- After smashing it in the U23 category, Grant Ferguson has recently stepped up to Elite level and hasn't looked back! Rarely finishing outside of the top 20, Ferguson is one of the UK's leading XC riders and Olympians. He does it all on board this American Eagle under the guidance of owner and team manager Bart Brentjens, the first ever Olympic Mountain Bike Champion at the 1996 Atlanta games. This has become the namesake of the boutique brand's only production frame and lends it's heritage to the hardtail with a modern carbon fiber twist.

15 years I thougth this Bike "American Eagle" has gone south. Great video!
Would like to see any pro xc rider at you playing the B.I.K.E. game! Thanks gmbn!
Where is the "hub" test what you talked about in dirt shed show :D
I was just about to put that lol
They probably filmed this before the dirt sheet show.
Kóbor Tamás that was actually me suggesting it lol
More XC Stuff please. GMBN ROCKS!!!!
Daily uploads for the win!!
#gmbngang
Spin dem hubs!
Thought somebody pro was actually still riding Manitou when I first saw the fork!
Not all DT Swiss wheels are center lock
This fork looks amazing can i buy it or is it for him only ?
Dear @gmbn team, can you make a video of comparison for shimano and sram? Which is better? What is the pros and cons?
Super nice
Cool that not another similar XC WC bike, some variation. Is it the same Yana rides?
Can you make a Video about the Dt Swiss fork?
i was wondering the same thing... coundnt find the gold
I think u have to win something first..
What happened to the hub test?
Where was the hub check!?!?!?!?!? =O
hey gmbn
I will have my first race next weekend, do you have any tipps what I should carry with me?
How many innertubes should I take with me wehn I ride with tubes?
Thanks for evry answer Freeride Production
Freeride Production I race mt bikes and to races I bring 2 tire levers ,one tube and a pump
Is the pedals inverted?
whats wrong with a fork the correct way around?
Lot people hung up on the weight , Grant @ 6 time British champion shows Talent & power wins
Don't kid yourself , if most of us trained all our life and cycled a 5kg bike you would still not even get close
What was that chainguide? Looked trick!
Hub test?
I have a giant fathom 2 2018 and I have those pedals that you have to put your feet inside the things, should I replace the pedals for mountain bike pedals
Yes
ben green thank you, what Type should I get
AMERICAN EAGLE! Made in China. With Holland paint scheme.
Ridden by UK rider.
Corection: the orange color scheme is based on the President of the US.
Opencycle - made in China too .
95% of bike's frames are made in Far East...
doesnt the exploitation of foreign labor make this a true american bike anyways?
when is the fizik draw being done
A question for you guys. Can an angle such as that for hydraulic brake levers make them get all messy because of air getting inside them?
malicalik 13 yeah that's why I run my levers pointed straight up so they don't get messy with air.
SchmeddyBallz thanks for the response, but I would like to kindly warn you about ergonomics. You can bleed your brakes ever now and then so maybe you should worry about the wrists
How many times can Doddy say "element of comfort"?
hub?
10,1 kg, is very heavy compare to other hardtail
i was wondering the same. race bikes 10 years ago have been way lighter.
vince What s a normal weight?
Der Übermensch, i'm not a pro but my hardtail is 10kg,when you see other hardtail like Bmc and scoot have bike under 8kg, maybe for a pro is heavy 10kg
Haha, all these pro bikes make mine a heavy mofo at 11.5kgs.
vince It's Scott, not Scoot.
You forget the sound of the hubs
Thumbs Up!
#askgmbn
I broke my bike almost two months ago.
It's a 2012 UMF Freddy 2D. I know it's a pretty heavy bike, so I thought that it would be better to buy another one than trying to repair it. I'm looking forward to buying a top-of-the-range enduro 29er with a carbon frame and top-spec components. I know it'll take a while until I have the money.
Do you have any suggestion as to how not to lose my mind without anything to ride on? :D
*Disappointingly, most of my biker friends cut ties with me when I asked to borrow their bikes - I guess that's another lesson.
No way this bike is 10,1 kg, must be way lighter! Loving the dude's Fila track-suit though :D
C'mon doddy what about the freehub?!
It's not possible bike with carbon frame and carbon bars, seatpost, xx1 and xrc1200 wheels weighs 10.1kg, it must be at least 1kg lighter
haven bar/stem, ardent/minion and a dropper more like 11.5.. haha , ... enve mtb fork back down to 10.6 ... see where i'm going with this .. 10.1kg sounds about right (frankenbikes rule)
Well, i have a almost stock s-works epic and it weighs 10,1kgs, and when fs weighs same than hardtail, then i dont see any point riding ht, especially at world cup level. And for comparison, scott scale rc 900 weighs 8,6kg and it has heavier brakes and 12-speed eagle
2kg frame weight??
Of course for the training aspect and having fun point of view it's great, damn i even ride my 14kg fatbike for fun, but for racing you aim for the fastest equipment
When i tested a American Eagle they told me i was 8,4k for this setup
Yay. Another vote for no dropper. I'm surprised to see no I9's on any race bikes.
Wow
Oh come on! How long exactly the bar is? 675 or 765? The video says it's 675!
how is it possible to make a race xc bike more than 10 kg nowadays? the weight doesnt even add up. does the frame weigh like 3 kg?
what happened to scott?
How can this bike be that heavy when it's full carbon?
Skills with Phil bike check plz
can I wear a bmx helmet on downhill trials
Hi guys
Hi Edward
11cm stem, welcome back to the 90s!
Show Yana Belomoina bike
His sponsors wont provide a 12 speed set up or a dropper post
is it just me who really doesn't like the fact that the lower fork crown is facing backwards?
Please hub spin next time
Reading these comments makes you realise how people have become obsessed with light bikes and looks over functionality, some people apparently have lighter better bikes in there sheds, but none of them ride for Britain 🇬🇧, here's the lesson: the rider is what counts
That moment when you British but you literally ride a bike brand called AMERICAN EAGLE
Backwards fork?!
You kinda seem stupid with a comment like that.
I don't know how to reply to you. At first glance, it DOES look backwards. You call me stupid for "not" knowing something, and effectively put yourself above me by calling me stupid.
NeOn aking questions is how we lern assuming things is what makes us stupid!
Good one! Very true.
American eagle without sram eagle? :(
Hahaha ya wtf
What happens when the backwards mounted fork brace is jammed into the frame?
Pat's Place Shut up and use your brain.
American eagle like the brand of underwear
10.1 kg is well heavy for a hard tail
Fifth
Anybody else want to comment something but doesn't have anything to say??
Nope
Umm, nope nothing
Yeah.
Not first
10.1 kg is heavy .
29th
No boost hub weird need a chain guide weird no oval front chainring weird....
Not very impressive, my 2015 xtc advanced 2 is lighter...ztr crests ftw
China bike
Gold forks, orange frame and fluorescent calipers, vomit inducing combination.
Non-eagle drivetrain ... because of sponsorship. That means if you don't have to run eagle you run 11 speed xx1 because the 12 speed is just marketing bull crap
Americam eagle team is quite cheap they can't even give him an eagle groupset
First Comment
Put it this way compared to other pro bikes it isn't a very nice bike. But that's just my opinion.
George Bolland Yeah man, its so fucking heavy for a hardtail. Nino's spark is the same weight as this thing...
Hub test?
