i'd love to see a remake of this game for the switch and playstation that updates the models, textures, resollution, and sidequests but also keep the multiplayer aspect of it with full on online play (and local co-op for the switch version)
Dude i just said that on here lol. This game is ready for a remake on the switch. The portability of the switch would be ideal for the local multiplayer. Im really hoping dq11 sells well so we can get a 9 remake and get 10 brought to the states.

DQ 9 was actually my first DQ. I've played it over 5 or 6 times, but I never got to do the multiplayer except for one time. I still love it so much, and I am still disappointed by every single class system I've ever faced because DQ 9's is easily the best one I ever got to play with. I also really wish they brought back character creation. I wanna customize the luminary in DQ-11 so badly.
Ooof yeah. If there's one thing I wish I could do it's tweak around some of the Luminary's appearance. I wouldn't want too much since his eyes are a big thing in the narrative, but an option to change hairstyles or color palettes- maybe something close to the way Witcher handles Geralt's appearance- would have been grand!
ChikaCherry / Artist of Trash - I always thought that Square-Enix would have made a direct sequel on the Nintendo 3DS, especially with the STREETPASS/SPOTPASS feature, but nope! Missed opportunity for sure. Sad face - 😢 !

Wow, what a ride these video series has been. Dragon Quest IX was the game that introduced me to the series back in the day, and, even after beating every English main series game, it still holds a very special place in my heart. It's pretty hard to deny the fact that DQVIII is the best game in the series, and I think the producers of this game knew that it would take some serious work to top it. Instead of doing that, they took the game in a totally different direction, and it rules. Like you said, we lost a lot of good features from the past, and this game is nowhere near as grand or polished as DQVIII. But dang, that multiplayer was and still is a blast. Back in the day, I immediately got my friends to buy the game to play with me, and we had so much fun building our team synergy together and showing off our great equipment we got as lucky drops. Some of my best video gaming memories come from this game. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this game/series! I'm surprised you are gonna try to play DQX, but I'm excited to hear about it!
Glad you enjoy these games as much as I do! I identify a lot of points in my life with the Dragon Quest game I was playing at the time, so hearing you talk about playing with your friends brought back a few memories for me too! Hope you stick around to see what I come up with next!

I don't agree that the arc after the figs was that bad. I feel like if you're gonna get blasted by massive purple magic beams at the beginning you want to keep playing to see why you got blasted by massive purple magic beams.
As a third grader in a rural town in Virginia I never knew that my favorite game as a kid was multiplayer, I got it from the bargain bin at target so that didn’t help either.
@@soulsilver8540It’s the location difference i lived in suburban south florida and also had my parents pay $40 for it like a decade ish back but somewhere like rural Virginia where they’re less gaming inclined cuz ya know how the sticks are, games that aren’t insanely western popular will go on sale quickly
You might have sold me on this entire series. You and HappyConsoleGamer. Bought 11, loving it. Now I’m on the hunt to find all others prior. Long time FF fan. Admired DragonQuest from a distance. I imagine as I get older, my style of games become more focused. Nice vids!
Dude I've fallen in love with the series since I played 11 on my now sold PS4! Hurts that my PSN log in doesn't work any more for some reason, so now have to buy it again when I get my PS5 and I have 7 on my DS and 3-4 on my android phone haha
I don't think "appealing to the west" was that big of a factor when developing this game. The Japanese love handheld multiplayer games, just look at Pokémon and Monster Hunter. Getting together with friends and co-workers to play these games is a social event of sorts, and even just playing with random people around you is no that uncommon, as most Japanese cities are densely populated, it's way easier to find and gather players around the area than it is in your average American city. And Handhelds are a smash hit in Japan, way more than in the west, in no small part due to people relying a lot on public transportation, which makes the idea of having something you can play in the go for fifteen minutes very appealing (and mobile gaming wasn't really a thing back in the DS days). So I think what Square-Enix and Level 5 had in mind was more appealing to these publics in addition to the existing huge fanbase than appealing to the west, as even with VIII's success they probably didn't know if it was an one time thing or if the series' popularity would keep growing. EDIT: I see you talked about all this in your video later. That's what I get for commenting before watching the whole thing. Though my point stands, I think that is what made them want to make a multiplayer handheld game, not western appeal.
There were probably a lot of factors at play: You've got the need to keep the powerhouse of the fanbase (Japan) happy, but you also want to capitalize on the modicum of success and grow the audience in the other markets (US/Europe). Multiplayer was big around 2009, everyone had a multiplayer game or was trying to squeeze it into places it originally wasn't. The West was really big into multiplayer experiences, yeah? For Dragon Quest to have a multiplayer component was odd in comparison to its previous entries; Japan was going to buy DQIX regardless of a co-op feature and it was going to blow up no matter what. I'm convinced the multiplayer features were meant to pull in groups of people in the West who wanted that multiplayer experience in an RPG. But again- yeah. Miles of distance between people and only local co-op severely hamstrung that whole aspect of the game. But it still worked to bring in an audience! So many comments on this video point out how IX was their first Dragon Quest- and that's definitely for a reason!
Watching this in 2021 after sinking about 30 hours into DQIX. This is an excellent and fair retrospective that I really enjoyed. The quests are super dull but the combat keeps me coming back. And as a big fan of DQ Monsters, I really like the grottos. I can only imagine how much fun multiplayer would be. There is a fan server available to unlock some of the DLC quests and such, but it isn't the same to see all the guests show up at the inn at once and stuff like that.
This game means a lot to me My first major RPG/ JRPG And my experience with this game is pretty crazy compared to most It took me 5 years to beat the final boss lol
Same, i got the game when i was somewhere between 8-12 and i couldn’t beat the boss for the life of me so i eventually put it down and didn’t touch the game again until this year and finally beat it i felt so happy finally ending a decade long quest that i had to immediately replay the game again
19:29 I am so glad that I got all the content when I did because you can actually _spread_ the DLC to other save files. Now I just need to get around to finding another cart if I want replay this whole game again.
Dragon Quest 9 is and will be my favorite DQ me and my sister with two of my cousins spent months going through every dungeon we could get our hands on!
dragon quest 9 is my all time favorite dragon quest game for me I played it so much I managed to glitch the game a little from sometimes when I use the holy water the text is gibrish
I hope it comes to the Switch someday. As someone who has already gotten into the Dragon Quest games; started with 8 & than 11, I want to try out the others to see gow they hold up.
I agree with your ranks almost entirely. I knew I was going to place III above II above I and I knew VII above VI but I wasn't sure where I wanted to put them together. At first I was considering III > VII > VI > II > I since while VI and VII were pretty bad in comparison to most games they still had a lot of content but honestly I couldn't possibly say either's long content really was worth it as much as II and I were worth playing. I can fully agree with VIII > IV > V > III > II > I > VII > VI. IX's missing? Yep. That's the one I have to dissagree with. It's actually my favorite in the series. The battle mechanics and customization are more important to me than most of the other catagories listed for where it didn't do as good. It's multiplayer was fun albeit it's true finding another player was few and far between. If it were to get a remake with WiFi comparability it'd easily be my most played DQ game (even if it wasn't already).
Level 5 is my favourite studio that i always forget about until i am observing a Level 5 game. This is a great video. Never played this one, honestly cause the mutliplayer turned me off of it. But i think i could get into this, after seeing how you contextualized it.
Dragon quest 9 taught me to always have a group of thieves at hand, to print out a map with all the item sources and to just screw getting recepies naturally, instead googling the entire list (and don´t get me started on hoimi tables, map calculators and chest drop timers)
It's a little late to be doing a remake for 3DS... Nintendo supports the system for now but the Switch has eclipsed the 3DS in all regards. Now a Switch version... that would be really epic. That and Dragon Quest X.
Dragon Quest IX was one of the first DS Games I haver had, and one of the best ones. I've seen other RPG games like this one, and a few things stood out that made this game one of the greatest: the freedom to customize and choose your characters, equipment and battles. Yeah, random encounters can get irritating and annoying when you're trying to do a speedrun. But also after the game, you get to continue doing whatever you want! I really like strategy games like these; you'd get an upperhand on what to do. Though, I never realized the deeper message being conveyed in every situation encountered in this game. You did a good job explaining it.
DQ9 was my first and still my favorite. the soundtrack, the dynamic angles of the combat, customization, multiplayer even the story i just love DQ9, i like the other games too but 9 is just special to me.
I had an amazing moment on my 3rd or so playthrough of DQ9. It was the final boss, and I was doing fairly well but dreading a powerful attack. He used that move that drains all your MP to do massive damage, but everyone survived. AND THEN EVERYONE IN MY PARTY GOT COUP-DE-GRACE AT THE SAME TIME AND WE USED THE CO-OP-DE-GRACE WITH THE WARRIOR ABILITY TO DEAL 1600 DAMAGE IN ONE SHOT AND KILL HIM.
i played DQIX completely single player. as a Western fan i didn’t know anyone else who had the game, and being 13 at the time i couldn’t just drive to a meet-up or something. it was also my first non-monsters Dragon Quest experience, as i did play the first monsters game on GBC. and honestly, it was still an incredible game that i had lots of fun with. the fact that you could create your own party was highly appealing, as i didn’t have to rely on whether or not i liked or related to the characters. i liked that feature so much that i played DQIII many years later, and then played DQXI and DQV. Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest IX are the two games that actually got me into JRPGs as a whole, beyond just monster tamers like pokemon or DQ monsters.
Honestly, the multiplayer and the sheer amount of replayability this game has with legacy bosses and the treasure maps, this game is probably in my top 3 favorite games of all time. I literally still play this game! Great review man, you earned a sub from me!
Gotta admit, I'm glad we got some DQ8 gushing in the DQ9 video. Out of all the "in Japan" gaming things, this made me jealous way too quickly. I get it, but damn. So many design decisions just don't work outside of that unique environment and it can drag some titles way down from what they could (and are in Japan) be. Such a fantastic combat system... fuck. I should look into getting this and a copy for a friend. Wait, it still works doesn't it? It's local, not wifi, so while wifi elements obviously wouldn't work, you can still PLAY coop right? Suppose I'll look into that before purchase. Gotta thank ya for the impromptu ranking of DQ games. Dude, I gotta cut the fat and just say I love your work. You continue to keep things entertaining while changing tone whenever it feels right, ranging from utilizing humor, or interesting facts, or deeper analysis unique to your interpretations/lessons you found in each title. It can be so easy to fuck any of that up, or bury your video in exclusively one type of entertainment (not a bad thing, but the balancing act is impressive), but it really feels like you've been nailing it again and again, giving each tone it's proper attention and ending with a video that does it all. I don't mean to give you a yes-man style praise without offering more useful critique, especially since everything I've said is obvious. It's literally what all your vids seem to attempt, so it isn't like I'm even spotlighting what works so you can improve from that, so I apologize for a lack of usefulness in this comment- just take it as excitable praise from a viewer who loves your stuff, my dude. Also, this entire DQ retrospective has done myself some favors. Before this series started my only DQ experience was DWM/DWM2 and I was able to use this series as a jumping off point to explore more of the franchise. I've thrown in 4 more DQ games (and a quick and disappointing look at DQM Caravan Hearts) under my belt because your enthusiasm for the series kind of gave me that kick in the rump to give them a shot. So, additionally, thanks for that as well :P
redphienix thanks Red! The balancing act is indeed intentional, but it's nice to see that it is, indeed, an act people pick up on! I did my own research into the co-op stuff in prep for the video, and according to a couple places yeah: co-op still works- even on 3ds! Thank you for coming along for the ride too! Here's to another year!
I've spent my childhood in this game, finished it probably around 6-8 times. I still come back to it every so often and still love it. Rarely played multiplayer though.
I know I’m a few months late but I just came across this video and I just gotta say I NEVER KNEW co-op de grâce existed and I’ve Played this game so many times I’m simply astounded
Time to start playing dragon quest IX again. Thank god for this channel man , there is literally no where to find good lengthy dragon quest reviews . Really appreciate the work u put in on these so glad that they r all here
Been playing this game on and off since I was a kid back when it came out. I was farming metal slimes while watching this. Awesome video!!! I adore DQ9 with all my heart
Strange, but I have just re watched your other dragon quest video's. I always wonder how you make your video's so good? I love them. Thank you for this new one!
Hey GC I’m a new fan that found one of your videos on my break at work. Your videos are great and of excellent quality. Reminding me a lot of ProJared in how detailed your game reviews are. Going into many aspects and making it entertaining on top of it. I’m surprised with the lack of subscribers you have and think you deserve many more. You’re analytical yet entertaining reviews are amazing and I can’t wait to see more of them. Your dragon quest 8 review is was convinced me to get it and so far I’m loving it. I can’t wait to see more of your videos and hope for your success.
Playing this again. Yes, if you started this sick game over again after 2014, there is a 'save editer', that works with the 'Nds adapter plus', to unlock the dlc, Inn guests, and the other content that was exclusive to connecting to the wfc connection. Yes this works with the actual ds cartridge.
I used that save editor to gain access to the dlc for footage of it! ^_^ Sad that it turned out to all be on the cart already though. Unless later prints of the cart had it pre-packaged?
Hello! I just found out this channel today as I was browsing the Dragon Quest subreddit. And binge-watched all your retrospective DQ videos. I've gotta say this was a lot of amazing work and I hope to watch more of your content, as well as a XI retrospective after it finally releases in a less than a week, hopefully by the end of the year theres another one. Or next year. Or whenever. Thanks a lot for your hard work on this, and making a DQ fan very happy to see in videos how much it advanced. Sadly we'll never see an X release outside Japan...
I remember playing this for years when it came out grinding the treasure maps and finding out there was dlc that I couldn’t get was devastating until I played with a friend at college over ten years later who happened to still have the dlc was so happy to be able to get the full content
I'd love to get more games where your character is the support character! I actually think Xenoblade Chronicles has something like that as well; Shulk plays much more like a support character with his collection of buffs than he does a tank or dps!
Completed the video, and I want to say, THANK YOU! You've finally covered DQ 1-9, which is an achievement in itself, but only that, you've made an excellent retrospective series on it! Also, loved that you included the info about series' development, as well as it's cultural importance in Japan. Not many people outside know about series' legacy. Once again, great job! Have a great rest of 2017.
Hello! I'm a new subscriber to your channel and let me say, your style of presenting a review/commentary is by far my most favorite on this platform! I absolutely love how you were able to include a personalised touch to each aspect of the video 😃✨ Definitely looking forward to other videos of yours!
It's been two and a half years, and the difference is tremendous! Really glad I went through with this; probably what pushed me to get better at editing! And thanks for being here since the start, Adam! I'm proud of both of us honestly.
Yeah, your editing is night and day comparing this episode to the first. I'm proud of both of us too. I remember when you had about 200 subscribers and announced you were going to review all the Dragon Quest games. Now you have an audience who crave each new episode. Pretty cool to see.
With proper time and effort put into a remake this could really help boost the franchise, with the success of 11 if SE gave new fans a very different multiplayer experience of DQ it could help the series even more and hopefully give it the recognition it needs
I've beaten this game three times and spent a total of 500 hours in it and I never knew that co-op de grace were a thing. Damn guess I need to go play it again
Me, a lonely person with over 999 hours in the game over multiple save files that realized multiplayer was a feature: "I'm going to buy another cartridge to get all the features without needing other people"
I have the game, and I like it! I never realized that the Dragon Quest series is about family. I can see how Dragon Quest IX has to do with parent/guardian and child.
2:57 I think there is a objective way to rate art witch is to compare its strengths and weaknesses to come to its worth but the joy we receive from it is clearly what's subjective from all creation
I remember during my first playthrough having trouble with the Empire bosses, but in my second one my main character was a MAX shield Paladin who just ate the attacks up like they where nothing.
I played this game back when it came out and it was really fun. I was in college then so I had a group of friends to play with. The bad thing is that now due to the lack of DLC plus lack of multiplayer it's a shell of it's former self.
Loved this game. Was my first intro to DQ, Picked up a copy for me and my gf at the time just looking for some rpgs we can play together. I went and played every dq I could ever since
I remember plaing this, I was the first one to get it, and I beat the game, so when my friend got it, I had already completed it and went to his world with a very strong character, wandering around until it was time for a boss fight. Needless to say, I was a heavy damage dealer, I think it was gladiator. His entire team ended up focused around buffing up m character for hits, oomphing and giving him tension.
DQ9 was my first DQ game and first RPG, and for the longest time I just couldn't get into it. I didn't really understand how RPGs work at the time and repeatedly abandoned it only to restart it months later. I recently picked it up again after hearing that 11 was coming to the switch, and I'm finally getting invested in this game. I'm having way more fun with it than I ever had and it's making me want to get the other games while I'm waiting for 11 to release. It's a shame the online features aren't functional anymore, but at least they weren't essential for finishing the story.
This has been the only DQ game i played and Loved it! I played with friends a few times but spent ages solo and it was amazing! DQ11 comes out today so imma play that now and see how it feels (i guess it will be more like 8)
I've been waiting forever for this
I'm so happy you stuck around to see it! ^_^ Thanks for stickin' around! And another congratulations for you, man! You're doing great!

After watching this all I want to do is start up a new save in DQ9. Really great analysis of this game as well as the whole series!
AWWWWWWWW I'm blushing! Thank you!
I never knew that this game was even multiplayer and I loved the game you could make your party whatever you wanted which I love in games!
When you realize this game is already getting a planned remake and might add the dlc with it
Bugster Lincapoop hey as long as we get everything in the base game I’m fine
X to doubt
There was never any confirmation of a remake being in the works.
kapp
Toriyama did mention briefly that its something they are working on. He said that in like 2019 though. I cant find the source
This was my favorite game growing up, And it will always hold a place in my heart.
The one DQ game that would make perfect sense to be re-released on mobile isn't.
Recently discovered this retrospective series. It's so great, thank for your work!
Holy shieeet. It's been 84 years...
Kept you waiting, huh?
ngl that cat samurai had me throwing my ds i swear the ai new who to go for when i didn't want it to
Level 5 is my favourite studio that i always forget about until i am observing a Level 5 game. This is a great video. Never played this one, honestly cause the mutliplayer turned me off of it. But i think i could get into this, after seeing how you contextualized it.
Totally! Still very much playable in single-player. The multiplayer changes are very apparent though. KEEP MAKING STUFF I LOVE WATCHING IT.
I’d know multiplayer isn’t necessary, I beat the game four or so times and I’ve never had enough friends who play the game to do it. *sobs*
Awesome vid, man. This was my first Dragon Quest and loved it despite no one to play with. Looking forward to playing XI plus your analysis of X!
X is the toughie! I might try to skirt past the IP block, but I'm gonna need a VPN and all that stuff. XI is definitely happening!
This game was my childhood. If you want to make a brother cry, just play some of that music, and the tears will start flowing.
Dragon quest 9 taught me to always have a group of thieves at hand, to print out a map with all the item sources and to just screw getting recepies naturally, instead googling the entire list (and don´t get me started on hoimi tables, map calculators and chest drop timers)
Lol facts
Will you eventually be reviewing Dragon Quest XI? It’s amazing so far!
Woah this game was my childhood along with pokemon
I think they should remake it for the 3DS
Why stop there? Port it to the Switch and reignite the DQ9 craze on top of the Switch wagon!
YEAH YEAH YEAH! THAT'S THE MAGIC, THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF.
@@GCVazquez I was not expecting you to be reading replies this long after upload, you're awesome dude
This is hands down one of my favorite games of all time
i played DQIX completely single player. as a Western fan i didn’t know anyone else who had the game, and being 13 at the time i couldn’t just drive to a meet-up or something. it was also my first non-monsters Dragon Quest experience, as i did play the first monsters game on GBC. and honestly, it was still an incredible game that i had lots of fun with. the fact that you could create your own party was highly appealing, as i didn’t have to rely on whether or not i liked or related to the characters. i liked that feature so much that i played DQIII many years later, and then played DQXI and DQV. Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest IX are the two games that actually got me into JRPGs as a whole, beyond just monster tamers like pokemon or DQ monsters.
I just downloaded all the dlc from the fan server using the dns trick and feel really happy that I have a much more complete game.
Isn't that great?! I love discovering new things in games I've played for years.
This video made me dig out my copy. It's been like five years and I don't remember jack shit about the plot, but I remember I loved this game.
Ah... i forgot how good this video was.
One day we will get a remake of DQ 9. one day...
My first Dragon Quest. Been Hooked Ever since. But GOD! I WANT A REMAKE OF THIS SO BADLY!
Cant wait to hear about the success and masterpiece dragon quest 10 was
Now and forever my favorite video game of all time. Never have a fallen in love like this, nor do I think I will again.
Jeez, I just finished these videos and your enthusiasm for them is so infectious that I just might empty my wallet buying them all.
Every now and then, someone gives you a compliment that is exactly the kind of compliment you always dream of getting. Thank you very much! ^_^
Anytime! Keep up the good work, and I'll keep up my newfound love for Dragon Quest
Strange, but I have just re watched your other dragon quest video's. I always wonder how you make your video's so good? I love them. Thank you for this new one!
Lots of practice and time spent learning things! Thanks for giving the series another look! It means a lot to me!
GC Positive Not only that! Most try to be funny, but you just are. You should go into acting.
Really glad I found this series, very entertaining.
This game was great. I remember going to a mall when I was in Chicago to get one of the DLC quests 😂
I don't know how many times I have rewatched this series by now.
I needed to hear this today, so thank you very VERY much! ^_^
28:47 i had that feeling when noone was able to hit the metal slime but then my mage came in and landed a critical insta kill
This is the first video I've seen of you and you've already become one of my favorite RUclipsrs! Amazing job!
Good video.
But more importantly...
Your pun made my smile shine,
when you introduced Dragon Quest IX.
I love you, Chris.
I remember playing this for years when it came out grinding the treasure maps and finding out there was dlc that I couldn’t get was devastating until I played with a friend at college over ten years later who happened to still have the dlc was so happy to be able to get the full content
Love the closing statement at the end. Very profound and all those fancy words.
Thank you!
Not often that you see a support as the main character of a story. It's unique in that sense thats for sure.
Have a fun rest of the year yourself! I'm glad you liked the cultural stuff- I wanna do more of it in future retrospectives!
Dude the changes this game made to combat are like, the reason that 11 is so good. This is an important game for quality of life improvements.
Dragon Quest III was my first and, naturally, wound up being my favourite. I liked DQIX's party system, because it reminded me of DQIII !
You started talking about the sidequests and I just started laughing... it was such a pain....
Hello! I'm a new subscriber to your channel and let me say, your style of presenting a review/commentary is by far my most favorite on this platform! I absolutely love how you were able to include a personalised touch to each aspect of the video 😃✨ Definitely looking forward to other videos of yours!
It is crazy that you have now done 9. Time flew. The episodes have only gotten better. Well done.
Ive literally played though this game 5 times and I’ve never gotten a 4 member coup de grace
I’m pretty sure it was in the Corvus fight, whenever my whole party survived a Magic Burst they would all get their Coup De Grace
@@RealCryptoTest It's certainly possible, I didn't use it as much as I could have
I got everyone with CdG ready a few times but most specific character combinations kinda suck, the only good ones being electrolight and soul sanctum
With proper time and effort put into a remake this could really help boost the franchise, with the success of 11 if SE gave new fans a very different multiplayer experience of DQ it could help the series even more and hopefully give it the recognition it needs
still like to rewatch the serien u did ❤
I've beaten this game three times and spent a total of 500 hours in it and I never knew that co-op de grace were a thing. Damn guess I need to go play it again
OH NO. Yeah go back and play it!
@@GCVazquez haha yeah I guess I gotta now. Time to go pull out my old DS bag
Nice video, you said all the things that I felt when I played this game!
Just finished 8 tonight best DQ I've played...I'll start this after
I like absolutely love your room with all the one piece stuff that is literally heaven for me
Me, a lonely person with over 999 hours in the game over multiple save files that realized multiplayer was a feature:
"I'm going to buy another cartridge to get all the features without needing other people"
I played 8 when it came out and I’m just wrapping up 11. Excited to play this on DS while replaying 8 on ps2 during Covid-19 lockdown
This was my first and favourite DQ game...
And my childhood! :D
In my opinion the story in 9 was fantastic. DQ9 is my favorite in the series.
Nice work had to watch this one twice keep up the good work!!
DQ IX up scaled looks way better than I ever thought it would
I have the game, and I like it!
Hoping the rumoured remake is true. And hopefully the story is polished
This was one of my favorite ds games.
It's one of my favorite DS games now too ;)
DQ9 was my first DQ game and first RPG, and for the longest time I just couldn't get into it.
DQ11 comes out today so imma play that now and see how it feels (i guess it will be more like 8)
5:50 I was using headphones...I’m scarred for life. 😂
2:46 Dragon Quest XI is now--objectively--the best game of all time.
I friggen love this game
Literally 28:50 is when I decided to subscribe. So funny
