens I will be very grateful...
This lens has a beautiful character
HI Philip, have you tried the Anamorphot 40 1.33x adapter on these by any chance?
Love this video..
So what camera settings do you use? Asking for Trevin.
Beautiful picture ! the A7RII is better than A7S II ?
Why he is using the a7rii for video?
Philip Bloom must have been a DSLR in his previous lives
Really nice cinematography there Philip! Nice to see the aspect ratio on my ultrawide!
I did notice some dust on the sensor and already thought about the A7SII.... Had too many times... What are your thoughts about it? Nice lenses btw!
Such a dreamy look. Just bought the sör magic yesterday.. tried it out once, it's great. Very unsharp in the corners but that dreamy look of the lense is just gorgeous. Focusring is a little slow..
I noticed that this video is quite a wide aspect ratio? I checked the stats for nerd section and it says 1920x818. Did not realise RUclips accepted natively content that isn't 16:9 without black bars?
I assume black bars added in post so the file is still 16:9
Yes. It does.
There are many reasons not to "overlay" black bars on top of a 16:9 file but actually create a project in the aspect ratio that you want it to be in. As Matthew discovered - Mr. Bloom did the same.
fantastic job!!
inspires me to do something.
the model is beautifull
Love the grade!
Can i know what app u use for editing? And what kind of filter? Thank u
hi phillip! Really enjoyed the video. The SLR prime lenses, very nice! question, have you compared these lenses to the Veydras? I'm looking for small cine primes and this and the Veydra are high on my list. BTW - I shoot almost exlusively in super 35. THanks!
Oh I found this most lovey! I take back what I said about the bokeh... Its quite magical! How are the mechanics? I'll have to rent a set...
Love this video!
Very good job Philip
Is there a preset for the color grading?
Wow Philip, I'm actually very impressed by these Cine primes. They kind of remind of some of the older speed panchros and Anamorphic superspeeds. Much cleaner than adapting Anamorphic scopes with taking lens and much more practical and usable for real world shooting. Love the bokeh and the color reproduction. Overall how would you say they are to work with in terms of pulling focus and the smoothness of the gears?
How would you describe the smoothness of the focus ring?
Talent. Art.
Beautiful work Philip, I always look forward to seeing your art! Was all this shot with manual focus? Can you tell me what lens you used for at 2:48. Thank you!
David Denofreo thank you. Yes all manual. That's the 25mm F1.4
I was going to ask the same question! Again, beautiful work Philip! I've been following your blog for years now, thanks for continuing to create incredible work! Also, are you still shooting Cine4 over Slog2? I want to switch to Cine1 for a better highlight rolloff, but I still want a wide DR.
Indeed Magic!
What camera setting do you use? @bradleyfriesen
did you use Sony fs5 with atomos shogun inferno's latest update? ( 120 fps burst mood in DCI 4k)
Exquisite!
wow.. beautiful.
Such a beautiful video. I've been shooting on the 50 1.1 for about 6 months now and I have the 25 1.4 coming in the mail tomorrow. Your work with these lenses is beautiful and it's great to see you using them! Love to hear your thoughts on them sometime.
Love this!
Did you use an anamorphic adapter or is this a letterbox?
John Ros there is nothing even slightly anamorphic going on here. I have cropped the image. That's all.
would anyone recommend the Slr Magic primes over the Rokinon Ds lenses?
Anyone know how to reduce youtube or other web hosts from changing color in video when uploaded?
What "cage" is cradling that a7sII she's using?
movcam
JessePigeon Thanks!
2:11 you used FF with the A7r2, isn´t it? Great video.
Lorenzo Studio it's all Sony A7Rii as I say in description.
My question is: did you use FF and S35 mode both isn´t it? Because even FF in the A7R2 seems to have great quality.
that was also my question :D Especially since i was told that the edges of the slr magic cine lenses perform really bad, but in your video they look fine.
Sooo chilled
Magical.
Watched 5 times in a row, beautiful. Are you using any type of stabilizer?
MegaMat A7Rii has in-body stabilization, but I don't recall any stabilizers from his Instagram stories he posted whole shooting this ☺️
MegaMat it's handheld as I say in description!
MegaMat thank you!
Lol, Philip hates it when you ask him a question that he details in the description! Lol I see it on almost all his videos.... do a video about that Philip.
Красиво красиво конечно же, автор молодец!!!
