The feel pours out of this man in such and effortless way.
Richard Pine I'm a guitar player and I have transcribed a few choruses of Mike Clark.
I love this guy forever
Ridiculous skills
Can play with anyone
Ridiculous swing
A master drummer
I could watch this stuff and his other stuff all day
I remember his days with the crazy fusion band Brand X. Was awesome.
What a legend!
To learn shuffle, you need to listen to this video by Mike Clark. You also need to listen to every groove Bernard Purdie ever played in his entire life. Then you need to listen to other modern interpreters such as Jeff Porcaro's classic Rosanna shuffle. Then... maybe, Grasshopper, you will finally understand.
What a great player AND great teacher you are!!
Legend!
I love this man.
Great lesson Mike, and your DW kit sounds great, and it's one of the best I've ever seen!
Great! Thank you!
Fantastic!
As a matter of fact...Mike Clark!
Far out❗️thank you ✌️🌻
Also,if you attempt to do any type of fills with shuffle grooves, they have to fit into the shuffle, lol.Usually these would be fills based on a triplet feel, broken up,or otherwise.
Great feel...Are the back beats rim shots?
Been playing bliues for 20 years. First rule no fills just shuffle
Oh YEAH!! 🙏
Yes!!!!!!
oh yeah
I would like to know which kind of shuffle Art Blakey is playing on « One by One ».
Thxs for your reply !🤗
Ah the shuffle, the simple groove that most drummers play completely wrong.
Wow! Pro drummer 100% ! With all the non sensible stuff out there today , here is the real cat!
Thx for the lesson!
Exactly what I was thinking. Not a self-proclaimed internet drummer.
The Clark is the Real Deal!
Hip
I had a guitar player say: "Dog track." and I played to what the guitar player was laying down, which was the flat tire shuffle. It worked, so that's how I know it as a Dog Track.
It’s Mr. Pocket himself

Ïf you go to Chicago and call a flat tire shuffle Texas shuffle, the Italian mafia will throw you with cement socks down the Illinois river"
