What's your favourite part of the bike? We love that Lefty!
GMBN Tech that paint job is dialed, I can’t get past that
The front caliper pinch bolt mechanism, dead simple yet effective!
Reminds me of Magura's HS series.
GMBN Tech the frame of corse :D
The frame itself. Such a beauty!
The frame .. Too good.. The paint job..
38-42 climbing gear is beast mode for a course like Nove Mesto, wow!!!
Someday i am gonna own one like that :)
Currently on trek topfuel 9.8sl..... but the cannondale sure was on the shortlist for along time...
Cannondale makes some incredible bikes, fast, and agile..
Hi, you should do a review on the Tempie's bike " Bianchi" the guy has a 36 chain ring front with 11-38 Cassette i guess.
That's one good looking bike.
Could you guys please do a look over of the new Santa Cruz Blur?
That lefty cut away to show the function of the fork... So cool. Did they let you snag one for the tech shed Doddy?
I just put a 34t chain ring on my xc bike getting ready to change to eagle. However I rode it with my 11-42 and I was soo fast! I might keep it haha
awesome bike and presentation.. about the 38t chainring, is it because the track there doesn't have any brutal climbs, or is he in fact a powerhouse beast of a rider, pushing that gearing in all races of the calendar?
Scalpel si!! My baby!!!!
Awesome!! Best Bike!
I am sorry i’ve listened to the video again and you mentioned the rear hub type...it’s a dt swiss 240...but what about the ratchet? 36teeth or 54?
Running a thunder burt back and front? Crazy stuff
Doodley doodley dooo
I wanna touch that bike!
I wanna ride that bike, it's incredible!
Finally ... HUB SOUNDS!!!
'Ocko?' Really?
seriously, right?
for real dude i know
It genuinely trigger me
is it still 142x12 rear end?
Can I adjust front suspension?
What kind of riding is thia meant for? Can it handle jumps? I have one a few years old and I dont want to like.. break it.
The carbon front fork looks expensive
Hi there! Do you remember what was the rear hub? Thank you i enjoy watching your videos you are a good mechanic i am sure! Greetings from Center of Italy, Alessandro Colombo
Stunning, like Maxim's french tricolor scheme better though ;)
Could stages make that computer any bigger? Not sure he'll be able to read the screen.
Is that an Extralite stem?
Hey Doddy, what's the technical reason XC racers would choose no gloves? How sweaty/bunched up they could get with the effort they are doing?
better feel
Yeah i like that. I really like that. I honestly think that gearing is much more sensible than eagle. 50t cog in a race seems mental? I het they never use them. Just extra weight
zeus dreadbeard the 50 tooth cog lets them run a bigger chain ring and still get the same climbing gear, without sacrificing the high range of gears like a 32 tooth chain ring does. My 11x with a 42 tooth cassette and 32 tooth chain ring has a nearly identical ratio as a 50 tooth cassette and 38 tooth chain ring.
I’ve always loved the look of the lefty. I’m interested to know how this new one compares with regular forks. If it is actually better, it would be a shame if everyone doesn’t have it available to them as an option.
And I wonder why we haven’t seen a kind of single sided swing arm on bikes. Or at least I don’t think I’ve seen one.
how are you going to mount your brakes/ derailleur? haha
No mention frame needs a custom top steering bearing setup. The frame is designed for the older fork.
Yep, sorry for late reply but its the same kit to use a fox fork
does he pronounce "cheese" as "keys" ? Ocho as in spanish for 8, not occo
It's a shame they didn't manage to produce new scalpel along to the new FSi. Ocho has now a tapered steerer and here they've just put a headset reducer on a 2y.o. frame...
While the FSi has been redesigned and is completely new for the 2019, form what I can see the Scalpel remained unchanged - just take a look at the steerer tube - it's so wide at the top. It's because previous Lefty had 1,5' straight steerer and bearings were so big - here on the video, with the new lefty, there're some reducers put there to accomodate 1 1/8 steerer. Rest of the frame also looks unchanged - the linkage, overall shape... Maybe Cannondale did't have time to develop a new frame or this one is here just for the time being, since riders have to have full-sus anyway and new Lefty just came in so it's been put on there to give'em "the latest and gratest"
Love it,
I think those world cup riders are getting sponsored by SRAM, not jumping over just to have 12 speed with 10-50... :) But now the new XTR is out...
Bike's a Weapon....XTR DI2 would be nice...!
Top bike
There is no cap under the stem so it is easier to grease it.🤫👌😉👍
The whole 'slammed' thing cracks me up. The bars are still level with the seat , it's the roadie in me coming out 😅
Doddy, I love ya man, but please learn how to pronounce Ocho (oh-ch-oh). It's Spanish for 8....
I want to buy a bike like this! Just a bike used! Show me? Thanks so much!
weight?
size ?
Cannondale bike without Cannondale crank :-o. Is this that bad?
And about the fox rear shock!? Personal fumic's preference or Cannondale's new sponsor?
Victor Moura because new ocho has fox mechanical remote .
Do you sell your bike?
The bike and the fork is awesome, but, for improving your spanish, as ocho is a spanish word, the ch is pronounced like chain. See you Doddy.
pau peris marti
Also Fumic is pronounce like chain.
Old Scalpel 1.5/1.5 headset frame with new 1.5/1-1/8 tapered lefty8.
And that's what a $12,000+ USD bike looks like.
thechosendude Here in Brazil, this bike would probably cost around $21,200 USD. It is no easy. 😭
The Stem is SLAMMED but is in line with the SADDLE !!!!
so he is up riding position !!!!!!
grip on bidon holder - buy specialized zee cage ii , best bidon holder
my 2018 xc hardtail weighs the same? tf
Yea man carbon everything saves weight, even my aluminum scalpel si is roughly ssme weight
Shame they can't make the lefty front disc "Milliard" style and leave the brake rotor fitted to the stub axle not the hub
Must be a weight penalty to make a car-like hub? Maybe an e-mtb will go full hub. Otherwise I don't see too much "trick" stuff in your racers - mostly off-the-shelf.
I'd ride that...
Daddy, do you ever get to throw ya leg over and give these bikes a quick blast?
Lol just released new XTR groupset😂
👍💗💗💗💗
The disappointment when Doddy spun the rear wheel...
Wassup
We all are here to look at $10,000+ bikes, and yet I’m here with my $500 entry hardtail from Trek
for real dude it is NOT ocko its ocho like the spanish word for 8 and its named that way bc its the 8th ver of the lefty
new shimano xtr freehub sound is non existing
Hey Doddy I know you're English and all but seriously fam, it's lefty ocho, that's o' ch' oh. Not okko. Wtf dude?
🤣いいから!走ってみー
but the real question is...... can Manuel.....Manual :D :P
"ocko"
My fully rigid, 20", brakeless, singlespeed bmx weighs more than that..
DINO IDEAS it's probably made of Cromoly. If it was a carbon race BMX, It would weigh a lot less.
My Fit Augie weighs About 25.5 pounds.
Ocho its pronounced "otsho", not "occo"
yes, but in english pronounciation, c and h make a 'kkhhh' sound. like the restaurant 'oCHio'.... or 'sCHool'.
Exactly even Cannondale say Otsho as pronounciation
Not Oh-Cho?
Wilian Amaral it's pronounced "Hu feken kairs"
Isn’t it the eighth generation lefty
Seventh
First?lel
It's just another carbon cookie cutter drop link bike. Pedaling dynamics and engineering stress/stiffness wise the drop link is the worst way to go. The only advantage of the drop full suspension design is it is easy to manufacter.
dude, its OCHO ( OSCHO) NOT OKO! FFS!
It’s oCHo, not oCKo,
6th
Pronunciation didn't age well in this video :)))
Nice looking bike but poor quality control or poor transport.Rear wheel has major issues right out of the box. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Rear axle is bent! Derailleur is misaligned.Since the rear wheel comes assembled I would have expected better.Assembly instructions poorly written, but that was not unexpected...just annoying.I just had the bike checked at a shop and was told that I should contact the seller about getting a whole rear wheel assembly with cartridge. (The bike shop could not do anything to help me).Not a good experience with this bike, so lesson learned.Added 3 stars for excellent customer serviceUpdate Sept 8 2020Just received a complete replacement wheel for free. Great service and an otherwise fine bike.
Nice Bike, wrong paintjob 😂 just kidding.
Cannondale customer service and warranty suck It should be cramping Dale.
this shouldn't be called a fork
Do you sell your bike?
