First and foremost, this is all just for fun. I love sharing my hobby with you guys. I LOVE THESE TWO TRUCKS. They are excellent! The Red one is my trusted RC4WD Trail Finder 2 Toyota Hilux (amzn.to/2EFJKjj) has been with me (in a variety of different versions), throughout the years.. I have created dozens of films about the TF2 both in Kit form (build videos) as well as trail videos.
I am as curious as my audience to know how it will do against my new Boom Racing BRX01Toyota Land Cruiser LC70 (I just built this on my YT channel). www.boomracing... As a side note - the tires on my Blue truck are Boom Racing Hustlers 1.55 tires (bit.ly/2U3cmIx)

Like the new doors. Only thing missing is some netting for the windows.
At least with oversized netting I will still be able to release it, and access the inside. I just have to find some small netting and some velcro. Ill cut some strips maybe, and make it..

Wow. Been out of the rc game for a while and just now getting back in. This was the channel I would watch every single day after school. Slowly getting back in to rc after about 6 or 7 years and so so happy to see one of the OGs still going!!!
TF2 the bumper was keeping the rear wheels off the ground... i like the BRX01doors.. i know you're not the first one to cut down those doors on th BRX01... now traxxas Bronco vs vaterra Blazer... yes Chevy VS Ford lol i like both bodies...

that's really insane. Now there is one little thing that are different on the trucks to cause just a little disadvantage. The blue truck did have "MiNi MEDiC" in the cab, where as the red truck did not. Would this have changed anything, who knows? Love your videos MEDiC and being I found this channel only 2.5 months ago, you do some crazy, but really cool things. I have started watching your videos starting from the past and going forward, plus watching the latest ones. I am currently on "Oct 23, 2013 - TTC Basic Training - Learning to use a Scale Trail 4x4 Truck (PT1)". One thing that I really do love about your channel is you are doing it as a family. When I get a little money, my 3 older (15, 13, and 8 yrs old) children and I are getting some RCs and going to have fun. Hopefully soon I will be able to do Idaho RC Adventuring. When my youngest (1.75 yrs old) gets older will be able to do things with her and RCing.
P.S. you're only just shy of 5 yrs older than me. You rock.

Very impressive! On the last adjustment to 58°, the brx looked like the fronts werent even touchin at some points lol. Boom hast stepped up the game for rc4wd

Cool test my friend it's just amazing how far these tiny trucks are coming in recent years! The new cut doors are really cool. Seriously can't wait for warmer weather to see how the LC70 performs outside.

With the rear bumper dragging you could also make a slight ramp at the bottom to aid it going up the incline ? Just a suggestion. great job as always. Now a must try with my tiny truck👍🏽👍🏽

Pretty impressive for both trucks, you should try an episode to see which of your rigs is the steepest climber in its class. That was some pretty pure 1:10 scale.

Try to do a video with 2 similar truck , but one with the battery on the back and one in the front , to see the climbing difference with weight distribution ! Nice vid !
I definitely agree with other comments, this could be a cool "wars" type video with your buds and who can climb the most extreme angles, and maybe as well have PENELTYS for slipping off and what not, but love everything you do brother have a great one

That is a crazy and that would be a good idea for loading wars having things in the back of the truck and climbing with out losing anything out of the back.

58 degrees pretty impressive, I have a tf2 and it out climbs a lot of other trucks in its class, but I'm glad that the brx01 did so good
That's impressive for sure, the marlin crawler send the bed is shorter would like to see how that would work out sure wish you was my neighbor I would bring it over and we get tested out. Appreciate you sharing this video that is awesome I love it

With some weight on the front axle or in the front wheels, and a small helper ramp at the bottom, I bet they could both do atleast 5°-10° more. Great video regardless!

Yeah man, Toyotas sure have made a huge impact on the RC world. Good for the 1:1 brand for licensing their models to manufacturers. I hope more will one day see the opportunity!

Mini-me actually helped in adding valuable weight and prevented the brx from tipping over, and the body of the tf2 is mounted higher than brx. So unfair.
Those boom racing hustler tires are the best climbers on the market!

There has been a few friends that have doing these climbing challenges using their trucks n use their phones with a app to get how steep their trucks can climb. This cube is pretty cool n would be perfect too. The longer into the video, im starting to like the doors more then what I did at the start, so at the end I should luv them too LOL
I think I'm at 62 degrees currently, aiming for 70 with one of the WPL's 👍

@@TheRealRCSparks ya they do too, they do it in one shot, use the phone that shows the angle of the board n then attempt the climb using the same grit sand paper on the board.Butt ya guys who use their phones to record would have to go off their word or grab the cube like u have. It seems like most trucks max out around that 50-53 mark, which is impressive, such a crazy incline

@@TheRealRCSparks it's all good. Just trying to make it a more fair comparison. We all know those Boom racing tires are a lot better than the stock rc4wd tires.
In the end I don't think the tires were really the deciding factor. tf2 flipped over, brx didnt. I agree though, those hustlers are awesome. i run them as well.
i have to say the stock rc4wd tyres would probably be really good for this. Being grip tape Aaron was driving on, the tighter tread pattern would work great.
You should try adding wight to the front I bet it will do more
Yeah, but adding weight does so much more to the truck that is a negative.

Man I'm not one to be a negative Nancy but the comparison really isn't fair between the two of these trucks because completely different year body styles and one is super scale that may be why the bed size differ. But man love your content and those doors are something you would find here in the states and look great. As always producing good quality content keep the builds coming.

i had that type of door on my suzuki samurai back in the day, great when offroading for that open feeling but still a little protection for your legs if like a tree decides to come at you

The best way to increase climb angle: Get a winch.
Seriously. I paid $150 for my entire trail truck and because of my aftermarket winch(which wasn't even too expensive) it can pick itself off the ground entirely, making *normal* climbs easy when I do end up using the winch
Oh, and my rig's an RGT Rock Cruiser, pretty much the same thing as the barrage but with a different body and electronics. And after reading up on it, this isn't technically a clone. FTX makes these chassis that the Barrage has but doesn't actually use it in their own company. It's kind of just an open source 1/12 scale frame that any company could use.

You could add a second plank so the initial approach isn’t too steep and you wouldn’t have to assist the trucks at all👍🏻
Haha that was realy fun . Really i like these climp tests, please sir add these climb tests to your future videos. For some rason my experience only watching videos from scale rc trucks and not own a scale truck, i was sure that LC70 could make it much easier than trail finder 2 because is lower than trail finder 2 and has springs and not leaves. But lets be honest we like both of them and we wan't to have both of them, independent what truck can make harder climbing. Really i enjoy to see videos like these just for fun and comparison. Because trail finder 2 could not make it like LC70 that's not a reason to not buy a trail finder 2, is just that all the trucks are not the same like the reality.

I have tried the Hustler M / TX and they are tires with a very good grip. We hope more videos of yours like this and greetings from Mexico

The TF2 had a little better approach angles but the BRX01 is super stable!
