- In this Football Manager 2024 Experiment, we follow the story of a perfect player who we have trapped in Portugal Championship, which is Portugals 4th tier, for 30 years. He can escape, by winning promotions. How high can he climb?

so i am portuguese and i will explain our league system so we hace the campeonato nacianal witch is the 4th portuguese division where there are 4 groups each with 16 teams the last 5 teams in each group get relagated to the regional divisions. the top 2 teams in each group go to the promotion playoffs. there are 2 groups with 4 teams each in the promotion playoff groups.the top 2 teams in each group get promoted to the liga 3 with is the 3rd division. but the 1st placing team in each group gets to play a game that determines the 4th division winnner the team who wins. wins the 4th division. the now i will explain the third division there are 2 groups that each have 10 teams the top 4 teams in each group go to the promotion playoffs and the rest go to the relagation playoffs
in the promotion playoffs there is only 1 group with the 8 teams the top 2 teams get automatically promoted to the 2nd division and play a title wining game to decide the winner of the 3rd division the team that wins. wins the 3rd division the third placed team will play a playoff between the 16th placed team in the second division if the 3rd placed team wins they get promoted and the 16th placed team get relagated if the 16th placed team wins they remain in the second division and the 3rd placed team remains in the third division. in the relagation playoffs there are 2 groups each with 6 teams the last 2 teams in each group get relagated to the 4th division the second division is a league format with 18 teams the last 2 teams get automatically relagated to the third division the 16th placed team plays that playoff i mentioned earlier the first 2 teams get automaticaly promoted to the first division and the 3rd team plays a playoff against the 16th placed team in the first division if the 16th placed team wins they remain in the first division and the 3rd placed team remains in the second division and if the 3rd placed team wins they get promoted and the 16th placed team gets relagated. in the first division there are 18 teams the last 2 tams get automaticly relagated to the second division and the 16th placed team plays that playoff i mentioned earlier

I did this on the last FM. It was very interesting but I don't think I froze attributes... maybe I might revisit and do that this time
Can you do a fully pacific islands/oceania wonderkid video? The main countries being New Zealand, Fiji and Vanuatu, with the other 2 being the minnows of American Samoa and Tonga

Have you considered doing another retro database save again and in regards to current experiments, I think you'd honestly love the J League if you want an even crazier lower league system than what we saw with this one or potentially a Gibraltar vs San Marino sim? As always love the vids!
I have, idlike to but sadly I am behind with my Leeds save. Struggling to keep up with playing as being a new parent takes a lot of time up and I am playing the game a lot less than I'd like.
Love the content, but the lack of background music was something very nice and refreshing - to consider! Video ideas are top notch as always though 👌

Great video as always lad. Gotta agree with other commenters on the music though. It was a bit too loud, and a bit too fast paced for your video style. You’d be better off, if you did decide to stick to using music, to use something much slower, something Lo-Fi maybe. Or stick to no music, works for your style of video!
Thanks for the feedback. One criticism I have received over recent months is no music, so I tried something. Great to get feedback though, as I am trying something to evolve the videos. Appreciate it

I may tweak the format and do some smaller nations in a kind of versus as I am not sure they'd succeed in Europe. Appreciate the comment and taken Finland as a suggestion on board 👍

Interesting experiment. Great to see the team do well AFTER the Perfect Player retires, which means the club's management did well in building the overall foundation. Maybe Man United's executives need tp play Football Manager to LEARN how to run a club!!! Changing managers every year definitely isn't the solution!!!
Not sure if you can do this, but rather than "creating a player", what would happen if you changed the structure of football? Could you do an experiment in which every player, over the age 21, is a Free Agent every season? All the highest level for all European teams has this restriction.
Age 21 because you still want clubs to develop players, but once they are developed - EVERYONE IS A FREE AGENT, EVERY SEASON! How successful with Man City be is they have to build a new roster every season. Players cannot renew their contracts/resign with the same team.
Imaging the transfer windows, especially the summer transfer window - every player over age 21 can only have a ONE YEAR CONTRACT, and cannot be signed by the current team.
To make it even more interesting, implement a LEAGUE-WIDE salary cap, for all top flight leagues!!! Thus Man City, Chelsea, Barca, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern, etc., cannot outspend everyone else.
Would be a great test to see if more teams are involved in the Champions League, each season, rather than the same teams each year. Can Bournemouth or Luton win the Premier League when they have the same budget as Man City - and players are released from their contracts at the end of EACH season. Can Clermont or Le Havre unseat PSG? Can Bochum or Cologne unseat Bayern? Can Almeira or Granada win La Liga? Can anybody unseat Celtic or Rangers?
Oh, and as League/Team Reputation may influence where players sign, make every league and every team have IDENTIAL reputations. Hopefully this will allow players like Erling Haaland end up on Miedź Legnica or Killian Mbappe signs with FC CSKA 1948 Sofia.
This is an AMAZING idea. I love it, however it is something that would require an enormous amount of finesse and knowledge to create, sadly I possess neither 🤣

Despite being impressive, it’s not the record! The current record is 91 from Porto in 2021/22, although if Sporting wins every single game until the end (6 games left, and they have won 14 out of the last 15 so not impossible), they will surpass that, with 92.
