Preservation MC is actually so good. Dehya could have been that if she was actually a good tank damage character. I hope we get more healers, because we only have two abundance characters, especially since healers are so important to not get k'od constantly.
This is what I thought as well. Imagine if she could taunt the enemies to attack her and gain stacks that would make her ult hit harder. Pretty sad how things turned out how they treated her.

March 7th does a good amount of chip damage +/- breaking as long as you're applying shields, and freeze is a nice disable. She's very handy in the available content for the most part.
March and Nat are definitely great for cleanse. Tingyun is just a broken unit. Asta isn't for all teams though, some teams don't need speed buffs like Clara. Pela is excellent for how much her kit provides in support. Don't know how important those last two really are. You can definitely live without them.

In some early content, Sushang + Seele are the best possible thing to have. What I'm worried about is that Ice that is everywhere (the weakness) and only Herta is F2P and deals decent damage but... it's pretty terrible.
Herta isnt that bad honestly, give her the light cone that increases followup attack damage. I used her to clear the first 3 simulated universes. And the game gives you her eidolons for clearing said simulated universes so you literally only invest in the exp to level her and the light cone. Stopped using her at lvl 50 tho
Currently using : Seele, march 7th, fire MC, and Natasha I don't even need natasha here at all march and mc just tank everything for now I am thinking putting tingyun there

Bailu is still better, bailu ult gives passive healing as well as burst healing, meaning with bailu u essentially will never need to use skill, so a perfect skill point battery. Also her passive heals an insane amount, making it so u can run triple offense instead of 2 and 2. And ofc there’s the revive

Natasha can't do much if she literally has nothing to cleanse, and most of the time, debuffs/etc. are manageable. Point being, you'll need heals more than cleansing for a ton of battles. It stands that she's outclassed by Bailu in terms of utility.

Kafka battle is an excellent example for this, critical Hp loss is more /less manageable by preservation character while debuff can't. Personally not a fan of Asta. Asta's atk buff is weak in single target fights, and in multi-target fights (unless you have E2 and lots of ER) she is skill point hungry if you try to maintain her atk buff. Her shield braking is random except in single target, and her damage is meh. Building around her fire dmg increase reduces element diversity. Her spd buff might be useful late game, but right now it makes no noticeable difference. Not worth a team slot over either of the other harmony characters, Pela, Welt, or another dps.
Oof I'm late but - Natasha: I haven't built her and don't plan on doing so in the future. Clara, Bronya, and March all help with removing debuffs so ... why heal when you can kill the enemies faster? Trailblazer: Decent otherwise, but I'd rather Clara be attacked and not him, so his taunt is counterintuitive. Gepard is on my second team for tank. March 7th: Actually my most used 4* - synergizes so nicely with Clara, got me through SU world 6 with no issues. Asta: ... I kind of forgot she existed ... seems highly underwhelming but I guess she has her uses. Pela: A great artist! And that's about it. Sushang: Got way too many copies of her so I guess I have to build her now *sigh* Not really looking forward to it but at least she can take Clara's rejected relics.

I’m a big spender on Genshin but I started playing Star Rail because I wanted to try to be as F2P as possible so I can have a different perspective on everything and I think it would be fun. I’ve been playing for 3 days now. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to listen to my current list of characters and help pick out a team comp that seems decent.
Natasha is great but Bailu heals a lot better imho lol I would definitely use Natasha in debuff scenarios but it depends on the debuff. Like the World 5 boss has some serious bs going on so probably them, but a lot of other bosses i'd just deal with the meh debuff and get massive healing.
I was so mad when I got Bailu from the seele banner when I have natasha at lv.50 already😭😭😭. Now I won't have enough summons for seele💀(my natasha is E5 as well)
i built Dan Heng and he can do about 5k damage with his ult at lvl 50... My Seele's also good but I got Janqing recently and i dont know how to build him.
Use a preservation unit like fire trailblazer to aggro away from yanqing so that his skill passive will hv good uptime. Gepard will be the best in slot if u have him instead of trailblazer. For artifacts use 4p ice dmg set or 2p ice dmg set and 2p musketeer. Focus crit dmg and about 20% crit rate and atk.
Fire trailblazer is kinda bad. Costing 1sp every turn, with lackluster dmg and break, the only thing it has is high dmg reduction and tankiness. But the taunt is terrible when the enemy has aoe attacks. The only situation I have found him useful in is for SU world 5's boss, where the rng targeting bind only targets him and keeps bailu out of bind, where his low basic atk dmg does nothing when he attacks you. All bosses have their main dmg be an aoe ability, so it doesnt help against that.
I wouldn't say so, in HSR, you can't dodge like in Genshin so you will inevitably take damage and Bailu's healing is great and can even revive one of your characters in a battle. She brings a lot of value in terms of healing so if your debuff isn't too bad, then maybe Bailu would be the better choice. That being said, this is from what I have heard because I haven't obtained her... ;-;
healing is a lot more valuable in turn based games... also her revive is pretty nifty ngl i do think she will be powercrept tho. obviously limited 5* characters are most the time stronger than standard ones, so theres gonna be healers that do more than just heals.
it be nice to see suggested light cones for each character.
What I love about this game is that it forces you to work on multiple characters because enemy's have different weakness ❤

My personal comp is bronya with serval hyper. Serval shock procs gives me enough dps to actually disregard enemy shields

Yanqing was my first 5 star. He deals 2k skill and 4k ult at lvl 40 he is so fun to play
Yanqing is actually much better than Dan, you should build him, close to seele in dmg
