Manfred Mann were a great band that had a number of big hits (certainly in the UK). I have a soft spot for another of their song My Name is Jack.
Thanks! Need to check that out!
The musicianship is out there sooo good
Next level!
Kia ora hello again Shawn and Tray my friends. Hay I'm back revisiting this magic song and just have to say you two work so well together it's NICE 👍✌️
Thanks HP! Love working together, wish we could more!
Thanks Blinded by the Light takes me back to when I was in the 5th grade listening for it on Q102s Top 10 nightly countdown where it would always make it in but nearly every night it would get beat by Stairway.
I almost included another good Manfred song called the Mighty Quinn but decided on these two it was a tough decision
It was a great battle! And that takes me back to my childhood listening to Sweet98's Top 8 at 8! Great times from a time unfortunately gone forever!
I think Might Quinn would have been closer than Do Wah Diddy Diddy but I guess that is personal preference.
Shawn and Trey, I really like the facts you research Shawn and you and Trey share. The Boss wrote this and was on his first album ' Asbury Park ? That's cool. Blinded By The Light is a huge hit and a very catchy Pop Rock song. I remember years ago hearing this on radio, brings back memories. I like this version. Epic long version with great guitar and instrumentation. I agree on the movement and arrangement. I like the organ and synth. I agree, a great song by early Bruce. The second song is also a classic. It is a throwback to the Do Wop music of yesteryear. A basic Rock track. I enjoyed the comments and reactions by both of you guys. I agree, both songs are iconic. You both chose Blinded By The Light as the winner of this song battle. I agree, I choose the same song. Great song battle Seals.
I thought you would like this one! Both songs iconic!
@@ReactionsToTheClassics You are right Shawn and Trey, I really liked this video. Two classic songs that are iconic and bring bck memories listening to them.
Kia ora hello my friends hay Chris Thompson is a very good friend of my dad's he's a very nice down to earth GUY with some very good stories of ROCK N ROLL HISTORY and that miss understood line my mate bin asked Chris about it and didn't get to finish the question Chris knew exactly what he was going to say and answered it before the question was finished. A few years ago he gave my dad tickets and back stage passes to the WAR OF THE WORLD'S LIVE STAGE SHOW!!! IT WAS UNREAL REALLY REALLY GOOD
Great stuff HP! Hope you are well brother!
@@ReactionsToTheClassics I'm GOOD Yeah Nah maybe maybe not couldn't say for sure hay our little guy DIABLO Kunekune piglet is doing really well he's a stroppy little guy we are trying to get him to be an outside piggy now transitioning him to a out side animal isn't going to well he just wants cuddles and attention constantly he's LOVELY AND HARDWORK 👍🐷👍✌️
None of us like to be put outside HP haha
Well, seeing as how I'm a bit more of a '60s guy and appreciate that Doo Wah Diddy really doesn't need to stretch itself out to get its point across... I'm actually going to go for that one. It's not like Blinded by the Light is not exactly one of the Boss' best songs.
And, as it so happens, Manfred Mann himself (real name: Manfred Lubowitz) isn't just from my neck of the woods, originally, but is a cousin of a cousin of mine! What are the odds?
oh wow that is cool and we think this battle is much closer than most so great choice Ilan!
Love both. Gotta go with Blinded By The Light.
Thanks Lane!
Do wah Diddy Diddy is a cute little thing
Blinded by the light is a classic rock staple and I tend to lean more towards classic rock than pop
Thanks.
Both are good songs but I have to go with the 60’s classic Do Wah Diddy.
Thanks JB!
i gotta go doo wah diddy
Thanks RR!
They had a few good songs - for me, I preferred Davy's On The Road Again & Joybringer.
Thanks for Watching!
The 60's Manfred Mann also had another really great tune that actually inspired The Boss and Springsteen used to play it and that was "Pretty Flamingo".
From where do you have this Beatles shirt?
Hot Topic, Trey got it for me for Christmas
BUT mumma that's were the fun is
haha
Without listening, I have to ask, how is this even a contest?
You said it all with "without listening"
@@ReactionsToTheClassics lol. I know both songs well. To be fair I will now listen and see what your arguments are
@@ReactionsToTheClassics I still think either "Mighty Quinn" or "Eyes of Nostradamus" were more challenging comparisons but it is nice to hear "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" being remembered. It is a tight well done cover but I still don't see/hear it as close. Blinded all the way.
ok
