Ducks are such filthy animals, I find it so funny when people say turtles are dirty and will make you sick but don't have anything about people owning ducks (or *any other animal, really, everything poops!).
Anyway, what a beautiful pond! I had no idea those succulents were fake until you said it, I absolutely would've believed she just had a bunch of happy and healthy succulents! The ones in the waterfall are probably gonna get covered in algae, but that might still be pretty anyway. Awesome work :)

What a gorgeous build. You guys did great, and those faux plants actually look amazing. Most look extremely real, and tbh, I can't really tell what all is fake. Which brings me to ask, are all the plants such as the sucs, aloe and other fake? I've never seen such good looking faux plants, that big. I'll have to go back to listen in the video, but I believe I heard you say this was a turtle pond build? are the ducks going to be using it as well? If so, would having the filter be enough for the amount of waste they all produce? I ask this because I have a few separate ponds that aren't working out too well, and would like to just have one big one for my res turtles, and my goose. However, she gets her water so darn dirty, and although the turtles produce quite a bit of waste themselves, it's actually pretty easy to keep their pond nice and clean and clear. Would it be a bad idea to make a pond that they all can enjoy? Or should I just keep everything separate and keep the multiple smallish ponds? So sorry for the overload of questions and info.lol anyway, again. This was such a beautiful pond. And is a huge inspiration for me when I rebuild my turtles pond waterfall. Tfs!
Hello my friend! Some of the larger plants are real. Thank you for the kind words!!! I appreciate it a ton! So there will be a screen covering over the entire area so the ducks cannot get in when the turtles use it. The pond is primarily for the turts, the ducks just kinda are there but it’s not for them. I would consider doing two separate ponds, because as you know, ducks are CRAZY messy. You can make a pond for both, but you’d have to have some really really heavy filtration.
What type of turtles did she have? Awesome looking pond BTW. Good job!
All different kinds! Sliders, cooters, a single terrapin, I’ll make a video of them all at some point!

Are you in Florida? Muscovy ducks are considered invasive in Fl. Ducks can take a small puddle and make a huge mess. My voice of experience!

Hello Dan I've been looking for some information on Mata Mata Turtles requiring Basking areas and all the information online seems spotty at best, would you know anything about the requirements for a Basking areas or if it's even necessary? thank you
My best recommendation is essentially this; when in doubt, give them the choice.
So , you know you're supposed to put the expanding foam UNDER the liner right? It does break off with constant water and eater movement. Then small chunks will float into the pond. It is toxic. Then the turtles will try to eat it. Then...........
