So far it's framed as we took control of Melinoe shortly after she became old enough to begin her missions/became a young adult. For all we know she's exactly the age she looks (unlike many gods) which is probably younger than 20? On the other hand in the first game it was implied Zagreus has been around for at least a while. For a long time be believed Nyx was his actual mother. He had 2 failed relationships (with Maegara and Thanatos) and looking at how he's worried in the poly romance route about hurting them before telling them about each other, we can assume the previous relationships weren't simultaneous and I'd assume it would span at least a decent amount of time since they are gods and take a lot of things slow, also add to that Than and Meg are working a lot...etc. He also had a long standing reputarion as a troublemaker and everyone in the house seemed to know his antics like the back of their hand. Based on all that and some other stuff I'm too lazy to type out, I've always assumed Zag was older than he looked based on human years. If not centuries, than at least somewhere between 40 to 60? I'm saying human years because there is no denying he acts like an adolescent but since they are gods time and development might not be the same for them.
I'm guessing that Hades II is set twenty years in the future, giving Hades and Persephone to either change their mind or have an "unexpected." Part of the issue was they couldn't ask for help because the whole thing had to be a secret. Perhaps Apollo or Asclepius (Apollo's son and god of medicine) could be called in to ensure Melinoe wasn't stillborn.

Rather that Zeus took the form of Hades and seduced Persephone "mixt with Zeus Kronion (Cronion), arose, near where Kokytos' (Cocytus') mournful river flows; when, under Plouton's (Pluton's) [Haides'] semblance, Zeus divine deceived with guileful arts dark Phersephone (Persephone)." This is why Melinoe is depicted as being half white and dark, taking both Cthonic and Olympic blood.
Yeah Melinoë will probably not be the actual character from the mythology, just like Zagreus. That being said, they do nod to Zagreus' original myth where he is born and then turned into dyonysus (long story lol), so they might do something similar with Melinoë.

It's possible that we get a retcon of that, just the same way as Demeter being Hades' sister or Zagreus being a name of Dionysus are retconned in Hades 1... but yeahhh, seeing how Melinoe lasts longer on the surface than her brother and father, it's possible her ancestry is different
It's possible her connection with the moon would allow her some more access to those places. I gathered that "witch" was related to the moon/goddess. It would make sense for Melinoe to walk under it, if only at night.
Pretty sure the only reason Zagreus is the way he is is because technically he's undead. Nyx's Magic brought him back but now hes bound to the place. Mel was born and was likely kept alive by the Fates themselves as she was a child of prophecy meant to kill Chronos.
A lot of people who study those texts think that the hymn is referring to Hades. Apparently, the translation calls him dark Zeus and in other instances Hades is called Zeus of the underworld. At the time, saying Hades' name, or any cthonic god's name, was taboo. It supposedly would draw their attention, and having a god of the underworld paying attention to you was not considered a good thing.

Dis shares a root with the greek Dios/Zeus, which is also a way to refer to him as the Lord Below. It doesn’t pass by todays standards but in the cultural context and in comparison to other greek gods Hades is the greatest gentleman among them and his relationship with Persephone is easily the healthiest
