Good call with Bookmarks. I come from the Qlikview world and this can be done easily with "Dimension Groups". I really hope PBI puts something like this in in the future. Great vid!
Do you have a video or website that explains how to do this dimensions. I'd like to change the x-axis for a chart by picking items from a slicer, Year/Month/Day. When I select the year it shows all the years in the x-axis, when I select month it shows all the emonths for the current year todays date, and when select days the xaxis shows all the days for the current month todays date

Great implementation of bookmarks. It really makes a difference from a user experience perspective. It feels a bit tedious sometimes to configure all, but it's worth it. 🙏
Agreed! Features are better for the end-user, not the developer with bookmarks, haha. But worth it!

Hi Reid, I always like the buttons/bookmarks solution. What I find hard to use in this case is to have data enabled in the bookmark since it kind of limits the use of rest of the filters on a page. Hence I mostly end up with multiple charts to flip between. Something that does work well for something as easy as a calendar is the use of an unpivoted table. Then the Quarter,Month and Day became a value in a dimension and you can easily toggle between them
Hi Joost, good comments. One benefit of using selected visuals, is that even with data checked, any slicer selections or filters still won't be reset, as long as those visuals weren't selected upon bookmark states capture

Through bookmarks selected visual and hide/show the visual on the selection month/day/quarter. (You need to create three visual)

Unfortunately no, bookmarks just capture per page, not across all pages. The only work arounds I can think of for this would be too complex to explain in just a RUclips comment

Can we have a workaround applied to multiple pages?
Sadly with a bookmark implementation it only works per page for each bookmark. No way to capture across pages.

Hi there. Control click will always be required when working in PBID. As it’s meant to make sure developers don’t accidentally activate a bookmark unintentionally. Once published though buttons only require a click (no control)
