"I believe that mask belongs to me." Damn, that was such a badass line and what made it even more badass was the fact that Hydraxon effortlessly picked up Jaller before saying it.
I remember being in the living room when this came on TV and thinking, "Wait woah that's Bionicle." The moment that door opens on their sub and the music gets going, I remember my jaw dropping and just being in awe on how freaking badass it was! Man I miss Bionicle. :(
It is sad to me when I was a child, I was like "what about to the other movies when they show commercials and comics about ignition trilogy about the battle of piraka, barraki, phantoka, and mistika?" So this made me ask a question am I the only one why the movie production and miramax shouldn't or couldn't made the movie of ignition trilogy in three parts like the first three movies instead skipping them all and read the comic instead?
Angelo the great I actually attempted what Jaller did there, playing flag football one time because both quarterbacks were charging and I was caught in the middle... the result was me being propelled into the air. It wasn't fun.
That particular camera POV is to show which one is talking, as shown with Jaller twice in the video. The narrator messed up the names. Happens even in the comics themselves.
My theory with this video is that whoever did the voice acting got the identities of Nuparu and Matoro mixed up.Both based on the above mentioned line, and Jaller shouting "Nuparu!" at the end and Matoro grabbing it from him.
It makes a lot of sense as it then cuts to Jaller telling him his status ( I found the mask). And yeah I guess it was confusing he said nuparu aswell but still.
God there are so many amazing things about this trailer. The song is awesome, the characters are memorable, and there are so many great lines. "Mission objective: Retrieve mask of life." "I believe that mask belongs to me." And of course that final "I'll take it from here" from Matoro always makes me a little emotional.
In my opinion, The Toa Inika/Mahri are the best Toa. They manage to defeat the Piraka who annihilated the Toa Nova, and even found the mask of life eventually, and Matoro sacrifices himself. Theses Toa are definitely the best, the rest of the Toas are still awesome though.
This gives me goosebumps every time. This is why Bionicle was successful because LEGO doesn’t just care about sales and money. They care about the fans and the story. I can’t think of another toy company that can come up with a story like Bionicle’s. Also this video is just so amazing.
Matoro died in a comic. He's often acknowledged because he sacrificed himself to revert the Toa Mahri into air-breathers and gave his entire being(energy) to revive Mata Nui by using the Ignika.
When I saw this as a kid, I remember how, after seeing the grim, gritty and foreboding "Creeps From The Deep" Barraki commercial, I felt overjoyed seeing the Toa again
I learned that much later. I was watching a Bionicle fan documentary a couple years back when I realized it. What gets me emotional is I can trace every story I ever created as a teen and young adult back to One of my Bionicle (Nuju). So to realize my source of inspiration was also part of such a big story was overwhelming
Matoro was always the one who I thought was gonna betray them (I thought he was stealing the mask for himself) then I read the story and realized what he actually was- a hero
I was so sad when Matoro died in the actual story, he was my favorite of the Inika, and he was badass when he was a Toa Mahri. He was definitely the true hero out of the six.
In my opinion, Matoro was the best of what the Mahri had to offer. He had possibly the most balanced weapon loadout of the Mahri, had a useful elemental power, and had easily the strongest non-god mask, Tryna, the mask of resurrection.
The issue with Matoro is that he didn't think so. He though that everybody else on the Toa team was much more skilled, had more rank and superiority than he did. They all did cool and important stuff like fighting when they were Matorans, while he was simply a translator for Nuju. His attitude towards himself negatively exceeds humility. The guy who had no appreciation for or confidence in himself had the most powerful tools and the most courageous spirit.
I find it funny how the trailer is making Matoro out to be an ice-cold badass who's always on top of shit and perhaps a bit of a traitor with his final "I'll take it from here", when in reality he was extremely insecure and broody and only looked out for his friends.
This is so damn hilarious, it’s simultaneously badass but everyone having the same voice and the most early 00s song being so loud you can’t even hear what they are saying, masterpiece
Oh my god. That last line is just... Oh man. I don't mean to be a geewunner but holy crap, bionicle has SERIOUSLY gone downhill. This ad is cohesive, badass and dark. The new ones don't even touch the amount of kickass contained in just one line. "I'll take it from here..." > Gen 2
Even though Matoro says "Eat this Gadunka" when he slams that thing into Gadunkas mouth, I like to think he says "Eat this you bugga" sense it sounds a bit like that.
Guys, I have a proposition. Let's head over to AweMe and Man at Arms, and ask them to make stuff from Bionicle. I honestly can't believe nobody has asked for that yet. Matoro is THE MAN!
matoro is life
he was amazing as a character
It sounded like he had a Russian accent in this
"Eat this Gadunka" Man he destroyed Gadunke by himself. Motoro is the badassest badass of the bionicle history. Sadly he isnt there anymore.
this is why 2007 was the best year of bionicle
godzillacc5 definitly the best bad guys build wise and i really liked them in general thougj tho bohrok were awesome to
[spoons rattling] yes, and the '08 makuta were awesome as well
godzillacc5 yeah especially phantoka mauta
Not to mention the barraki.
2008 was awesome because of (some of) the set designs, the titans and, of course, the Battle Vehicles.
I've always loved how the Mahri waste all their ammo not ten steps away from the terrain crawler and manage to not hit anything.
I always think that too
That always bothered me when i was little lol
"I believe that mask belongs to me." Damn, that was such a badass line and what made it even more badass was the fact that Hydraxon effortlessly picked up Jaller before saying it.
He was formal about it, almost gentlemanly, then Maxilos comes out and sounds like a hardcore badass
The ironic thing about that is that is the first character we see with the mask in the Mahari saga. In the Barraki video
@@marciharp631 there is absolutely nothing ironic about that
That Mask is mine!
The Virgin Jaller vs. The Gigachad Hydraxon

Matt the Fierce yes
and now its gone
“I’ll take it from here.” - Matoro
You certainly will, Matoro. You certainly will.
Matoro takes on Gadunka single handedly, rescues the mask, and sacrifices himself to save the team.
Matoro was the realest nigga.
Matoro is white though?
Seriously. Why couldn't the movies be this awesome?
i think it would cost insane amounts of money to have that animation for 90 minutes
With how big the lego industry is/was, I am surprised THEY didn't invest more.
But hey man lego have insane amount of money they literally can buy almost any film studio
@@Jack-rv4yc the problem is the cgi and maybe Time money is easy for lego

The moment that door opens on their sub and the music gets going, I remember my jaw dropping and just being in awe on how freaking badass it was!
Man I miss Bionicle. :(
You got that feeling too?
This story arc along with the inika vs piraka not being made into movies or even a tv series was such a missed opportunity
Especially since they skipped the entire Ignition trilogy and went straight to when Makuta took over the robot
It was a crime.
It is sad to me when I was a child, I was like "what about to the other movies when they show commercials and comics about ignition trilogy about the battle of piraka, barraki, phantoka, and mistika?" SlayerOfTears it looked like it was showing nuparus point of view as hewki was next to him
My theory with this video is that whoever did the voice acting got the identities of Nuparu and Matoro mixed up.Both based on the above mentioned line, and Jaller shouting "Nuparu!" at the end and Matoro grabbing it from him.

the inikia trilogy
