  • The 450 Class is a type of diesel multiple unit (DMU) passenger train formerly used by Northern Ireland Railways. They were affectionately nicknamed 'Thumpers' and 'Castles' (also known as the Castle Class).
These were withdrawn from service in NIR 2012. The sole remaining example was purchased by the Downpatrick and County Down Railway, a heritage railway and museum in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland.
(This was a special “SuperTrain” day with Superhero’s on the train.)
