When Phil uses all his street cred I know I have to get this cube. Happy to see the DaYan roller coaster reaching a new high. 54 mm is perfect for me and I prefer springs.
The fact that you cannot tell the difference between the spring and the maglev version is good to me, since the only true benefit of maglev is the total absence of spring noise without the need of taking the cube apart lubing the core and risking of compromising the default tensions, nevertheless for those who don't care about that they can go and buy the spring version with no regrets
well i think the true benefit is actually the no-resistance created by no friction feeling, and that your point us the 2nd benefit. but different people has different thoughts so 👌
@@vigotogar well yes you're correct, I just don't really like when maglev cubes are almost uncontrollable. Let's hope it's a good new cube🤞
I LOVE the versioning system. Moyu coming out with Maglev versions of their cubes without magnetic cores is something I will never understand, and I don’t see why anyone would buy them. Every new release should have an option of springs with magnetic core, and maglev with magnetic core. And being able to choose which size you want is amazing.
I've been focused so much on stand up comedy and yoyos that I haven't been cubing as much recently, but I did finally get my first sub-10 solve recently and watching this video makes me excited to grab a GuHong Pro as soon as I can. I'm stoked that Dayan is finally making a real comeback. Here's to hoping they continue this trend. They have such a legendary status as a cubing brand and it was sad to see the downfall. Dayan comeback FTW!
October 2024: I was looking for a silent cube to use in public places, and according to some sources this is one of the quietest. I bought the 54 mm maglev version and it is indeed very quiet. But it is also very good and very fun to solve!
it's funny seeing in the thumbnail how tiny the differences in size are, but the size makes a big impact on your cubing experience and personal preferences.
Always look forward to the paper and sharpie coming out in these reviews! Hahaha I might have to get one, even tho YS3M UV has been my main since it dropped
Guhong v1 was my first speedcube. I use a Tornado V3 Flagship at the moment, but given the price of this I might try one out, especially because of the 54mm model.
I love the videos where Phil draws on paper :) Fantastic content, thank you! You didn't tell about the adjustment though. Is it distance only? Spring/maglev compression only? Both?
Omg, Olga! I follow you! It's great to see you here! I also love when Phil draws, it feels like a good analysis moment. And I also noticed that he didn't say much about the adjustment system.
