    One good advice is to start taking stool softener days ahead of surgery. I was constipated for the first 2 days until the stool softener kicked in, after taking after surgery. The pain meds cause constipation.

      I wish I had started before the day of my surgery for sure. I'm going to try and keep my portions smaller and eat the most nutritious foods I can for the next few days because I know these pain meds are going to constipate me.

    I’ve recently developed a hernia on my right groin, which isn’t big at all (grape size) called a sports hernia which I can push it back in but doctor told me I need surgery to fix it.
    I’m a gym guy been doing it for many years without issues, I’m 32 now and never thought i could get such thing.
    Now I’m waiting for surgery date, I cannot wait for full recovery so I can go back to my normal day to day activities and training.
    Also there is some heridarity from my family side with hernia.
    I’m not scared at all, I had an appendix surgery when I was a kid so this one can’t be as bad.

    Add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil to a smoothie and I promise, you will have a soft bowl movement within 1-3 hours. Be sure you have a toilet available because you can’t fight olive oil. Also, do not take the olive oil straight. It must be mixed with something or it will give freakishly painful, burning acid reflux. If it is mixed into a smoothie, there will be no acid reflux.
    My smoothie:
    •1/2 banana (ripe)
    •1-1.5 cups water
    •1/2 Tbsp acai freeze-dried powder
    •1/3 cup bran flakes

    Hi Doctor
    Thank you for informative video first of all.
    I had an open hernia surgery on my right groin 10 days ago. They used a mesh in my groin. My tummy is hard and stiff due to incision. I feel a pain in my tummy. It seems as if there is a 10cm tube in my tummy underneath incision. Is that normal? Is that stiff, bulge place will soften?
    Thanks

    • @DrParthasarathy
      @DrParthasarathy  3 года назад +2

      There can be a feeling of hardness under the hernia scar for a few weeks after surgery. This is due to the body’s reaction to the surgery . The area usually gets softer and normal with time . It is always better to consult your surgeon and take his advise if all is well in the surgical site .

      In my case 2 months have passed, yet a horizontal stretch along the line of hernia cut is still very hard & it pains on wearing underwear & Scrotal Support belt. A portion in a tube like shape is also raised one.
      Dr Sahib, when shall things return to normal.
      I was given to understand that by 2 months things would be OK but now it appears that it is going to be a long haul.
      Kindly advise.

      No, not yet.
      Unfortunately, the fee of Dr here in Chandigarh Fortis is quite high & I had frequently been visiting Dr but everytime Dr would tell me that it would be there for 3-6 months & that I was visiting him out of sheer anxiety.
      Who will tell Dr that no one wants to be anxious & it is something abnormally compelling that causes me to call on him.
      However, I am keeping a positive stance & hoping for a full recovery in the months to come.
      I am sorry to write here that Drs are no more Doctors but have gone toooooooo commercial.

  • @alexlupsor5484
    @alexlupsor5484 Месяц назад

    I had a large discharge of a grey paste matter in three tube paste like which grew into a worm projection from inside. It had a blackhead which I thought was a hair problem. When I decided to pick and what came out scared me. I drained this paste as best I could, which left a large hole in the skin. The hole was about 1/3 " in diameter. I put as much polysporine into the cavity and placed a bandaid, i went to emergency and had it looked at. I was told i had a hernia and the doctor asked me if they needed to repair it or not on the same day. I asked if all reports be sent to my family doctor and would repair under his diagnosis and direction. Since 2022, i lost faith in the hospital. I was wrong with decision.
    It took me three weeks to see him, and when angery about the wait, i to.d him that i had a hernia, he said he read tne report on the CT scan which denied i had a hernia. After three doctors looked at the report, the initial said that l had a herna while asecond and now my own physician denied this, based on the initial scan. What I did was left his care and am transition to a new care giver.
    The question I have is what was the grey paste that drained from my body? I never got an affirmative answer. Maybe you can tell me? I await your answer.

    I noticed a hernia bulge in my groin about 4 years ago and it just gotten bigger and bigger. It got really uncomfortable these last couple of weeks and I am grateful for my surgeon to eventually saying that he thinks it needs to be repaired because up until now he said he does not feel it is critical for hernia to be repaired. After surgery I immediately felt better and today is second day after that and I am still feeling better, it's almost like I used to feel. I felt slowly worse and worse the longer I had the hernia and at the end I was totally feeling horrible. I am very grateful to my surgeon and surgeons overall for being able to help us heal from this. I thank God for this. Thank you.

      Generally It doesn't affect the incision but it depends on your own convince,
      Yeah you can indulge in sexual activity within 2 months

      It's better to abstain yourself from sexual activity for atleast two months after that one can involve in this act, depending on his own convince,,

    From the United States here in California this week I had the umbilical hernia operation. I really had no pain and no aching. Just a little tenderness at the robotic operation site at the belly button in tenderness. These are all good recommendations from the doctor and the bottom line is follow their instructions and you will heal correctly. Avoid the heavy lifting. Great recommendations. Well done.
