    Does the plastic truly disolve and get drained or does it stick to the cloths in anyway? Like microplastics of some sort.

    Nice video. Sometimes I prefer using the regular white vinegar instead of the fabric softner (it can be used in machines). I have used both ariel and tide (both from P&G). They work fine and you said is highly convenient. Only thing i have to finish my existing liquid detergent and powder before considering buying another box of pods.

      @@curiesrisaisuryateja007 yes i am aware that fact too. But for me the fabric softener smell was too overwhelming. If you read my reply, i have said sometimes and not always. I used to use fabric softener till around a year or so. Now it's just liquid detergent and vanish(to prevent color bleeding). Btb using white vinegar doesn't impart a vinegar smell to your clothes. Also it is great for descaling appliances.

      Hi Sreelakshmi, Teja! Yes, I use vinegar for cleaning too - both dishwasher and washing machine. It's a great cleaning agent even for countertops or white laminate that I put on my kitchen shelves. Never tried it as a fabric softener.

On bags you spray either diluted or undiluted vinegar (depending on material of bag) and wipe it with a paper napkin. You will see your bag good as new.

    We use one of three different brands for laundry and we always get a hundred loads out of 18 to $25 per purchase. We haven't found a single pod that can come close to 18 to 25 cents per load. Even Tide calls them self out on their own products saying don't pay for water by pods are cheaper but their pods cost more than their water-based products. It's absolutely absurd that people fall for this. You can get a hundred loads for 21 to $25 out of traditional Tide laundry liquid getting 90 to 100 loads, but their pods cost $0.30 a pod. This makes their commercial completely false😂

    The recommended dosage is too high for laundry detergents. And fabric softeners are actually mildly toxic. The plastic peel solidifies in the pipes as well. Pods are not worth the money.
    For dishwashers though, pods are vastly superior to other options. I remove the plastic peel and then throw in the pod. But when I was using pods with liquids this obviously couldn't be done.

  • @abrahamkoshie1967

    Pods should contain adequate detergent for the hardest water in use... Thus for people who have soft water, pods are an overkill...
    Environment considerations also discourage the pods...
    Ultimately it is marketing that matters...

    Biggest problem with pods is that u can not meter down dose of washing liquids.
    They work well for full load....And for smaller loads they r overkill.
    I would never use fabric softener in washer. Fabric softner is major cause of fowling of internal parts of washer. A good quality liquid detergent does all by itself.

    Why do you think the industry is pushing pods? because it's more profitable. The same reason for pushing liquids. Avoid liquids and stick to powder detergent. Cheaper, dosable as per wash load and will not cause long-term deposits that lead to smells later. The recommended dosage is one big average for the whole country. if your water is soft you can get away with less detergent. If it's hard you need more. If soil is normal you don't need as much as if it's heavily soiled. These are all important variables to keep in mind when dosing and a one size fits all such as pods is a solution looking for a problem and more expensive to boot. And please stay away from fabric softener at all costs.

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 года назад +5

      Hi Maxim and Teja, thanks for the discussion! Yes biodegradable ones do exist. But more often than not, we as consumers are penalized for being conscious of our environment - most of these products are more expensive. For example - amzn.to/3pLsQqq is a non toxic, eco friendly, bio degradable detergent. But it costs Rs. 247 for a 500ml detergent. Compare that to a liquid detergent for front load costing Rs. 191 for 1 liter - that's over 2.5 times more expensive. While I'm all for being environment friendly when possible, policies should exist to make them more of a norm to make sure majority of population is using it to make a dent to our environmental concerns.
