    how do you get the Dam Standard to behave so well? When I use it I get these weird dots and stuff. I have to use a modified Dam Standard, not the base one.

      most likely you need to adjust your roll distance under the stroke menu. it also could be your alpha, see how the artist has the brush type, then dots, then brush alpha? make sure you don't have spray enabled
