Can you please give the links or the names of the parts you used from Amazon or wherever you purchased the gearbox and motors and esc or speed controller on the version 3.4 build please. My grandfather used to have his own lawn care business after he retired from Atlanta fire dept but due to diabetes he has lost both legs and he can't cut the grass anymore. I'd love to build this for him and allow him to feel like he can do the same as he used to I can tell it really bothers him
this is the link to the motor and gear boxes i used. www.amazon.com/dp/B07YZGF885/ref=aod_recs_desktop_prsubs_0 the motor driver is PN00218-CYT14 Cytron Motor Driver 30Amp 7V-35V DC 2 Channel Tires/wheels are 8" non-marking red rubber tires from Harbour frieght, but only because they were cheap. Any 6-9" wheel and tire will... do with the right adapters for mounting them.
Awesome set up you have there! I have been trying to plan an RC mower build for quite some time now, I finally have a spare mower, a motor controller and most other parts but I am curious what you used for the motors and gearboxes? I did see some of the high torque motors on Amazon for around the price you mentioned but they don't look like the ones you have mounted there. Are the wheels chain driven from the motors?
On 2nd thought, listening to the whine of those motors... are those power wheels motors and gearboxes? I've considered chain or belt drive but never thought about using power wheels drive gears, genius.
hi brother! are you using it on a weekly basis? how is holding up? motors still working fine? any problems? or recommendations after using it for a while? thanks!
Yes, we are using it 1-2 times a week. with no part failures. we thought we broke a gear box while jumping the curb, but it's is just a a single tool on one sproket so we put it back together and we have continued to run it. I have personally flipped it 3 times and ran it full speed into just about everything in the yard. Still it keeps going. So much fun! I have added a simple and small amount of suspension to the front end which helped a lot to keep all 4 wheels on the ground and get it up the hills. knobby tires and tank tracks just tear up the grass, been there, tried that. We have another lawnmower, just like the one we used for all the testing, experimenting, and prototyping, but it has never been modified in any way. My plan is to take all the parts from the "Lawnmower v3.5" and build them into the unmodified deck, Thus creating the MOW-E!!! it's gonna be all clean and shiny, I can't wait. Expect the video for the MOW-E build to come out in September. First I have to finish editing a video about our new favorite sport "River Skurfing"!
I'm working on a similar project and just ordered some powerful 250W motors (4x250W = 1KW) with gearboxes and RC control, capable of transporting up to 400kg. I'll be using a 51cm electric lawn mower, which is super affordable without the battery. I'll be adding my own high-capacity batteries to power the whole system. Not sure how it'll turn out yet 😜 but if it works, I'll be making it fully autonomous!

Awesome RC lawn mower you've built.
Good day. What batteries do you have in it and how long do they last? The sensitivity of the equipment could be reduced to make it run smoother.

How did you atach the wheel drive to the metal hub of the wheel or did you have a ride on car for parts to begin with and use the wheel inserts

I would definitely put some knobbier tires on it for improved traction, but overall very sweet build
