    Thanks for stopping by! So I'm here to DE-mystify planned pooling. I recently learned this crochet technique and want to share it with everyone who is scared to try. It does seem complicated, but after watching a few videos and one class on Interweave - I've broken it down into a 12 minute video.
    Head over to my blog for the patterns you see here and a great tutorial with photos and step-by-step printable instructions on planned pooling!

    Do you have a subject you'd like me to cover? Let me know and I will create a video just for you! Please leave it in the comments or head over to any one of my social media and hit me up.
    Also, coming soon is a series on Tunisian Crochet - My goal is to teach as many people as possible how simple and beautiful Tunisian Crochet is and how easy it is to mix traditional crochet with Tunisian to create beautiful garments, pillows, scarves, etc. Let's learn together.
    Please check out my stores, and subscribe to my channel ;) (I need 10,000!) - have a loooooooooong way to go lol.
    I hope you learned something new today :).

    I found a link to your blog post from Pinterest last night. Previously, I've watched two separate hour-long tutorials on planned pooling and could NOT figure it out. I've frogged so much. However, after just *reading* your blog post, I was able to successfully pool! I can barely believe it considering how many times I've tried using those other tutorials videos. THANK YOU so much for sharing your knowledge!

      Oh thank you 🙏 so much for the Super Thanks! You’re my first one! I’m sooo happy you figured it out using my tutorial. It’s definitely a tricky crochet technique. It feels so good to finally get it! Thanks again, this made my day!

    I’m working with lion brand bundle of love in the color chamomile rn. It’s the exact same color order! I learned to do it with the moss stitch and skipping a stitch every other row. Beautiful argyle. Can’t wait to see how this one turned out! 🙂

      @@JcareInternational Thank you so much! I’m so happy it’s simple. I’m loving the attention this getting as I did it years ago.
      Yesterday I went through and found a ton of new yarns, and going to make a big list :)

    Thank you for this - I have watched tons of vids, put in all the #s in the calc. bought two brands of planned pooling, done knit and moss stitch crochet and was still not getting it to work. This makes sense - to not do the chain at the end - that's where I could not get it to work - and they all had me chaining...I put it all away and went back to another knitting project - and now I think I'll get all of it out and try again - doing SC and no chain. I really appreciate this - it was sort of driving me nuts and I was going to give up - but I really want to make one of these just to prove I can do it - I taught knit and crochet for years and I"m certified - and boy was this making me feel so dumb. I'll give your method a go!

      Thanks so much! I am so happy that this helps. I too was terrified of planned pooling. I even ordered a tutorial from Craftsy, but for some reason, even their explanation didn't give me the full scope of how to work it. They just used moss stitch and it seemed so confusing to me. So I ended up piecing together bits and pieces of information from various tutorials and put it all together into one blog. I go back and read my own blog when I want to make a new project too! I hope you can get it to work for you. I was so happy to finally conquer this technique!

    I love it, working with red heart super saver pooling in color party pooling fiesta, using 63 stitches, 5 mm hook, 5 st per color

    Great tutorial! Just wondering, what kind of yarn are you using? would love to make my friend's new granddaughter a blanket using those colors and it seems very convenient how you got the same amount of stitches per color sequence. Again, great job with this video! You have yourself a happy new subscriber!

      +Kelly Perkins Thanks so much! I’m so happy you’re here. Let me look back at the video to see the yarn. I think this was a Hobby Lobby yarn :)

    Watching through other color pooling videos, seems the extra chain one of the moss stitch pattern might be affecting getting the stitch count to gome out without a lot of fiddling around with tension

    I am having trouble with the planned pooling website chart. I've put in the correct colors and numbers and found an argyle pattern to use. Want to make a large afghan, so I put in 216 stitches. When I print out the pattern, it's so fuzzy because of the amount of stitches that I can't follow it. Any suggestions? Thank you!

    what happens if we need one extra stitch at end and is color of next sequence- I see on the graph that happens. Do we still try and do exact count next row for each color- or we won't have enough yarn maybe?

      @stardustgoldcrochet  Год назад

      I don't think I totally understand what you mean. Are you trying to do an increase?

    • @stardustgoldcrochet
      @stardustgoldcrochet  Год назад

      I understand. Don’t chain at the end of the row, just work the next stitch on the top of the next stitch after turning.

    Can you use any stitch and what size needle

  • @oldsoul6696

    So what if we want to make a sewater. Should we keep chaning until we get the width we want?

    • @stardustgoldcrochet
      @stardustgoldcrochet  2 года назад +1

      That’s a good question! You actually will need to play with the planned pooling calculator until you get a pattern that will match your stitch count for the starting row of your sweater. For instance: you want to create a front panel that is 18” wide. You’ll need to crochet a chain, then a row or two of single crochet.
      Then determine how many single crochet are in your first row.
      Then input that into your planned pooling calculator.

      Planned pooling is hard. It's all about tension and counting. It may take some practice to get your numbers right. It's very individualized too. You have to create a swatch like the video says - did you check out part 1?ruclips.net/video/RyzziN1Yb_o/видео.html
