- A jury heard closing arguments in Johnny Depp’s high-profile libel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. Each side had two hours Friday to summarize their case in a trial that has stretched on for six weeks.
Depp is suing Heard in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Court over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name.
Heard filed a $100 million counterclaim against Depp after his lawyer called her allegations a hoax.

I just ‘love’ how when Johnnys lawyers are up there giving the closing statements, Amber looks everywhere else. She acts totally uninterested, passing note and after notes to her legal team, smirking and snickering. When it’s her lawyers turn to present closing statements she puts the sad face on, is sighing, pays attention to every word her lawyer says. She is just so blatantly disrespectful. Even when Ambers attorney is saying horrible lies about Johnny, he still has the respect to give his attention to the attorney. Johnny said some horrible things to Amber but at least he owned up to it. He’s not a perfect man and never claimed to be. The evidence has overwhelmingly proved Amber is the aggressor. She instigated every fight and then recorded Johnny after he gets snippy with her. I mean who wouldn’t with someone like Amber. She is so gross.
I can’t agree more. That’s what pathological liars do. She has many previous bad relationships with friends n family and men with being aggressive and narcissistic behaviors !! She makes me sick !!!!! Always poor me !! Not one year ran down her face when she looked at the jury as she always does to explain and rant to explain what Johnny’s done to her over the years.
Not one single person can come forward not one to say Johnny is violent or aggressive to a human being to himself yes his daughter said he’s the sweetest man in the world. Back in 2001 his business partner, Anthony Fox sued him for stealing millions from him in a joint venture, what happened to the poor guy? He mysteriously disappeared the day before he was to give his testimony before a jury. A coincidence? After hearing JD's texts about murdering AH, I honestly think he did away with this other dude

If she had been harmed by ANY many in all the manners she claims I would assert with certainty she would NOT sit with her back to a male during this trial. @@Viktor_Rafael that's true everyone is different, me personally I always have a guard up, even though it's been years and I've done counseling and I've had overcome a lot it's just natural for me to always have a guard up. What confuses me though is she is trying to portray herself not only through herself, but through professionals, that she has traumatizing PTSD that she's so mentally messed up from her relationship with this man, even backing up so fearfully coming off the stand when he walked towards her but she's constantly looking at him, constantly!? I just don't get that, if you're so scared how are you deliberately going out of your way to look at him? The WHOLE time!

I truly hope this trial will be the start of a huge change in our justice system that creates a more accepting space for men to be believed as victims of DV. Johnny was clearly the victim here and he deserves to be believed and receive justice and Amber deserves to face criminal charges for committing perjury among many other crimes she's committed. No one; absolutely NO ONE should be laying their hands on their partner in a relationship. Women should not be excused for their violent outbursts. We don't excuse men for it, the same should apply equally towards women. I hope the jury gets this right!
I think this case has brought DV against men out into the light. Even if Johnny doesn't win, (I'll die) he is winning in public opinion and he has helped change the way we view men who are victims of abusive women who lie. Go Johnny! MEN-TOO
the most damning evidence to me is the multiple police officers who ALL state that there were A. no bruises, marks or swelling present anywhere on Amber's body, and B. the units were not in shambles and did not appear to be a location where a fight or struggle occured. Another point the jury cannot ignore is how Amber claimed that EVERY witness was not telling the truth. Not just 1 or 2, but ALL OF THEM! That alone has to very clearly show that Amber is being dishonest. Last but not least, Amber, on tape, admits to hitting Johnny. There are also recordings of her verbally abusing him, but there are absolutely no recordings, video or audio, and no evidence whatsoever that Johnny abused, or even laid a finger on Amber.
The evidence is very clear in this case and it cannot be ignored. This Jury can't just take Amber's word for it.
So , not part of this case but an example , if one partner grabs the other by the hair swings them around the room - punches into the back of their head ,holds a pillow over their face until they almost black out. It didnt happen because their is no swelling or bruising.
The witnesses ! JD witness/experts, I think we know money talks and he has far more clout in the industry than AH. What about the emails/texts where Johnny is trying to control what A can and cant do on a scene ? That is coercive control ie abuse

I'm so happy for the summary of both sides. It basically gives you the case in a nutshell after weeks of this. I think the jury might go with John since there is no actual abuse evidence that is 100% reliable, or admission of same. There is however admission she struck him-for whatever reason. It's a tough call.

Johnny claimed he didn't write the text saying he was entitled to a woman if he wanted her. Which he didn't.
Because it was an incoming text, ie something someone said to him.
Its also really telling that all they have is legalese technicalities, narrowing or opening windows on definitions as is convenient, and stating what Amber alleges as fact, meanwhile Johnny's team are working within a very consistent framework and evidence.
"Nah, you don't have to find the allegations of domestic abuse false, you have to find what Amber went through after making the allegations false, even though the parts being brought up as defamatory aren't about her experiences after making the allegations, and even though her allegations were about physical and sexual abuse, any form of IPV on a single occasion, even though our own experts defined IPV as patterned behaviour, proves her right.
We're also not going to show you this supporting evidence again because its just too graphic, even though you'd think that'd lend weight to our argument. No, its not because the actual piece of evidence doesn't line up with what I'm saying."

If Amber Heard was so nervous being around Johnny, why was she chasing him all over the house when he was trying to get away from her instead of leaving him alone? He couldn't even go to one of his other residences without her getting in his face. That's not the action of someone scared of somebody.
The simple fact that she's constantly looking over at him is a huge red flag! You wanted to act scared and backed up when he was so-called walking towards you from coming off the stand but yet you're looking at him and staring at him throughout the whole case! What person that's actually been abused has that kind of confidence to look their abuser in the face multiple times! Even if you've done years of counseling to overcome that abuse, does not mean you have that confidence to face your abuser like that. For someone who claims that she has so much PTSD she's very, very confident, arrogant and forth coming about everything. Unless her lawyers are talking them she's in cue to act differently.

I know, I have never been a fan of either. Only seen one Pirates movie the first one and only seen AH in Magic Mike 2. What I did do was listen to the testimonies find the external information myself for example the full uncut audio recordings, viewed all the evidence they produced and weighed up what I felt was more genuine, factual and credible and JD won out.
@@aimeerose9524 I remember Benny and June, a sweet film and Don Juan with the late, great Marlon Brando. I saw the first Pirates movie as I was working at a theater while in college. I think I saw Alice in Wonderland but that's all I recall. Depp's a good character actor but I'd be supporting him if he was a janitor if I saw the evidence involved because it's clear he was the one abused.

Whether anyone is a fan or not, the evidence has been overwhelming in favor of JD. While I think he's a brilliant actor, I was never a diehard "fan", on the contrary though I disliked AH since I first saw her. Was just a gut feeling about her that rubbed me the wrong way & now every detail I've learned about her has just proved my first gut feeling right. She is not a good person. JD is by no means perfect or without flaw either, but he sure as hell isn't the abuser here.

Nobody knows what it all looks like and feels like to the jury. What we see is in the focus of a camera, what they see is real life. I hope there are some empaths and or people with sound emotional intelligence on the jury. This whole thing is a tragedy.

It's somewhat horrifying to watch - JD's eyes look sad & traumatised when the talk is about the worst abuse he suffered. Ms Heard doesn't look the slightest bothered listening to the alleged abuse against her. She keeps doing the facial expression unnatural switching like she's faking sad & mostly looks like she's just trying to to look superior, in the know and above it all - as if it doesn't matter that she is being shown up as a highly dysfunctional person.

Poor Elaine. I really think that Amber lied to her team and that's why they have had the hardest time up there. There have been a few different reports of Elaine crying in the bathroom and her and Amber getting into it behind the scenes. Amber Heard is seriously, seriously not well.

At least USD 40k lawyers’ fee a day in court (USD 1000 per hour x 8 hours a day in court x 5 lawyers each) plus the verdict cost, then the post trial trauma that will continue to haunt and wound them each time. After listening to all the audio. I didn't hear amber saying. Oh the other day u hit me. Or whatever. She finds out JD weakness. It that he doesn't hit back. So every time she get mad. I have been a victim of DV. ANYONE who goes thru DV would 💯💯 percent document everything as well as take photos of their injuries & damages that were made. All witnesses who testified stated they’ve never seen any bruising on AH but they have on JD. JD had witnesses, police reports, medical records & actual recordings of AH being aggressive & abusive towards him. You can’t make this stuff up. The fact that he had supported evidence, ACTUAL PROOF which is what the court looks for to win a case SPEAKS VOLUME. JD was not lying & he owned up to his mistakes. He answered all the questions each lawyer asked. AH couldn’t answer a yes or no answer & kept reasoning & making excuses. AH didn’t have actual proof of anything on JD but kept beating around the bush which is what NARCISSISTS do. I feel bad for her lawyers, they’re just doing their job. AH is not making it easy for them bcos of her lying under oath.
I just honestly feel like if I'm going to be documenting anything it would be to prove my case, not just to make someone look bad you know what I mean? For all the abuse she's gone through compared to everything she's documented it doesn't add up. Even being just a regular " human" who forgets things.
