    awesome bike and presentation.. about the 38t chainring, is it because the track there doesn't have any brutal climbs, or is he in fact a powerhouse beast of a rider, pushing that gearing in all races of the calendar?

    Hey Doddy, what's the technical reason XC racers would choose no gloves? How sweaty/bunched up they could get with the effort they are doing?

  • @zeusdreadbeard8990
    @zeusdreadbeard8990 6 лет назад +1

    Yeah i like that. I really like that. I honestly think that gearing is much more sensible than eagle. 50t cog in a race seems mental? I het they never use them. Just extra weight

    • @fraserdavidson6900
      @fraserdavidson6900 6 лет назад

      zeus dreadbeard the 50 tooth cog lets them run a bigger chain ring and still get the same climbing gear, without sacrificing the high range of gears like a 32 tooth chain ring does. My 11x with a 42 tooth cassette and 32 tooth chain ring has a nearly identical ratio as a 50 tooth cassette and 38 tooth chain ring.

    I’ve always loved the look of the lefty. I’m interested to know how this new one compares with regular forks. If it is actually better, it would be a shame if everyone doesn’t have it available to them as an option.
    And I wonder why we haven’t seen a kind of single sided swing arm on bikes. Or at least I don’t think I’ve seen one.

  • @kubagajda7347
    @kubagajda7347 6 лет назад +3

    It's a shame they didn't manage to produce new scalpel along to the new FSi. Ocho has now a tapered steerer and here they've just put a headset reducer on a 2y.o. frame...

    • @kubagajda7347
      @kubagajda7347 6 лет назад +2

      While the FSi has been redesigned and is completely new for the 2019, form what I can see the Scalpel remained unchanged - just take a look at the steerer tube - it's so wide at the top. It's because previous Lefty had 1,5' straight steerer and bearings were so big - here on the video, with the new lefty, there're some reducers put there to accomodate 1 1/8 steerer. Rest of the frame also looks unchanged - the linkage, overall shape... Maybe Cannondale did't have time to develop a new frame or this one is here just for the time being, since riders have to have full-sus anyway and new Lefty just came in so it's been put on there to give'em "the latest and gratest"

    Must be a weight penalty to make a car-like hub? Maybe an e-mtb will go full hub. Otherwise I don't see too much "trick" stuff in your racers - mostly off-the-shelf.

    It's just another carbon cookie cutter drop link bike. Pedaling dynamics and engineering stress/stiffness wise the drop link is the worst way to go. The only advantage of the drop full suspension design is it is easy to manufacter.

    Nice looking bike but poor quality control or poor transport.Rear wheel has major issues right out of the box. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Rear axle is bent! Derailleur is misaligned.Since the rear wheel comes assembled I would have expected better.Assembly instructions poorly written, but that was not unexpected...just annoying.I just had the bike checked at a shop and was told that I should contact the seller about getting a whole rear wheel assembly with cartridge. (The bike shop could not do anything to help me).Not a good experience with this bike, so lesson learned.Added 3 stars for excellent customer serviceUpdate Sept 8 2020Just received a complete replacement wheel for free. Great service and an otherwise fine bike.
