That’s NOT true, I know this video is about a year old, but the DCA chip is a sound quality chip and it has something to do with the headphone outlets, it’s not a voltage regulator.

U7870 "TPS72015" its a Low drop out voltage regulator "LDO" takes PP3V3_S5 and creates PP1V5_S0, nice repair. The dell are tricky if you don't clean the burnt carbon from the board in the first place and the ground plane in just in next layer under the chip apply solder mask to isolate the new wire tracks from the ground plane otherwise you end up destroying the PCB

I must admit that I had my doubts about this one , when I saw it's a mac book I didn't want to watch but I had to watch it. As always you didn't disappoint.
Canada is a lovely country.. I live in the Pacific northwest of the USA (in the American west coast Vancouver) I have found Canada a great place to visit.. and snow.. well you would love it there.. As for changing what you are.. you can change what you are if you are young enough and want to change bad enough.. But if you like what you are why change.. Except in your case Sorin once a genius always a genius .. Oh I too miss snow and snow on Christmas would be so nice.. We get snow in the mountains all around us But we live at the western edge of a great canyon through the mountains and while they get some snow and ice there.. we just get freezing temps and no snow.. Hi that is U7870 is a power management IC that takes PP3V3_S5 and creates these power rails PP1V5_S0 which is a CPU / PCH power supply rail also Creates PP1V8_S3 which is a memory power supply rail and also PM_SLP_S3_BUF_L which is a clock signal to support the system clock functions. The board will not function with out that replaced.
RIght schematics show its a TPS72015
SON chip so Sorin can get the specs on the chip.

Sorin way... the sinatra of laptops
Get an exacto-knife scalpel Sorin. It's very handy in jobs like this. Also MacBook logic board absorbs allot of heat so it's harder to solder components. Logic board works like a big heat sink.

If you're talking about Louis, then yeah, I too must admit he's starting to go off-topic lately, instead of just sticking to the task at hand, so I find myself often skipping through the video and just cutting to what interests me. Sorin doesn't go O-T as much, even in his long vids, but I like both - they're both amazing guys, hence why I'd love to see them do a collab :)

He does not have to leave ok? He needs to read about it. Home office has already got instructions on their site. Anyone who is already living in UK legally can stay. No need to panic. Sorin just needs to apply for residency before certain date. If he has indefinite leave to remain than I think he does not have to do anything right now. But as I said he needs to read the law. Canada is not very good choice in my opinion but if he likes Canada than he can go there is they let him in. But I do not think that Canada is just waiting with open arms for Sorin to come over there and start again. In Romania his home country he can make business again as he had before. And his home no stranger in strange country.

Sorin, after you repaired it, it didn't turn on the first time because your Magsafe cable connected to your power supply is probably a chinese fake (like mine). In that case you need to have the battery connected, or the onewire circuit doesn't work. At least in these A1466's. If you use an original Magsafe charger/wire you don't need the battery. Thanks for your videos.

If you have PPBUS_G3H then it’s not point to check DC board, you don’t need flex cable to power on the macbook, and ofcourse first you should remove the logic board. Do you have connected magsafe cable to your power supply ?

It is not booting up and when the charger is plugged, the ram is getting warm even if i am not clicking power button

Sorin why do you want to now what that DAC ic is doing. It’s working fine now you did modify it like new.
I think if you didn’t have replace that chip and only cleaned and removed it. It works fine but no sound input digital or output.

You must have settled status in the UK, so there should be absolutely no problem with you staying and working here. Had you said that you were going back to an EU country, I would have understood that maybe that would be easier for you. But as Canada also isn't in the EU, that rules that out :-)

I tested my PS4 with different HDMI cables and TV’s and its definitely the PS4. Whenever i play video games the screen flickers a lot. However, whenever i exit the game and im back at the PS4 homescreen the flicking stops. What is the problem?
