A few things - Check tire pressure and tire thread, be sure to clean the under deck especially before if you store it for the winter to help prevent rust, lightly lube the choke/throttle cables and other moving parts, check the idler pulleys for bad bearings, check for loose bolts, check the battery and battery connections, be sure the motor air ways are clear to prevent over heating, If it has Hydro gears or rear case check or change with the correct fluid, check the brakes, verify all safety devices work such as the mower blade stops if the driver leaves the seat,...
