- As has become customary I spent the last remaining seconds before a new biome dropped speedrunning the old paradigm. Watch as I slash 40 minutes from the previous 6-boss record!
Most of what I post is for my subs but I really enjoy it when lots of folks see the world records, so 'likes,' comments, and watchtime are all much appreciated on this one!

Can’t wait to watch this one! I couldn’t help but chuckle at the intro part “just under 9 hours which doesn’t seem fast” meanwhile after 9 hours I’ve made some bronze and gotten killed in the swamp 10 times 😂
Really incredible run - I teased in your livestream about your rng and it WAS amazing at times, but I really have to say that what some people might call cheats (all legal) are really just another amazing use of your skills and they take crazy talent too. Not only are you a legend at this game, you are quick-thinking and so smart-your ability to think on the fly and problem-solve as you go makes this (I would guess) so much harder than just running fast. And it bears repeating; to hear your thought process as you go is gold. Such a crazy run, and what a perfect ending to the pre-Ashlands era. Congratulations Thread! Looking forward to what you can do with another biome. Can't wait!

The queen de aggros if she can't reach the player. Every time he got her attention and ran straight for the door, he was effectively undoing getting her attention. It was in the patch notes in one of the updates months ago

Basically learned how to play this game thanks to your videos amd I just beat the queen for the 1st time a week ago so thanks for that! Excited for the content once ashlands comes out!

I've only barely started playing this game but I already have learned so much from this video. I am only an hour into the speedrun and you are already past what has taken me like 10+ hours to get to LOL! I am definitely going to try some of these methods at least to speed up early game. Cheers

I am so pumped that you pulled this off! I had no idea you were still running this category because it takes so long to complete (the legit baller category, keep it real).
Dunno if I can even say I've been 'still' running it: started hitting it hard like a week ago after a 10-month hiatus but I think I benefitted a lot from Trial of Tyr and subsequent hardcore% runs. But hell yeah dude, I remember being super stoked about like 12 & 13 hour completions. Took me a second to get back in the swing of logging out and abusing corpse run and stuff, but I got there. I'm glad there are people out there stoked on this category, because I really enjoy it too. Lots of what people call cheese is really just another axis to apply skill. Thanks dude!

I’m at 02:32 so far and I’m blown away. We run a small channel and do a lot of Valheim content, but after two hours I’ve already learned so many cool things just watching you.
Just curious, when you do these speed runs do you always go Moder first or is it more of a situation where you pick Bonemass or Moder depending on how the playthrough is going?
Like if those swamps had been loaded with sunken crypts and you found a vegvisir, would you have possibly gone after Bonemass first?

Hey! Thanks for the kind words! Even if I'm at the bonemass altar I usually try to delay the fight as long as possible for a few reasons: Killing him opens up the 'you are being hunted' raid, which can strike anywhere, we skip silver so the wishbone doesn't do anything, we stick with the eikthyr power regardless (maybe ashlands will change this?), and we grow more powerful as the run goes on so the fight will just be easier later. I prefer to drop a portal there at return at my convenience, sometimes hours after I find him.
Moder, on the other hand, is a hard requirement for progression, so we want her out of the picture ASAP
@@ThreadMenace I didn’t even think about the hunted raid. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since you are setting world records, but that’s all so logical.
I won’t give spoilers for Ashlands but yes Eikthyr may not be as beneficial once you hit the world of lava. We have spent a good amount of time in the public test and she is nasty. 🔥

Great run! I haven't seen Yag beaten using eitr before - I wish I wasn't so emotionally dependent on the wisplight so I could try it myself. I shall now patiently wait for the Ashlands speedruns.
I wasn't sure they ashlands runs would be a thing but I'm getting some promising results so far. :D

I did Elder at 200, bonemass at 300 and moder at day 400. Didnt fight yag till day 650 or something because i didnt want fulings in the meadows😂.

Hey Thread - Can you summarize your general strat per biome/boss in pinned comment or summary? Lots to watch so would love your general plan.
Do you stream your runs on youtube or twitch or just like to keep it quiet?
I've only ever done a couple speedrun streams (all RUclips). Vast majority I just record locally. Streaming is tons of fun but I am able to focus better when I'm not also trying to read the whole time. Congratulations on the remarkable improvement in your world record time! It’s amazing how effortless you make it look, despite all the effort you’ve clearly put in! I still think it's incredible how you're able to play at such a high level and commentate at the same time.
6:31:20 where did that soldier come from? I looked at this frame by frame, and he just appears out of thin air. Or thick air, or whatever it is that the demolisher conjures up.

@@ThreadMenace What a boring explanation! I prefer to believe that using the Demolisher randomly spawns a soldier. It makes using it so much more exciting!
I have a thought about re-aggroing Queen: would hitting her with an ooze bomb right as she leaves work? Maybe the last couple poison ticks would re-aggro her if it lasts long enough through the flee mode?
My gut says the flee timer would be a little too long but this is good thinking and worth trying out, for sure. I'll keep it in mind

For the 50-ish seconds that someone has the 'corpse run' buff active, they get +150 carry weight.

This is just a curious thing but isnt the Queen fight too "cheatable" shouldnt they remove that room where you hide to hit her? Not complaining about your fight because I did the same when my hp went low but oh well

It used to be worse. Lots of people would discover the strat accidentally and she would just sit there. The devs changed it so she flees now and I have to do some very specific things to get it to work, I think it's OK now

You really strong and you know very well game but...Do Speedrun allow you to delog when you die or using diying button ? It's a little bit cheaty for me. Even if there is no contest you re good on speedrun, there is some rules to be fair enough on it i mean.

Yo Thread - I've seen all your Viking Runs, some more than once cause, (Great Stuff)
- In some runs, you're brewing Frost meat, and not using /die, to climb MTNS. In others you're, personally Im not a fan of that moment of a run, but if it's allowed then it's allowed. So in what run, are you not allowed to /die, logout-back-in, cheese etc. Its a matter options right? One or The other runtype. Not interested in ANY % Runs..

You can use /die in any of the main runs, any run in which you're allowed to die. Only runs on "valheim category extensions" where you're not allowed to die at all is it forbidden. However, if I'm making a fermenter anyway for fire wine and tasty mead I might as well make frost mead too. Depends if I have it ready yet. If I'll don't I'll corpse run up a mountain no problem

Sorry for the double comment. Just wanted to ask if destroying the dwarfs' Ward with a cart counts as indirect damage, causing them to not aggro you? Just getting into the Mistlands for the first time, and wanted to know if that was something I could do to avoid fighting them.

hard to know without a timestamp but it's probably because I want/need to exploit the corpse run buff you get when you pick up your tombstone. it's definitely never just random or to intentionally reduce my skills

What do you keep Eikthyr power for ? No activation at all at the beginning :o
Not using eik in the early game was kinda beaten into my head by the 5-boss run, which is more of a sprint than a marathon and you need to have it available in case you stumble upon a mountain. I could prolly use it once here in the homesteading phase but it wouldn't net me much. Only time I actually *need* it is to get up a mountain and don't wanna arrive at a mountain with even a 5-minute cooldown. I use it a lot more once moder is dead

@@krisklausen2538 it doesn't do anything even remotely close to that, dawg. It tells you if there's a dungeon within like 200 meters of you and that's it. Gets used at the beginning of the valkyrie flight and in the mistlands. Doesn't even come close to playing on a set seed, not even the same universe
