Girls expression at 5:02 ahahaha SAME. she's hilarious, 'you have a string on your behind, can't I wear leggings?' It true tho. All these girls fully expressed how a lot of us feel, thanks for this video! Also the girl at 07:26 raised such a good point too
I’m not Muslim but I am Asian. Wearing oversized shirts are a thing in public pools and beach. It’s really just the Western idea that bikinis are what should be allowed when swimming. Besides, we’re probably just going to dip our toes in anyways! 🤣
Agree
«Just western». Dude people literally walk around naked in many parts of the world outside of Europe and America. It’s natural and okay if people want to wear a bikini, just as it’s natural if people want to cover themselves.
saudi arabia is also Asia 🤦
u mean east asia
@@MD-zr1wy she mentioned specifically bikini being Western ideas. Read properly.
For those who do not know, the veil was actually a symbol of status for centuries in many different lands, before and after Islam.
The Mesopotamians had extreme veiling laws that restricted prostitutes and slaves from wearing it, and they were subject to severe and humiliating punishments if they did. It was also worn in the Joseon period in what would be Korea/China. Jewish and Christian women(not only nuns) would veil themselves. Was also very common amongst married women in Greek society. Veiling was actually quite a normal concept and only begun to be seen as oppressive when the Europeans started colonizing and spreading their moral arrogance around.
In Algeria, the colonialist French men were very adamant about unveiling Algerian women - they were crazy about doing that. Unveiling ceremonies were held, women were even stripped completely naked and photographed whilst a French soldier held her arm in the air as though he had achieved victory and possession of her. Women were forced to take off their veils and reveal their faces at security points placed by the French colonies, in which they were also photographed in a humiliated state.
Basically the French men felt they needed to "conquer" the women to have more power on the land and have dominance over the Algerian men. They would tell the women they were oppressed and lived bad lives, whilst simultaneously oppressing them and forcing ideals onto them.
Basically European moral arrogance and a desire for cultural dominance is what stigmatized the veil in the first place.
True! I have explained this to enquiring non-Muslims. Chapter 24, verse 30 (if I recall correctly), in Qur'an God says for the Believing Women to draw their veils over their bosom so that they would be known as such and not be Molested.
Clearly from that verse alone you'll find that covering the head neck was something that most did in those time, especially in desert regions. But even most Europeans did also, as well as some African tribes.
God wants us to be Modest so there's no vulgar Lusting, and their remains Honor and respect with ourselves and those around us.
Even these women reacting to these videos are covered in make up, and almost none of them have their head piece long enough to the FRONT where it covers their breast🙄
As Allah(SWT) describes in Qur'an.
Allah's verses are clear! And I am truly sickened by many Muslim men and women today not representing the Faith as they should.
God says to Submit to Him WHOLEHEARTEDLY! For God doesn't like the Lukewarm. One foot remaining in Worldliness/Vanities. Honestly, if I were a non-Muslim observing them while lacking knowledge, I would question them too, because All Spiritual paths turn away from human vices, Vanities and Worldliness. Not that we are angels walking on earth, but you can't be having fake nails, painted face, skin tight clothing, a cloth wrapped around your head and neck while breast are exposed and say, "I am a practicing Muslim"...
Come on now🙄
@@sakinatalks4035 girl jus stfu like alright we understand some of what you are sayin is half correct but boi why you bringing up the whole painting face, fake nails or whatever to this topic when it wasnt even mentioned, 2nd thing WHY ARE YOU EVEN LOOKING AT THEIR BODY ITS NOT ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS AND IF YOU WANT TO ADVICE SOMEBODY IT SAYS WE SHOULD ADVICE CORRECTLY AND PRIVATELY AND YOU OUT SPEAKING LIKE YOU PRACTICE ISLAM THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE, aint no way cause you making me more mad than anything with those acts

7:17 Thank you so much!! Yes just because non-hijabis don;t wear a scarf doesn't mean we aren't religious.

There are so many in the middle east. But the media doesn't show them as they don't want ppl to see that we have a free society. I live in Muscat and a lot of ppl don't wear hijab.
I’m a modest Christian and I totally get the same looks when I go to the gym in oversized long sleeve shirt and leggings and skirt over the leggings. I’m not here to satisfy others I am here to respect my God, respect my husband and myself. Thanks for talking about normalizing modesty!

As a modest Muslim woman, I hope your husband respects you by not being shirtless when he's a the gym.
@@misbahailia3345 he does not expose himself either, it’s long sleeves with loose sweatpants 🙂
Since this comment, we have actually arranged our garage into a personal small gym. So we got a treadmill, jump ropes, weights, and other misc items for working out. Now we don’t even have to go to the gym🙂
i love muslimtok. also yeah ive never met anyone who takes off their hijab for a white boy named LARRY SMITH
I love how they say you can still be modest even if you don't wear a hijab. It's the first time I've heard that. I feel like because I don't wear a hijab, when I tell people I'm Muslim they look at me sideways because I don't "look like it".
I hear that. 🙄 They don't respect your choices to live Halal too, just because there's no Hijab. They're really ignorent.
It cheesed me off, that when I finally wore my Hijab (because I was ready) then everyone took me seriously as a Muslim.

Omd ANOTHER Muslim reacts! I love these videos!
I love every single one of these girls. Beautiful and strong. True Muslim Women
subhan Allah, everyone passed the vibe check. and is super funny!
I have met several Muslim women who have taken off hijab, buibui and dress in minis in a public bus once they leave the gate home.
It depends on culture actually.
Coz I have also met the staunch Muslims who would never, never, never show any skin or hair and believe in it without being oppressed.
There are both sides of Muslims like there is in any society.
No one disagree that some are oppressed but the majority are not and that’s why you see non-hijabis Muslims. But the problem is ppl think forcing to take it off or wearing bikinis is not oppressing
There is culture and then there is religion. Islam does not oppress Muslim women ever.
Ok, but they said they never met a Muslim woman who has taken it off FOR A WHITE BOY!!! Taking it off as a personal choice is different from the orientalist and racist fetishising narritive that some white man “freed” her from the hijab 🙄
@@btwiitsmishal That's be the Islam you know. Unfortunately just like any other religion, it is used to oppress others in other places that you don't know. Different experiences different places.
Same with Christianity.
The foundation of both our religion is love. Love for humanity and faith in the higher being. We are told to respect life in all forms and to have faith that the way we live is right if we follow that line of respect for one another.......
But humans, we sometimes are stupid, we take phrases out of context and no matter what, there is always a group that only just looks at that small phrase instead of the bigger picture.
And before you come for me, I have been both a Muslim and a Christian at one point and another in life. We are all founded on same ideology, respect for life, faith and one another.
@@buthainaalmamary7043 It's always the voice of the negative that seems to be more heard. So, we can't deny that there are those who are oppressed and those who aren't. I quite agree with you.
Unfortunately, when as humans we nitpick, negativity seems to be more in an the limelight. Our prejudices often win....... Just learn so see the silver lining.

The reaction of the sister who said "Men need to keep their mouths shut" says a lot about the situation of the ummah right now.

7:07 True! Whenever I went to nearby pool we all wear wetsuit, legging, and shirt.
Instead there was one time when my family went to a beach in Bali, the one with a lot of western tourist, my little brother, probably 7 at the time, saw women wearing bikini and only strings on their butt and loudly said, "Ew disgusting!". Thankfully it was in our native language so the tourists don't understand. That was his first time seeing people exposing themself so much in public.
yup. somebody gotta tell these people their norms arent the absolute norms 🙄
Ur brother needs to have some manners and learn about other culture
@@NB-xu8bl Not to make an excuse but he was 7 and the first time he saw a foreigner, we were flabbergasted he could say that word honestly, that's why I remember that even after years. Don't worry, our country has so many cultures, it's just ordinary day to see everything different. As he grew up, he would and did naturally learn about it.
Though I would say some places in Bali is not a place for showing off your legs tho. It is disrespectful to the actual culture there. It was a beach, but also near a temple. So I would also suggest the western tourists need to have some manners and learn about other culture. It is an actual problem in Bali.
@@mitsua2411 oh got it 👍
I'm annoyed with these women saying "this has white written all over it". Being Muslim isn't being non white, there are white muslims (think Bosnian brothers and sisters), I am white passing, I am no less Muslim than a black Muslim. I've been invalidated so many times before because I'm white looking. I've been treated differently by the ummah so many times, it's not fair.
That upsetted me too. Even though I'm a British Pakistani Muslim girl. My brother in law is Bosnian Muslim though.
@@misbahailia3345 tbh it's racist (which is a sin) my fiance is white (muslim) and the amount of times we've been excluded from things is just shocking but I forgive them sins happen mat Allah help them see their faults

I don't wear the hijab, but men need to keep their mouth shut when they talk about hijab. They don't have the right. They should really find a hobby, instead of looking down on women...
Exactly. Those same men don't cover from the navel to the knees like they're supposed to.
Yet, they run their mouth.

As a non-hijabi muslim who lives in a country where majority is muslim I still get unnecessary comments about how I were modestly I’m so done with some people CAN EVERYBODY MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS
You get comments about not wearing hijab or about wearing modest clothes without the lkhimar?
ayoo sis at 5:03 LMAO!!!
That is 100% accurate of how tv portrays Muslim women.
Can someone tell me why us Muslim women get defensive when someone reminds us of the correct rules in Islam. For example the hijab with a piece of hair showing. You know that that’s not allowed and u get offended by it when someone points it’s out. Honestly just take the advice and keep it moving. And the whole burkini topic just gets me mad. Since when is a burkini modest?? And we as Muslims are also promoting it. Just doesn’t sit right with me.
I couldn’t agree more 🤝🤝🤝🤝
Because many people Harass women for not wearing it properly such as bashing public humiliation etc and it’s none of their business how they wear since many women have their ups and down with their faith and u nothing abt them and thus harassment is usually done by men which they should be lowering their gaze. I hope this helped and pls try to be open minded, think inclusively and think of others in their situations thank u
@@hxmdnv it's not about being inclusive. Our faith has already outlined what is inclusive and what isn't. I understand everyone is racing at their own pace to the finish line, it doesn't mean those passing you by can't correct you where you're making an error. Those that are out there with a platform promoting their own ideas of what "hijab" is need to get called out.
@@teamkilo1 that’s what Im not saying I’m just saying how people just need to accept people and not be so obsessed with them everyone has their own opinions and their own journey let them be unless they are doing something so offensive that is very important to point them out

Im not muslim, but i thought it was perfectly normal for literally most women to prefer wearing shirts/shorts over their bikinis when they go swimming, cause… most women dont want to show their bellies, cleavages or crotch line just to get wet. Womens swimwear are usually incredibly revealing, and theres nothing wrong with that, but most women just dont find it comfortable, regardless of religion.

“TᕼE ᒪᗩᗪY Oᖴ ᕼEᗩᐯEᑎ TᖇᗩIᒪEᖇ”
Good video and had some funny bits but the stuff said towards the end from a couple of women there is very dangerous thinking saying " normalise that " not wearing a hijab is what she was reffering to and no we should not be normalising that its prohibited in islam ofcourse we should not judge others but offer polite guidance to the sister but do not " normalise " that because its very CLEARLY written in the quran that its Haram and we should not be normalising anything that is haram and guiding the people around us which is also one of our duties as muslims not just to get by yourself and " mind your own business " no if we see a brother or a sister sinning its our responsibility to politely advise them and help them, what they do with that information is up to them but you did your part, May Allah guide us all in sha Allah.
I don't think she was normalising not wearing a hijab. I think she was implying that normalise not judging a non hijabi sister based on her not wearing a hijab. Like perhaps she is a really good person and really good Muslim apart from not wearing hijab. Only Allah knows.
Ps I'm absolutely NOT saying not wearing hijab is Ok. We as Muslims should observe obligatory modesty as advised by Allah - us covering ourselves and men guarding their gazes along with it.
This whole thing of "My hijab, My way" is such a self imploding attitude. Some "hijabi" women are literally paving the way to doom for not just themselves, but for other women who get confidence to do the same as them.
That band of hair isn't meant to be showing, it's not even a topic for debate. At least accept your flaws and not parade it so much so that it's become a norm.

Things that will trigger my gen z liberal Muslims:
1: these ladies are not an actual representation with their liberal and feminist mindset of a Muslim( I’m not tryna hate on them but the truth is that most of what they said is liberal and feminist).
2: If you have a problem with (1) then you need to do some serious self evaluation right now.
3: the sister that was going off at the brother at 3:30 like Mrs gurllll…. What’re you getting mad at? What he says isn’t wrong or “invasive “ or sexist. They are valid questions of you consider yourself a Muslim
When I listen to them talking I was asking my self that yo there is something wrong with their belief or something and yup you clarified it to me now
I dont know that nowadays Muslim and liberal can come side by side. You cant call yourself as Muslim if you have liberal viewpoint.
It’s views like this that cause people to say Islam is oppressive. You guys are always focusing on a woman’s hijab 99.9% of the time. It’s like there’s nothing else for you To focus on. What about your arrogance and invasive views on women?
