    Excellent presentation, Doctor.
I had laproscopic surgery for an inguinal hernia 3 years ago. Three months ago, I noticed the repair was failing. I had the same type procedure done again 4 weeks ago. I'm male, 73 years old and in very good health.
I vacationed in Florida for the full month of October. I swam 4-5 days a week for about 35 minutes. My swimming style is full reach, full body extension. During that month is when I first noticed the hernia recurring.
My question is: could that amount and style of swimming contribute to the failure?
I'm going back to Florida for April and hope I can continue swimming but not if it will cause complications.

Are you able to swim now? That’s my favorite form of exercise and would be frustrated too if I couldn’t keep it up.

@alanzemsky7695 I can and I do. Since my post, I had the feeling that my abdominal wall was weakening again (after the 2nd surgery). But unlike the first failure, I didn't have any bulging and my abdomen felt strong to the touch. However, that feeling of weakening has passed and I think I'm in the clear.

I had keyhole surgery nine years ago. All been good so far.
Taken up gym again recently. Very mindful of recurrence so trying to be careful.
Although I'm now getting a slight burning/tingling sensation in same place but no protrusion (bulge)
    Should I be worried?

The UK should decriminalise voluntary assisted suicide…it’s not right nor in keeping with one’s autonomy and thus dignity that they should be made to carry on when they end up in such a terrible state…ie the situation whereby a person is left with chronic and debilitating pain as a result of hernia and it’s numerous complications. There should be an option for that at least, for the extreme and unlucky cases. Terrible pain, and terrible discomfort.
