It is not important for Rory Gallagher to be inducted into the Rock N Roll hall of fame. Rory is already in the most important hall of fame, In people minds, hearts, on their record player and their history of brilliant rocking music, Rory has been there from te very beginning, from the first time people got to hear and see this master in action. Rory was a man of the people and it will always be this way.

I was in Belfast that night. Can't remember if it was raining, but apparently so judging (as usual) by the brolly being waved around at 3.23! Another fantastic Rory performance. My countryman Gary Moore was a good technician, but Rory had it all; soul, touch, feel, skill, humor, warmth, humility, and unlimited brilliance.

Clapton himself is on record as citing Rory Gallagher as "The man who got me back into the Blues". To my mind, that sums it all up. Rory NEVER strayed from his beloved Blues. He was THE best, plain and simple. RIP Rory.

Rory got me really into blues, before i got into rory gallagher i had convinced myself that i would never be able to become a blues artist i was just a white boy, but Rory has really showed me that color doesn't matter as long as you got feeling!

I think the litmus test for genius/excellence is how he/she can sound live. if anyone truly LOVES music (classical, jazz rock, punk, blues.. I love it all), and listens to Rory live and is not totally blown away would be a shock to me.

I doubt he gave it a second thought yet it certainly made his playing all the more astounding. Rory was a most remarkable musician, the likes of which I don't believe we shall ever see again. His profound love of The Blues, his ability to play it all to perfection and his unique affinity with his audiences are just a few of the many reasons I have loved this man's music for well over 40 years. RIP Rory.
