Without The Cars New Wave 80's style may never have kicked off. This band was well ahead of the curve musically. Incredible lead guitarist, very musical in solo style
The Cars were simply amazing. Every song they wrote was pure creativity. New sound that had never been and has never been matched. My band had the wonderful privilege of working with Greg in the studio. He produced a 4-song demo for us and spent countless hours in the studio to make sure we had a fantastic product to distribute. God bless Ben and Rick
They had PLENTY of recognition back in the 80’s. They were all over the radio. I assume you either weren’t alive then or were too young to remember. Having said that, I believe The Cars will go down in history as one of the best bands of all time.

(Rock, country, blues, acoustic, R&B..you name it) And I can tell you Elliot Easton is one of the most under rated guitarists out there. They are the Cars and now they are forever etched in history. They made the eighties rock and inspired us teens of Reagan years to dance. Farewell and thanks for the memories.
It's really rare and pretty special that a group can get up on stage 34 years after the release of the song, and perform it like they wrote it yesterday. They still sound exactly the same!
Elliot Easton solos were iconic, and as he has said never improvised, he crafted each one and always played them exactly the same, which is what people love about the cars
