JIMI HENDRIX Grave and Memorial | Chris Cornell Memorial Statue Downtown Seattle

  • In today’s video I visit the gravesite and memorial to legendary musician Jimi Hendrix in Seattle Washington. As well, I include a clip from the end of a previously unreleased video where I venture into downtown Seattle to see the memorial to grunge superstar Chris Cornell. Just when it seems the video might end, it starts up again. I may include the Chris Cornell ending on an upcoming video in the future as well. I thought it was appropriate to add it on to a video about Jimi as both artists are now gone, but never, ever, forgotten.

James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix (born Johnny Allen Hendrix; November 27, 1942 - September 18, 1970) was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music, and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music".
Christopher John Cornell (né Boyle; July 20, 1964 - May 18, 2017) was an American musician, singer and songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist for the rock bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. Cornell was also known for his numerous solo works and soundtrack contributions since 1991, and as the founder and frontman for Temple of the Dog, the one-off tribute band dedicated to his late friend Andrew Wood.

Knowing Chris Cornell is not with us anymore makes me feel physically ill. Still haven't got over the heart break. Phenomenal guy and tremendous music, music that will be with me FOREVER.

I've seen lots of RUclipsrs visit his grave, but this is the best visit I've seen. I've never seen anyone visit Chris' statue. So happy to see that. I'm hoping to visit Seattle in the next year or two. Thanks for another preview!

That memorial is stunning. Nice to see all the hendrix family will be together there. My uncle was a road manager for Jimi before Chas Chandler took over.

AWESOME BRO! Born Johnny Allen Hendrix , later they changed it to James Marshal Hendrix. His family nicknamed him 'Buster". He spelled his name Jimmy, but when he went solo, he spelled it Jimi. Ive met his Brother, Leon a couple times. Even got to go to Leons house and it was fantastic talking with him. He plays guitar sometime with a friend of mine. I'll tell u more later. Great video tour Bro! Thank You!

There's an old blues tradition on how to learn the guitar. You go to a guitarists grave with a teacher and you play from 12 am till dawn. The reason being is that the spirit of the deceased will help you in teaching what needs to be tought.

I saw Jimi's memorial/grave last time I was up that way a year or so ago, so many people were there the day I went. Your visit was so nice and peaceful. It's so beautiful!! I love that all the flowers around the memorial are purple. All the times I've been to Seattle I have never been in the Mopop museum, it is definitely on my to do list next time.

Thank you very much for that visit to the Hendrix grave and Memorial. I never knew there was a memorial. I was introduced to his music when I was 10 years old back in 1978 and still listen to him. Such a groundbreaking guitarist it is unreal to try to describe him. By the way I totally agree with you when it comes to this whole defamation of a Memorial. How can someone do something like that. Who could possibly think that someone's Memorial is equivalent to carving you and your Sweetheart's name in a damn picnic table?! I wish they could clean that off. Anyway thanks again and of course be careful out there. Peace and love to you as well Scott and thanks again for this 1 big time!

Hey Alexander I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and it’s cool that ur such a big fan of Jimi. As for the graffiti on the memorial , I think, but I’m not sure, that they do scrub most of it off every now and again but people somehow manage to still deface it. Awful to do.

Jimi Hendrix was one of a kind and I will always think of him at Woodstock, there has not ever been another musician like him. One of my favorite songs of all time is his version of "All along the Watchtower" and "Little Wing" so beautiful.. RIP Jimi and RIP Chris, I was upset with him when I heard the news that he killed himself (I lost my Dad to suicide in 1990), then I thought about the pain he must of felt inside. Both of these musicians will never be forgotten.

Jimi played guitar with his left hand, he flipped a right-handed guitar and learned to play it that way. He is, was, and will forever be the greatest of all time.

Hi Scotty. Thought you were resting but here you are again Working. Not that I am complaining. The grave memorial of Jimi Hendrix is really beautiful and peaceful and I love the words inscribed on the memorial. Reading the words makes you realise about life, and how short it is. Time passes in a blink of an eye. I know. I did listen to Jimi’s music in the day. The statue of Chris Cornell looked so real. It is so sad how these legends passed away. Maybe of no interest to you but just letting you know my friend’s son Devon Terrell is doing a series Cursed (2019) with Katherine Langford and is shooting at the moment. Will speak to him about you when he gets home. Last but not least who else is allergic to coniferous trees and grass. You guessed it, your brother Sean. Thanks Scotty. Your visit to Greenwood Memorial Park was really nice. I don’t think I will ever go there. Take care❤️✌🏼💕

Jimi took a fender Stratocaster right hand.Turned it upside down, and strung it that way,so he could play it left handed. There wasn't a left hand Stratocaster when he first saw the fender strat. He just had to have that guitar!! He waled ,punished that guitar into submission! He was the greatest!! The first time I heard Jimi I was 12yrs old.I'll be 70 in august 2024.

What a beautiful, serene and well maintained resting place for Jimi H. Loved the whole look of it, the message from his family ending with "Stay Experienced." I don't recall seeing that before. So tastefully done & focusing on Jimi's beautiful messages to share with fans forever. I wonder if tbere was a way to leave some there for people to write on with putting graffiti on his stone. Feeling a little too raw to say anything but thanks for showing the statue for Chris. "Nobody sings like you anymore."
