Scrat's continuous pursuit of an infernal acorn has world-changing consequences for Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Alberto Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) when the continents split apart. The continental crack-up separates Manny and his friends from the rest of the herd, including Manny's mate, Ellie (Jennifer Lopez) and rebellious daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer). The pals are desperate to return home, but a pirate (Peter Dinklage) and his ragtag crew stand in their way.

I actually like this fourth Ice Age film! Honestly, I don’t understand why there are so many dislikes towards Continental Drift. To me, the addition of Captain Gutt and his crew were interesting, including Granny, plus Shira, and I like the overall premise of this film.
Just because it’s more of the same… They add in some new characters voiced by new celebrities each film, then send the ever larger crowd of characters into another new disaster of some kind
The formula was already old by the second film
But hey, just my opinion… To each his own 😋

“Up and personal this time.” Ikr, it’s like this film was made to be watched in 3D. But seriously, it was made for that and it was an awesome experience!
If I was writing this movie (honestly I would've stopped at 3 but if I HAD to do another) I would've opened with a flashback of Manfred's relationship with his first wife and baby (I imagine was a boy). We don't need to see them dying, the cave painting sequence in 1 was more than enough context and a brilliant example of "show don't tell," but just see what kind of a father he was before the tragedy and we can compare that to how he is with his daughter now.
That would be very interesting to see

The christmas Ice Age special is pretty good
It would definitely help flesh out (and maybe even justify) the 'overprotective father' trope.

Btw I felt so bad for scrat in this movie I know its just a cartoon but
he was SO happy find the place and suffered a lot to reach that place and literally lost everything, even cried in the end,
Don't worry, we all know that once he dies he'll go to acorn heaven.
I don’t feel that bad since whenever he gets something good he finds a way to screw it up 😂.
I felt bad too but when I saw how he literally fucked up Atlantis, he deserves what he gets fr.

Same, I loved watching their scenes together. I genuinely like them as a couple.
Hell, their scenes in the fifth movie is the only thing I liked, because the shipper in me was all "WAIT PLANNING A KID? YES!!!".
I absolutely love that famous rapper's Nicki Minaj (Steffie) and Drake (Ethan) have lent their voices to Ice Age Continental Drift. Oh let's not forget Jennifer Lopez as Shira. She was great. Whoever the casting director was for Ice Age 4 he or she did an awesome job casting those celebrities.

I mean I kinda get why ppl dont like this movie that much, I mean its hella exaggerated and pirates appearing outta nowhere kinda random BUT I still enjoy this movie even tho is my least fav ice age movie still enjoyable(yes I prefer the collision course over this one but collision course also is the most hated one) But still good and the CGI is great

you see if, manny is overprotective because he already los his family once and he literally saw his wife and child get killed by humans, he loves ellie and peaches and he would give his life to get them safe. ;-;

Tbh, this is also my fav ice age movie amongst the 2nd and 3rd movies. There's something about this movie that made me enjoy it! The only gripe I have was granny, I wish they made her a lil loveable rather than being annoying sort of. That's all my gripe in this movie. Also great reaction!

I love the Ice Age franchise(except for the fifth one). While the third is my favorite in terms of plot and characters, the fourth has a special place in my heart because it's one of the very few movies I saw in theaters after it came out.
I didn't hate the 5th one but I agree but it was kind of weird like with the whole outer space thing and then peaches getting married even though she was a teen in the fourth film

The strangest thing is that the kid part of my memory thinks of this movie as still recent because it's one of the "newer" ones, but it's ten years old
Unironically this. 2012 was really one of the better years.
This one is my top favorite of the Ice Age films and I liked how the credits went down with showing the actors and the song was just beautiful. I loved this film and I'm glad you reacted to it

I had no idea that there was another "ICE AGE" movie past part 3 but I really enjoyed this so much with the reactions and commentary.... it really makes a difference . The squirrel sunk his Atlantis .... that was crazy funny. I don't think I could pick a favorite part in this movie ; there were so many moments to like. Definitely an underrated sequel, this is actually my second favorite after the first one. I love all the new characters. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The fifth one isn't as good as the other ones, but still worth watching, I think.

Although my least favorite in the franchise, this movie was still really enjoyable. The best thing about it is that we got Diago's mate Shira and Captain was actually a nice villain. The only annoying part about this movie for me was the other Mammoth friends of peaches. Also I'm waiting for your reaction on 5th movie. Unpopular opinion, I like it and I think it ends all 3 friend's journey perfectly.

Story time; I had this movie on my IPad, in what I believe 2018 when we went on holiday to Lanzarote, and I swear I’ve watched it 100 times over the following year until we went back one year later
Hey Tim, there is a Christmas special called a Mammoth Christmas which take place between 3 and 4 as peaches is a kid. I'm unsure you want to watch it now because it's way pass the holiday but it just a suggestion. There is is also an Easter special called The Great Egg-scapede which take place after this movie. It's your decision if you want to watch them.
The siren scene frightens me as a kid long time ago 😅

There's a christmas short (it's only like 20 min long) that takes place between the previous movie and this one that shows what Peaches was like as a kid. Idk if you've reacted to that one already but if you haven't you should check it out. It's funny and Peaches's attitude is SO MUCH like her mother.

Personally I have mixed opinions about this film. I don’t think it’s terrible but it isn’t one of Blue Sky’s best either. Though I will admit that there are genuinely a few jokes that made me laugh.

To be honest, despite this movies faults. I can easily call this a good movie. I have a really fun time watching it movie easily has the best villain in the franchise. I wish that Manny was still upset about his argument with Peaches and Sid and Diego debate on if they should tell Peaches about Mannys backstory and if it will hurt Peaches or help Peaches see Mannys POV
