I've been using this cube for the last few days and i love it. The only con I can see, is that there are only 5 different settings. It isn't possible to adjust the center distance. But the setting that comes with the cube seems to be really good, so it should not really be a problem. It is also really corner twist resistant, depending on the settings it is basically impossible, which in the past I've only seen on Gan cubes
Does someone got it? I hope v5 is same then wrm v9 bc uv picube sp. ed. but at the correct price... anyway super rs3m basic spring version is so good , performance near to flagship price 6 times cheaper, is it this v5 an improvement or not?
The v5 also has a durability issue. They tried to lighten the cube with simpler piece design and thinner plastic, but when I accidentally dropped mine (around 1 foot in height) on carpet, the plastic snapped and there’s now a hole in my corner piece. Edit: I swapped the external plastic and caps to the ones of the Super RS3M 2022. The slight difference in piece design made it feel like a blockier and more solid Gan 12(which I enjoy).
I have a 54mm spring and a 55mm maglev. To me, the 54mm spring is clearly firmer (and is perfect for me), while the 55m maglev is a little too flexible for my liking, but is more glidy.
Just got the 56mm Maglev. Bigger hands so bigger cube. Prior to this I was all RS3M 2020/1, I'm definitely a budget cube guy, I like having a bunch scattered around so one's always close to hand, and that gets expensive with flagships. The GHPM is *very* light in the hand, and *very* light-turning. It came set on 1, I've upped it to 3 and that's a good balance of light but stable. It's a little sharper-feeling, reminds me of my old Cyclone Boyz, where even the stickerless RS3Ms are a little softer in the edges and corners. Compared to the RS3M it's a Corvette to a 1500 truck; the RS3M is soft, stable and comfortable, but requires a heavier hand to get it going. The GHPM is quick, agile and precise, but it takes a light touch, push it around too hard and it'll fight you. Which is better? I'm gonna say Guhong, because I'm in love with this feel. Not knocking the RS3M, it's a great solve in a sub-$10 sub-10 cube, but I don't think any of my RS3Ms was ever as light and quick as this even stright out of the box.

I totally agree. When I got my 56 mm GuHong Pro MagLev I couldn’t believe how great it was. Corvette is right. It demolishes the RS3M’s which I think are drastically overrated cubes.
are the 5 settings actually compression though? the website listing says Tension, and I've heard it's actually center distance, so effectively screw depth without actually being a screw
I've got the 54 maglev and it's the nicest cube! It doesn't have the adjustability as other cubes, but if it's perfect out of the box (it is!) then what point is there in adjustability. Honestly, I'm not even going to touch the settings that it does have.
@@mohthonswam8673 my spring cube makes a ton of noise on one side. Had to disassemble and lube the core best I could. Still makes some noise on the one side. I’m just gonna keep with maglev from now on

A Head to head? Sure would love to see it, actually i would love to see the super rs3m 2022 next to the v5 tbh but v5 vs guhong pro would still be amazing. I plan to pick one up for OH since i have a V3 that I have and the smaller size is nicer but its too small for normal solves. Already pulled the trigger on the v5 but thats only because of the factory uv coating, super v1 is my current main so couldnt say no to one that was uv coated
I hope that they we will soon make a premium version of this cube. This one feels like having a new Porshe engine in an old mini cooper! Plastic quality needs fixing. Other than that, it beats many flagships out there. It gets more attention than my V9 these days TBH.
Thank for the excellent review! But why complaining about the number of different versions of the cube? To make available different cube sizes is great news! Smaller cubes may be a better choice for children. I had trouble finding good smaller cubes and ended up spending (wasting) money buying the GAN mini ui free play for my 6 year old son. He really loves the cube because of its smaller size, but has never showed any interest in using the online features and the app. I was very happy to learn that the DaYan GuHong Pro was released as a 54mm version!
I really think if you’re gonna get this cube in whatever size you prefer the mag-lev is the way to go. I have the 54 mm spring version and I gotta say I don’t really like it. It’s just wayyy to flimsy, but mag-lev seems to be more soft and stable

The community in my country prefer this over the RS3M V5. Many of them even say thst the only good thing about the new RS is the Cube Robot.

When I first got it, it was actually a very good cube for 20 dollars. It was pretty fast and a little quiet.

"i am surrounded by cubes", should do a big cube with 3x3s so that quote is right.
It's not compression, it's distance. You can easily test this by comparing how much you can pull the cube apart with setting 5 and setting 1.
