I'm heading to Seoul in June so this video was so informative. I was trying to figure out how I would pay at stores and restaurants without using my credit card all the time or withdrawing Won. I only knew about the T-money card. Thanks so much!
The kiosks only take specific bills for the foreign currencies, something to be aware of if someone is coming to Korea with a stack of cash, currently its the following (these are listed in the app User Guide -> Top Up -> Cash Top Up) * KRW: 50,000 / 10,000 / 5,000 / 1,000 * JPY: 10,000 / 5,000 / 1,000 * USD: 100 / 50 / 20 / 10 * CNY: 100 * TWD: 1,000 / 500 * HKD: 1,000 / 500 / 100 * EUR: 100 / 50 / 20 / 10 * SGD: 100 / 50 * AUD: 100 / 50 * GBP: 20 * CAD: 50 * THB: 1,000 * PHP: 1,000 * VND: 500,000 * MYR: 100 * IDR: 100,000
Very clear narrative. I'll be going to Seoul in November and will be getting the WOW card as i'll be visiting other cities outside Seoul. Watched your video on Climate card, but I think the WOW card will do. Thank you, Steve.
Thanks for your helpful sharing, already subscribed to your channel. Hope you always keep the passion in sharing with us. Can I ask if me and my friend travel to Seoul, can we use only 1 Wowpass for payment? Or each of us must have one for transportation payment?
Thank you for the video! This was very helpful! I do have one question about loading money for the t-money section of the card though. Did you say you can only top it up at the subway machines? Can you not top it up at any place where the normal t-money cards can be topped up? I'm heading to South Korea in a couple of days, and want to use Wowpass so I don't have to deal with foreign transaction fees!
I am currently in Seoul and I just purchased WOW cards (for me and my spouse). A few comments on using apps: (1). Google map is significantly better than the native Korean mapping app. It is quicker in locating names and it is also better at routing public transportation. I wish that Korea would provide more support for it since it is superior to homegrown type. I sorely miss Google mapping. If anyone uses Google map in Japan, then you know what I am talking about. 2). Uber is also better than their local taxi app. It can quickly locate destinations when local app fails to do so. Sorry for the ranting, but I am somewhat frustrated with some of the difficulties in navigating Korea!
you are unfortunately not going to be able to find many places in Google Maps Naver is actually super simple to use, I did do a short on it over on instagram if you want to check that out - instagram.com/reel/C80vXD-B7Gd/?igsh=MWJjYm9vMTB5anNpeg%3D%3D
How is the Wowpass different from non transaction fees credit cards? Understand there are some discounts from merchants. How much Korean cash should one bring for night markets please? We’re going in November for 5 days. Thanks!
WOWPass is different in that it is a cash card that is to say apart form the exchange rate you are not charged overseas fees when using it in Korea I primarily used it because i didnt want to bring too much cash How much for markets depends on how much you want to eat! I have a video on Namdaemun market where I showed how much food you can get for 20 US dollars just to give u an idea Enjoy your trip in Novemebr!
Thanks so much for the very helpful and thorough info. I wonder how's good the exchange rates for foreign currencies are as compared to bank charges. Do you know?
Hey hi thank you for this video really helpful! I am from India and am travelling in next 2 days to Korea and have downloaded the Wow pass app but I am not able to view the restaurants list like how you are able to.. could you please help me here. Thank you!
Hello ! My mom and I are planning our trip for South Korea, and your videos are very informative, so thank you very much ! I do have one question though : If we take this WOWpass, can we use the linked T-Money card for two people or do we have to buy one independently ? We only plan on using one debit card, but I have heard that you can only use one T-Money per person (at least per adult, and we both are).
Your video is very informative, because until now I did not know about this card and it will be very useful for my future trip. Now I have the question of knowing if when I recharge the card through the app, they will charge me a commission. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this informative video! I will be traveling next week and it was very helpful :) do you know how long it takes if you load up the wowpass through the app with your credit card? Is it immediately on your wowpass?
Thank you very much for this information. One question: to load the Wowpass, you have to introduce banknotes of your own currency (euros for me)? Is that it?
definitely get separate ones =) if you plan on getting a sim card or esim some packages come with free tmoney cards - ruclips.net/video/zsK13O_LIOs/видео.html
This is really helpful. Thank you. I’m going to Korea this month & have downloaded the app but must I only use the app to pay for things or can I use the physical card? Do I need to purchase the physical wow pass card? Thank you.
Hello! This may sound like a dumb question but if I purchase the package with the USIM included, with the USIM, am I going to get a KOREAN phone number? I need a +82 😅😊
@PhatLifeProject, hi there just want to ask about wowpoass card. I reserve one for our koroean trip. I just wonder why the card have the wowpass and tmoney. There is an option to load both wowpass and tmoney. What is the purpose of having wowpass and tmoney in one card? Appreciate your answer.
T Money is not owned by WowPass, so there are 2 balances in there that serve 2 different purposes, TMoney for public transportation and WOWPass that is a cash card
@@PhatLifeProject leaving for Korea tonight, that is so helpful as that bus is going straignt to our hotel in Myeong-dong. Thanks a lot. God bless you and your great channel.❤️
Can you convert the remaining KRW balance to your own currency at the end of a trip or would you need to withdraw KRW and then exchange the cash at a currency exchange
great question! Yes, you can withdraw cash in KRW from your card via a WOW Exchange kiosk. However, you need to download the WOWPASS app, register your card, and enter 8-digit code to the app which will be displayed to you through a WOW Exchange kiosk. Then, you are able to withdraw your balance in KRW
according to their official website they do take AMEX, do note that the WOWPAss balance can be topped up using AMEX but the TMoney balance has to be topped up using cash

And one more question what is best way to get from Incheon airport to Daegu? Book train online in advance or buy tickets at arrival?
where do you withdraw the remaining money at the end of your trip?
At any WOWPASS machine, check the locator within the app or on the WOWPASS website for the closest machine to you :)

Would you recommend exchanging money at the Incheon Airport first and then deposit it in the card or get the card directly using my country currency?
always compare rates in your local banks first - they tend to be more favourable
@@PhatLifeProjectI live in China. My Chinese bank currency is not always favorable, but I'll definitely check it now. Tks for the reminder.
