4lbs 3oz is the weight of the lightest model. The 308 is likely that weight because it has the same barrel profile but a larger bore, equating to less metal. They of course advertise the entire model line at 4lbs 3oz, since they want your money.
My super light 7m 08 blew up on my 60 th Rd of Hornady whitetail can't find the action found the barrel and the scope rail and the carbon stock is in many pieces.
Bought one @ 6.5cred, not too happy about grouping..not set up to hand load 6.5cred so I’m still looking for a good factory ammo that shoot well with this rifle. I really like the gun itself, although it feels like a cheaper built version of Weatherby Vanguard (Howa made but more sturdy rigid built, shoots darn good)…a trade off for this light weight, I know.. I just need to find a good factory ammo for it😂
Ron Spomer had some luck with Seirra 130gr game tips might try that out? Also I noticed my inlet was tight. I sanded it down a bit that might of help also!

I believe Howa has a MOA Guarantee with that your rifle? Give Howa a call and ask them!
