    Apologies for the lower than usual audio quality in this one. We had some problems with the main audio and had to use the back-up. We would have re-recorded the game, but as we are once again in a lockdown we can't meet in person for a while yet.

    7:06 You never actually 'aim' in Bolt Action - shooting unit just declare target unit and then roll to hit. THEN, with a HE round, if a hit is scored, you use the template to determine how many models was hit. You can place the template anywhere on the target unit to maximize the number of hits, completely disregarding any cover between shooter and target unit.

    • @ModellingforAdvantage
      @ModellingforAdvantage  3 года назад +2

      Are you saying there are no to hit penalties? or simply that the placement of the template is not affected by LoS?

    • @philippesimpson
      @philippesimpson 3 года назад +1

      @@ModellingforAdvantage The roll to hit is done as normal, including applicable modifiers from e.g. cover. I'm simply saying that the template only comes into play if/after a hit is scored, to determine the number of models hit - and for this step stuff like cover, line of fire, ect. is irrelevant.
      I'm pointing it out, because you implied to James he had to 'aim' at certain models in the unit, while waving the template over them, before he even rolled to hit :)

    • @ModellingforAdvantage

      Use any rules you want mate! Do whatever works for you. Normally Bolt Action works on true line of sight - it blocks line of sight if it really does. So if your bocage is taller than your troops it normally would. As I say though, do whatever works best for you.

    BAR is not an LMG?
    Advantage of ten man units and pinning?
    Running into the building? Buildings being different to say trees or rocky ground?
    Small unit modifier - harder to hit?
    German LMG high fire rate should be using an extra dice?
    General point to note. Make sure each action happens as it falls due. The new guy got away with not placing a pin because he did not hear you, so when his unit was hit a 3rd time it only had two pins. Secondly, when assaulting the unit in the building, he should have done an orders/moral test before charging but did not do so. This shows that when guiding someone new in the game you really have to concentrate for both sides.

    This is more like it, I don't like Warhammer. Every time someone is into something, it's always the same things, e.g. Warhammer, zelda, pokemon, manga, Dr who, Dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, warcraft and what have you. I'm glad to be different, there are not many people under a certain age who like bolt action, I'm 32 and I want to try collecting Bolt action, but there a bit pricy, but worth it! I only like things based on real life like Tiger tanks and Legionaries, not "melter cannons" and stupid "Space marines!" Warhammer is so nerdy. Some people of my generation seem to all be into the same games too, I used to have an old PC from 1993, but my dad threw it away in 2001 when I was 12. What a bad day that was, I went BESERK! I prefer the old classics and I don't like some modern films either. I prefer AI, Gladiator, Enemy at the gates, Lost Boys, Behind enemy lines, Indiana Jones, The old bond series and things like Logan's run, Jason and the Argonauts, Where eagles dare and many other old classics. 300, Avatar and Mamamia can go suck my balls!!!!
