Should have mentioned the sweets, my son put them in for you, thanks for the repair will see what happens but its working at the moment, thanks again, have a good Christmas.
Sorin, last week I had one 1466 with a very similar problem. Long story short, I finally done a reflow of the SMC, and everything gone fine. The voltages were fixed and stable.
if you didn't touch anything, and now is working, then It can be cracked solderballs under SMC or other bga chip (you heated the board, you put tension on the board so it can be solderballs). You should consider doing a reflow.
I can remember a similar fault in a previous video, it was fixed as well by injecting power. Computers are not always logical, from time to time they need a kick in the "unspeakable". You deserve the candy.
That's the weird thing with injecting voltage into logic, you can trigger it into working again. Something has gone slightly leaky DC wise and it just won't show up again. It would be interesting to see if it fails again any time soon - but as this is a business and time is money you can't hold onto things to see if that happens. Still a great video for showing this type of fault condition.
From experience I've found the 820-3209 to be a fickle board and will frequently do this sort of "self fixing" only to come back a week later with the fault again. Sad to say but it often ends up being the MCP at fault or the CPU. Have long since stopped servicing many of these machines due to the false hope they can give :(
(the repair) God has spoken! Seriously, if someone has experience with repair work and crapple products it's Paul Daniels. Even metric ton of flux won't fix it.
Hi Sorin, great video maybe dust and dirty cause the fault, in my little experince i always clean gently with a little brush not air.... but yes a hateful fault because u can't be sure that came back... thank u for your video bye Francesco Timpano from Florence Italy
My experience from very old time is first clean the dust and then check the system is working... I guess you cleaned some dust without aware such like touching critical components.
I have hp zBOOk with the same problem with flashing power button led it have 5 volt changing all the time and i don't know why but suddenly when i was measurening some volts the laptop turned on for no reason but when i turned it of the laptop didn't work again and showning the same problem with the 5v I left it 2 days and started to work on it again the same senario has been repeated it worked for no reason agen while mesureng the volts when i turned it of the laptop didn't work again i still stuck with the hope to repair it I think (not sure) that this fault reason is a capacitop because the capacitor condition change when it getting a littile hot I need your help and expereince and maybe if you sent me the snickers candy this may help me fixing that board
Sorin, when you see a board that is full of a lot of dust and dirt clean it and maybe the problem will be fixed. Most probably what happened here is some dirt was dislodged and now it works. Always clean first. If you feel you did nothing the way to solve future warranty claim is do not charge the customer then he can only claim $0 ;-)
It is not nothing you have famous green screen on iphone and when you shock enable pin with lighter, or power supply it back to work.. so electric is crazy sometimes
One more reason not to buy anything from Apple. I mean, the devices don't even tell you what's broken, as if they were playing a joke with you.🤣 I love DELL and Alienware, mine has been running for almost 4 years without any problems!!! 😳☺👍

It's seems a properly calibrated candies😂
Nothing is worse than faults that come and go leaving you with the nagging doubt that
the repair is not 100% reliable.
Hard earned candy Sorin.

This is most likely what happened. Even the pressure of the probe on a pin or component can temporarily fix it.
I agree
possibly a dry joint somewhere. Perhaps needs a re-flow of a few chips to be sure

partial short, burned instantly when applying real power instead of the weak one from apple. sorted
candies for motivation

or probably a little capacitor is faulty but shorted and sometimes with the injectios capacitor gets out of the way

Thank you for your videos Sorin.
The candy was placed there for your to enjoy Sorin.

You are honest man.😊
15:59 where is capacitor? :D
Nice work sorn, i know this problem, its not hardware, you should just reset SMC first!
I can feel you master 😊
Eat the sweets and send back the wrappers and say the Elf on the shelf ate them!!
From now everyone has to send Candies and sweet things with the laptops. 😊
My experience from very old time is first clean the dust and then check the system is working... I guess you cleaned some dust without aware such like touching critical components.
Where is your thermal camera 📷 sorin ,you didn't use it in this video or the previous one😮?
Thanks for sharing Maestro, where is my Christmas gift? 🎉😅❤
Maybe a spec of dust was the culprit. Louis Rossmann has a few videos on the topic.
capacitor on broad view not present on mother broad near enabled 5v pin
Maybe there is something not connected properly in SMC ? 🤔
Obviously the candies fixed it.
I have hp zBOOk with the same problem with flashing power button led
it have 5 volt changing all the time and i don't know why
but suddenly when i was measurening some volts the laptop turned on for no reason
but when i turned it of the laptop didn't work again and showning the same problem with the 5v
I left it 2 days and started to work on it again
the same senario has been repeated
it worked for no reason agen while mesureng the volts
when i turned it of the laptop didn't work again
i still stuck with the hope to repair it
I think (not sure) that this fault reason is a capacitop because the capacitor condition change when it getting a littile hot
I need your help and expereince
and maybe if you sent me the snickers candy this may help me fixing that board
Can I no Which software using schematic
The candy was meant to keep the Airbook safe and comfy😉
Maybe the heat from installing the component consolidated something else that was loose.
SMC man still 😉I bet prolly reformed the Ic a little. See how long it lasts 😄
there was so much dust i wouldnt be surprised if dust created partial short that you removed when moving dust and applying current with PSU
first eat the candies otherwise it effects the work........lol
The little prick fixed itself Sorin😂
I came here to ask a very important question... What is the status of the candy? :D
I think sam ic bloked close or open wen you descharge the cap it open bay doing no thing
Next time Troy to see with thermal camera
I agree this is proper bad what the hell has happened!
sounds like it needs smc reflow.. but i might be wrong.

Brush over the board with some alcohol. Apples copyright black corrosive enducement special chemical covering may have been the problem.
Yeah and turns out these weird faults are becoming common. Atleast there's candy for us
It is not nothing you have famous green screen on iphone and when you shock enable pin with lighter, or power supply it back to work.. so electric is crazy sometimes
SMC reset/reflow
I think it is a cap isue. Like before. 🤔
I love you
Possession is nine tenths of the law. The candy is in your possession, they're yours!🍬😋
I hate those faults too. What can you do? You can’t spend a bunch of time waiting for the fault to return.
⚠Sorin 10:30 your eyes.. you look like you haven't slept for a week man.
You can have ONE candy...🍬
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Keep the candies..It is christmas..
Hello sorin...
In this video..
Which SOFTWARE do you use?
It seems not classic BOARDVIEW!
If not ..
Can you tell us which ONE please?
Thank
flexbv
This is Flex Boardview from Paul Daniel’s. He has made his own custom application and it works really well.

Good job and thank you
Sorin Maybe these sweets are for you😂
lol. did you reset the SMC first ? it probably got reset when you removed the battery. who is the noob now?
Maybe it's bcz of the screen wasn't connected
👌👌✌✌
Hello🤝👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋👋👋
Reball SMC bro.
dust
Apple has buggy PMIC chips.. like EC chips and BIOS gets just corrupted.
PM_SLP_S4 _L don’t like sweeties sorin you should know that ..😂😂😂
maybe YOU MVED SOME DUST AROUND IT THAT DID ALL THE PROBLEM ?
🤷🏼♂️
I hate gray area faults of any kind on any device it is always shady and probably will comeback in future.
No need for warranty, charge a bench fee, and return it as "no fix"
