- This is quite simply the nicest 1/10th scale trail kit I have ever built. It is a dream build. The instructions are so simple to follow and very intuitive, and the quality of the materials is unlike anything I have ever had the privilege of putting together. Not 1 screw has stripped out. Not a single one. I was shocked. Every single hole drilled on the chassis / frame is threaded. The frame rails are solid aluminum. The included Micro Servo is already waterproof! I am complimenting this build with the following:
1) MKS HBL 590 Servo: amzn.to/2XasMAX
2) Tekin RX4 Waterproof ESC: amzn.to/2U0IBZ3
3) Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Pro 12t Brushed Motor (holmeshobbies....)
4) Gens Ace 3s 4000mah Lipo Battery: amzn.to/2X9tFK0
5) Spektrum DX6R Radio & SR410 4CH Receiver: amzn.to/2DR1ruI

Installing the electronics is a wonderful process as this is really where the magic comes in. Now the model can COME TO LIFE! I get to see my model MOVE for the First time!! It is truly a rewarding experience.
In the next episode I will be putting together the "Killer Body": Toyota Land Cruiser LC70. I have already painted it.

I DON'T QUIT! Let's keep building this BEAUTIFUL KIT!
I love your videos could you please comment on my latest videos your the best
I love your videos they are amazing and cool
Hell yea brother cant wait to see the rest of the build come together
That's right DONT QUIT!!
Buenos dias amigo
That steering servo is going to look like an alloy radiator through the grill👍👍
Its sure is :)
rcr0ck Dude for real!!! He couldn’t have picked a more perfect servo for this rig!! 👍😎👍
This is easily my second fav scale RC crawler, Second only to the Cross RC PG4L, I’ve never seen such incredibly scale and engineered 1/10 trail truck! 😲
Boom racing really nailed this BIG TIME!!!
PS I just wanted to say how impressed I’ve been with Asia Tees, I was amazed at how quickly efficiently and how much care they put into sending my CA-30, 👍👍 Two thumbs up def!!!
really loving the scale realism of this chassis, kinda wish there was a leaf spring suspension option for even more scale style, because really what stock looking Toyota has long arm coil overs? still would buy one. those instructions are great & detailed like Tamiya. the wire retainers are genius idea & a VIN # what? that's awesome crazy , cant wait to see the body on & a trail vid
Awesome! Can't wait to see it with the body n out for its maiden run. That receiver box is so cool, im really digging this kit, quality! Have a great week Aaron
Thank you Stevo.. I hope you are pain free today :) I know that is impossible.. but we can hope! Thank you for the kind words ! You too, have a great week!
I’m a big fan of your show I’ve been watching you for some years now I’m from Australia down here we love you it’s anything big in manly I’m just asking do you guys have any modern land cruises like we do down here to this day we have not stop making me increases have you got them up there 🇦🇺
Whats up Ratchet!! As soon as I am better, I need to visit Australia!! My wife's family is from there :) I wish we had Land Cruisers up here.. we have None! I am always shocked if I see one.. but it is so rare! Big Aussie Aussie Aussie to the boys!
Thanks for your comment PS love the show been watching since 2011
Just catching up on the build, love the quality! Sometimes I just like building stuff to appreciate the engineering aspect of it...but this thing looks like it's also going to be awesome to take out on the trails!
I'm guessing the idea of the transfer case is to counter rotate the main drive to eliminate the twist. Some...if not all Jet Engines have a similar design, for instance, a triple spool engine will have one of the 3 turbines that counter rotates the rest, stops the engine trying to rip itself off the aircraft :) 🤓✈
Your videos are so inspiring, I've made a project out of a cheap rc car from WLToys, (the L969) and I'm planning for it to be a not so scale, trail truck-ish kinda thing. I bought new shocks for it, and some new gears for it and even made some videos on it. Thanks man, you're the boss of RC!👊😎👊🔥🔥👍
Hello Nathan! Your project sounds great! It doesn't matter the budget - any RC that makes you smile - is an AWESOME RC!! Keep building!!
@@TheRealRCSparks Thanks!👍
Nathan Zari what body’s fit that wltoys rc?
@@mannychinchilla Uh.. I just use the stock one, and for almost 1 year I've been looking for a body to fit it. The wheelbase is 250mm, and a TRAXXAS stampede body is 255mm, so (maybe) it might fit but I doubt the body posts will line up.
Great video Medic👍 Love how this is coming together. Can't wait for the body. I know you are going to have something special in mind🤔
As always.. you can count on me :)
Oh great. Best way to start off a snow day.
Yessss so true
Stay warm, Brothers :)
Snow day? I only got a few measly inches of snow last night but at least it's snow. It's light enough that I could drive my 4-tec. 2.0 with the Ford GT body and get some crazy drifting last night.
@@kingsummit5310 same here. 3 or 4 inches. Mostly didn't feel like working today
@@drev1 where i can take a day off. Wasn't because of the snow. Rude.
Excellent, very good work, this chassis is at the top !! Really very good explanations and great speed test !! Looking forward to seeing the work on the body 😊
Thank YOU, my friend.. I appreciate every comment you leave me :)
It's always a great pleasure for me to watch your videos Aaron, have a good day to you and your family 😊 @@TheRealRCSparks
Hey just wondering How you gonna make it more roende foam and do it do anything to the truck when it is not round?
Wow super early I’m always up for some rc sparks comment “mediclive” in the comments
Hello Backcountry! Haha.. you know me well.. yes, I do my best to interact with as many people as possible in the comment section. In my opinion it takes ALL members interacting (including producers) to call it a community! Thank you for coming to check out my video today :)
No ,THANK YOU!
Nice looking build so far. My local hobby shop owner just sold to me a Reef RC 555 steering servo. Have you ever come across these and if so, what are your thoughts about it? He assured me it was great, for $115, I SURELY hope so. Thanx for taking the time to read this and your reply, if there is one. Keep the build videos coming👍👍
I have never heard of them before.. but there are so many amazing servos out there.. and its hard to tell if its a rebrand. But regardless.. if it works well, then AWESOME!! haha :) Swing the bat, its the only way you can hit a home run!!
Thanx for the quick response. Yea, I'll DEFINITELY put it through the wringer!!! Have a great day, my brother👍👍
It's really great review my friend~!!👍👍👍
BTW... you should consider buying a cheap Helping Hands set for soldering. It helps a to have it whenever I am soldering. It simply has 2-4 alligator clips to grab onto anything you need to solder, and a large magnifying glass that is surprisingly useful. You should also consider buying a 3D printer :D
You turn on your super water finding scenes while you're driving on the trail. Somehow, you find water every time! I can't argue with that. I wish I had that! (Even though I own a 3 y.o Rustler VXL) ;) I Love this build series!
Good it's like a little power full mini land cruiser car without body 😍😍😍😍😍
That remote is amazing. It's like you can go on the Google play store and download games 😂
But that truck! Wow amazing details and quality!
Damn! I was sold until I found the $850.cad price tag. You get what you pay for, of course, but too rich for my blood unfortunately. But that Holmes Hobbies motor? I'm getting one asap! That's some serious wheel speed.
Really enjoying this build, Aaron.
I always loved rc cars as a kid and went through many of them. Stumbled across your videos a month or two ago lost in a youtube wormhole and they rekindled my inner child! Great builds, great footage, and very informative. Awesome stuff! Got me a Wraith to play with.
I picked up some really low resistance gold plated spade connectors from Best Buy in the car audio section and have been using them to connect the ESC to the motor. They fit really snug and seem to transfer power efficiently. No unusual motor jerking or heat issues and even with several 20 foot plus tumbles they have remained connected to the motor.
A photo so you can see what I am talking about. Handy if you are on a budget and maybe run an ESC in more than one truck or you just don't feel like soldering the wires to the motor.

Amazing! Love watching the build videos! Can’t wait to see her out on the trail👍
I'm still rookie in RC crawling, I've got a Carisma Scale Adventure Range Rover and Tamiya Land Rover Defender, I am looking at getting this Boom racing chassis and a TRC Land Rover Discovery shell to complete my 1980's UK Land Rover collection.
However excuse the rookie question but is there a specific radio type i should buy to facilitate changing the gears with the mini servo? Thanks in advance.
My RUclips notifications was not working so I missed the other episodes but it is working now so I'm happy I get to see your videos
1% of my subscribers are notified.
Click on and off the bell a few time to see if that works..
This is a wicked build cant believe how well it's coming together with minimal issues
Finished product will be amazing
Good Morning Mike.. thank you Sir. Yesterday I had to do this video over multiple hours.. but it came together very nicely. It was a a great build, and like you said.. came together very smoothly.
@@TheRealRCSparks yes sir it did cant wait to make it to the ranch and see your collection and have fun with rc
@@TheRealRCSparks also I'm guessing that comment about already painting the body was cause of my comment last week lol either way it was perfect lol
Really turning it to be a remarkable vehicle, and Def seems like you'll have the wheel speed when you need it, looking forward to seeing what color you chose.
All we gotta do is get our selfs some chunky wheels.
Omg I really dream to get this car
I normally like to watch your build videos while working on my own builds but I'm stuck waiting for parts. So today I'm watching while editing my own videos. Videoception!?! 👍😂
That must be very difficult to edit and watch at the same time..!
@@TheRealRCSparks hahahahaha🤣. Its similar to watching while building. Only problem is having to stop editing to completely focus on a certain parts of the videos. Great work as always man! 👍
Great video sir , that build is brilliant , hope your getting some ease from the issues we share . Take care . Stephen @SMS
Great Video and perfect Chassis build.......thumbs up my friend👍👍
I cannot wait to see this beauty on the crawler course.
4:18 I've been watching a lot of "Loading Wars" this past few days and when I saw you hit the truck frame with the servo box I went "PENALTY" ! 😲😂 I guess I'm addicted!!!
Hi , I always enjoy watching your videos. I am looking to attach KB/48689 bumper to BRX01 chassis. Do you or anyone knows how to do that? Any specific kit I need to buy? Thanks
Nice video
Thank you, its a wonderful piece of kit..
What are your thoughts on the RC4WD Gelande II? I'm really considering one, for the apartment and the rest of winter it would be amazing. I was just wondering your opinion, it is quite customizable. The crawlster tuning upgrade is neat but I'm not experienced enough in the rc world to know where is safe to buy from. From one Alberta to another. Love the videos Keep it up!!
I built one years ago.. here you go.. see for yourself! :) ruclips.net/video/9IYBB_u5sz8/видео.html enjoy!
That's how my tires look on my SCX10 ll Deadbolt. I was told they'd work out over time🤞I like that idea of the hinged body, although I there's a disconnect product I saw on Scale Builders Guild which helps if you don't have the hinge option.
Awesome looking truck👍looking forward to seeing the body and the first test 👍👍👍
Me too.. but being the coldest month of the year (-20f).. everything is covered in snow.. and you can hardly breathe outside! The test wont be for a few weeks.. at least! March prolly..
medic you were asking about the extra output shaft on the transfer case. i left a link (1942 Dodge Power Wagon Restomod - Jay Leno's Garage - RUclips) that has the same transfer case with duel axles check it out let me know what you think
I think the axle setup just makes the front shaft rotate in opposite way to the rear shaft. That means that the torque from the motor tries to twist the suspension instead of rotating it to one side.
Your the best rc channel ive ever seen
I am very fortunate to be a contributing member to the great RUclips Force of RC Producers! thank you for the kind words
@@TheRealRCSparks you're welcome, because of you i have learnd alot about rc rock crawlers and the ability to work on them
You're*
I'm new to the rc hobby, and I have a traxxas trx4 bronco rtr. I wont to build a kit and my next will be the brx01 but I wont to use a Toyota lc70. love watching your RUclips videos. Thank you for all you provide us.
Beautiful! The only problem I had was I installed a trail master 540 from Holmes hobby and I think the shaft is too long because the wheels won’t spin when I try it by hand
Thanks, looking very nice 👍. I can't wait to get our Holmes hobbies brushless crawler motors. But that brushed set up is very nice, more speed than I thought.
Awesome trail truck. Really like the idea of the XT plug between motor and esc for easy removal. Can't wait to see the LC70 body fitted.
Hi Ross, yeah my friend.. a quick connect will keep things simple. Also the velcro on the esc and quick connects makes an easy swap if needed. Thanks for checking out my build video today!
i think the idea is that if the front drive shaft is spinning in an opposite direction as the rear they will counter each others' torque twist out and thus reducing the effect
You're right Aaron, those Driveshafts are SEXY!! The reverse rotation Transfer Case is also in the BOM.... but does NOTHING to help Torque Twist. The BOM has too high of a Axle Ratio though.
I'm thinking that Boom Racing thought of that, and has a *lower* Axle Ratio. They have seemed to think of everything! That is one of the most Scale looking Chassis's I've ever seen! 👍👍 I might still support GCM, when I'm finally able to....
Carmine 🚂 🚙 SSGT USAF Ret.
Oh, and GREAT Motor choice!!! Always been a fan of Holmes Hobbies. 🇺🇸👍👍😎🇺🇸
Excellent stuff, outstanding Service!!! 👏👏👏
I'm wondering if there's a balanced counterweight for the 'reverse rotation shaft'... I'm not sure how much it would help without rotating mass to counter the motor and transmission rotating mass.
Or is it possibly just for applications where you need the driveshaft to rotate the opposite direction?
Looks so nice. Well engineered and polished design. Just beautiful top job matey can't wait for the body to be fitted and that all important first run vid😉👍
Just got a new hobbywing esc/ motor combo, did all the wiring and sottering correctly but the motor won’t work, everything but the motor works. Any suggestions?
Looking at the tire speed at the end of the video it almost looks like you could get rid of the to speed and run your battery parallel to your frame rails. I figured it was sitting perpendicular to avoid the Mini servo for the transmission. Looks like another great build I was impressed with the machining and the packaging needless to say he instruction manual looked amazing
OMG what a beautiful build. Can't wait to see the body. That's going to be one rocking video. You may need to build JEM one as well.
That steering servo looks great. Im building a Axial Bomber right now and still deciding on my esc/motor and servos. Any recomendations ?
Man that has some of the coolest features I've ever seen in a kit !
Medic; I would like a way that I could contact you Other than publicly I have many Ideas that I would like to hash out with you I think you might like them. let me know if I can friend you on FB.
It's Alive !!!! Sounds as if you will have more than enough power, Great video as always thanks for sharing it.
Second time round watching this build now. I am seriously considering that I need this kit in my life. A scale Mountain Rescue build is just screaming out at me.
I love your videos wish I could afford to build a truck . Your my inspiration and love your hobbie. And if there's a way you find it..
Boomracing has done a great job with this truck. Cant wait to see the body n vids out on the trail. Great motor choice. Ive got the 27t in my scx10 ii n it runs great
Nice kit. should the wheels have six bolts for scale? Such nice components on that truck. RC4wd will have to step it up a notch!
Nice looking rc build, thanks for sharing!...Bill
Holmes hobby is the only way to go! And i have to say thank you again for sharing your life story with us, we're all here for you, stay strong and think about the family.
hello me and my 9 year old son have seen all of your videos and now we are wanting to do something we bout could enjoy so my question is what you you recommend for our first time rc rock crawler if you could please recommend something i been looking but i bont want to buy something that is not very good
I like your rc car building videos there cool I'm looking forward to seeing more rc car building videos keep it up.
Going to need a lite kit and winch on the front.👍
cant put winch on the stock one brother.. I will need an after market bumper.. but the lead from the receiver box.. ready for it now!
Nice truck, pretty good and easy build, I did not see you using any thread lock on the metal to metal fixing's
I have placed thread lock in the placed I feel it was necessary. I demonstrated that in the last build video
I have a rock crawler and it has ALOT of tork twist. The front wheel comes 2 inches off the ground
I really recommend Holmes hobbies products, have been nothing but satisfied 👌
I look forward to discovering more of their products! I hope we can get a few more on the show..
I do the same Thing with the motorwires. it helps a lot, it is also great if you do some maintanance on the Vehicle.
I love this truck BUTT. I don’t like how the rear shocks are on that hard angle and the USA price
Nice. Love this truck, might be my first build. Good job. God bless.
Great video Medic~! I look forward to see the custom body you painted. lol
It's a great review. It's been a lot of help to me . Thank you. ^^
That's a nice truck man. One day I hope to get one. If my illness will let me. Thanks man
hey whats the deal with the seperate deans and the xt60 on your ESC? for a bypass on an external BEC or?
John's customer service and products are top notch. Builds looking good.
You make the best rc videos
Thank you Shiloh.. that is a very kind thing to say. I am fortunate to have such a thoughtful audience :)
Soo cool... This kit is on my must-have-list! Thanks for the vid medic!
Really like you build videos. I love these trail trucks. I wish someone would come up with more scale looking links for steering and suspension.
Thank you :)
Great video brother, Looking 4wrd to seeing this 1 out on tha trail. 😁😁😁
U should get a deadman switch from amain to feature on the show with all the hard bodies u got just a suggestion love this kit tho
that cliffhanger got me (the truck is really nice and i hope you have some fun with it)
How do you feel this compairs to a tf2 or a gelande 2 ?
Really good video. They've thought of everything and it looks like a good easy kit?
hey medic i enjoy washing on your videos looking foward to see the body i now you have some will ideas see soon
I wish alot of people can watch your channel now and see this project into coming.
Me too my friend, me too! All I can do is put the content out there.. and make sure its good! Its up to the internet after that.. :) Thank you for the kind words.. this is a great project!
gonna be a nice ride. Seen another Gmade t-case in a different rig but can't remember the name of the chassis

absolutely LOVING this build, bro!! how does the weight distribution feel? I was wondering how it'd feel while maybe crawling downhill, given that the servo/motor/trans are all closer to the front. keep up the amazing work medic! YOU DA MAN!!
Hello
Hello :)
Just to let you know the extra shaft to the rear has got absolutely nothing to do with torque rotation !! I don’t know who fed you that guff ? That transfer box is a cheap generic Chinese item, hence me being hesitant about buying this kit as my last boom racing chassis was basically crap ! So much slop in the transmission I actually ended up replacing most of it ! You will find this exact same transfer box in the new King Kong Hobby 6WD army truck. The second rear output drives one of the rear axels.
Sorry my friend.. Respectfully.. you seem very stern in your comment. Although I can not comment on the gear box being in another machine - I can say that a reverse-rotating shaft also reduces wheelies, because the motor crank's torque reaction pushes the front wheel down during acceleration, rather than lifting it This entire design was brand new.. not copied. But.. I will agree to disagree with you. From the BRX01 book: " Transfer Case: Anti-Torque Twist w/ Selective Rotational Drive"
Point taken, however having built a boom chassis before I found the quality seriously lacking ! The new chassis must be much better as the old long wheelbase was terrible, it has won me a few concourse prizes, however more for its bodywork than anything else. Once bitten twice shy , I may just take the plunge and build one anyway.
Your videos are great and I have been following them for a while. I build and race real road race cars but race RC offroad professionally for many years and dabbled with crawlers some as well. In your opinion what is the best bang for the buck current crawler Kit? I want to build it, no RTR
Hi Jason, there are so many on the market today.. its been game changing in the last few years. I dont really slam any brands.. as its truly all personal choice and experience. I can say that anything I show on my channel, I believe is a "good product".. so I encourage you to visit my videos page. Pick one out.. and if you find one you like.. ket me know. The video descriptions usually have links or information about what is in the film. hope that helps you :)
I would but this but its too dinky imo. I hope they come out with something more rowdy.
Hi , Just wondering would you need to do any hop ups for what is included in the kit . Can it be made tougher for crawling in your opinion . Thinking seriously of buying this with the LC 70 body.
Nope.. the kit was amazing
Dude glad to see it finished keep up the good work man
Goodness sounds like a jet engine lol
Nice video, can't wait to see it run with the body on. What a epic build
Omg😭😭
Being a machinist. The proper terminology is tapped hole not pre threaded LOL but maybe that's what you guys say up north. Great video man
Tapped, yes :) But for the laymen.. pre-threaded.. Lol
I love land cruiser and toyata campay
