Those craftsmans aren’t bad mowers at all. I don’t know why some people say that they aren’t, but I don’t mind them. I’m not too crazy about the new stuff from them, but their old stuff has proven to be solid. Great video by the way!
If anyone has any issues with cutting their grass level with these. Replace the floating deck leveling hanger (grass chute side) with the same exact adjusting hanger on the left side. It works good and my grass cuts way better now.
I love the YT4000! I just sold my 2013 with 250 hours, and it looked brand new once I cleaned it up. I kept my 2011 YT4000, which just went over 1000 hrs other day. It still runs like a champ! Doesn't burn a drop of oil. Those 24Hp Platinum's are really good motors. Cant say the same for the 21hp though. Seems like those are always breaking. I also picked up a 2006 Craftsman FS5500 few days ago with only 12.7 hours on it. I scored on that deal. Its got the 24hp B&S as well.
19_MOORE_ 86....I am curious: why did you sell the one that had fewer hours...I'm assuming there something not quite right about it? I bought my YT4000 new in about 2013 also and I have a little over 300 hrs on it and it has run great for me. Yep, I keep the oil & oil filter changed about every other Summer, clean air filter after every mow, new in line gas filter recently, plugs, replace belt that spins the blades when needed, etc....the standard maintenance stuff. I have never had any carburetor problems like some people seem to have. But over the years, I have stripped the bottom spindle star pattern a few times when I didn't have the blade tightened down properly onto the star pattern and have had to replace a few spindles...my fault. It was from not having a lift like in this video. I now use my next door neighbor's lift when I do my blades.
@@marbleman52 no, there was nothing wrong with it at all. I just got a really good deal on it and made a good profit. Tripled my money on it! I originally bought it to flip, so that's what I ended up doing.
I have a yt3000 bought it brand new ten years ago….. and I have the Briggs 21 horse platinum motor and never issue. The only thing I had to replace was an ignition coil this past may…
I have a 24hp yt4000 and to me the engine sounds dry as if it’s not getting oil. It seems much louder than it was when new. The oil level is fine and I put in a new oem oil filter a couple years ago. Oil isn’t too dark and level is fine. Anyway to find out if the oil isn’t flowing correctly? Approx 380 hours. Original owner.
You put a screw driver in the spark plug hole and turn the flywheel till screw driver is almost all the way out then flywheel 1/8 of a turn clockwise then both valves are loose to check gap and adjust valve Then do same thing to other side as well
Thanks for your reply and the information. Have a good day.

If has a 9 same tractor as Husqvarna . Made by Husqvarna . I had Arians Tractor paid 35 hundred . I take my YT4000 over it.

Could you tell me what size deck belt you use for your 2011?
Look like a nice mower
Even ones with zerk fittings have sealed bearings that stops any new grease from entering anyway.
Very helpful thanks
Good job!

Hi love your videos!!! I like some of the Craftsman riding mowers I got a Craftsman 8hp chain drive 4 speed 30" but my starter is bad though.
How do you find top dead center to adjust the valves?
Wich is a better tractor the yt4000 with brings & Stratton engine or the cub cadet xt1 with kohler 7000 series engine? Thanks
She definitely is in need of new tires on the front also need to clean the mower deck
You were I can get the paint to match Red body ? My choke does not work . Do you know how to fix that?
😊👍
Where is the oil filter?
This video has serious steady static, makes it hard to hear. How do you find top dead center to adjust the valves both intake and exhaust.

Then do same thing to other side as well
Did you remember to attach the fuel pump back up
false info, the torx is the lock the hex is the adjuster
I'd rebuild the carburetor seeing as how carbon fouled those plugs were. She's running too rich and a little too hot.
well the blades of that mower will be dull before the first lawn is mowed. Thats a GRINDER not a sharpener. Holy heat ya putting into that edge.
How about the rear end?
I think she needs some new tires. Lol
Sorry sir all the bird noise is really annoying.Ill watch another one.
the other side WASN'T holding. liar liar pants on fire!
