Craig's pipes and the foxhunter reel played on bass concertina and viola. Recorded from a concert at the Sugar Club, Dublin. Videography by Robert J. Maguire.
'Unvetted military age illegal aliens'! Joking or maybe it's not a matter for joking with arsonists on the loose. It's the golden age for Trad and our New Irish already starring.
Cormac, not having any instrument or tuner on me, what key is this in, and how is your concertina tuned? (P.S. I would hazard a guess that you do your own concertina tuning?)
@@aaronduffy3521, so if he is using the same fingering pattern as a C/G (for D music), then the concertina might be an Ab/Eb? However we don't know what pattern he's using.
This is some of the tightest playing I've heard in years. What a great time to be alive. We're living through a trad renaissance and it's beautiful.
indeed, kicked off in part by the lock downs i suspect.

See you back west on Saturday nite
They're both mad.
They're Irish and it's Irish music.
Yay! No accompaniment!
Is it possible to listen to this entire performance anywhere? Amazing playing

Saturday night in west Kerry
If the violin is called the fiddle, would viola then be the fiddola?
Yes. Often in this house anyway.
Superb! Someone knows what type of concertina he is plain'?
Great playing, i bought your cd recently
great dynamic playing! fascinating how two contrasting styles meet so well - good musicians
I would argue that their styles are both pretty similar. Intricate and complex while still being incredibly raw and emotional.
Simply outstanding.
👏👏👏

Gorgeous play by Cormac and Liam so amazing play ever adore this ever thank you Both amazing ever
First time I have ever heard such a concertina. Love the sound
Very rare to find someone that plays a traditional style the way Cormac does. Most concertina players even well known ones are playing bland stuff.
English folk concertina?
Beautiful.

Thank you. Hmmm I know that you use a C/G to play music in D and G. I wonder what configuration of concertina could give you Bb? Ab/Eb?
@@inlandonline Bb / F possibly
